"new gearing options" -> redeem old marks for honor, buy class blue pvp gear with honor, dungeon badges, or low arena points price, lvl 200 epic versions for raid badges or arena points (no rating req), lvl 213 version for arena pt only + rating req. lvl 200 epic offpieces purchasable with honor
"wintergrasp revamp" -> still 120 vs 120, but no longer an open world pvp zone and instead is a cross-realm battleground. queue at npc or walk into zone to queue. wintergrasp still occurs at set times and can't be run 24/7, must queue at specific times. if you win your battle, you get a buff "essence of winterrgasp". if anyone of your faction zones into open-world wintergrasp with the buff on your realm (layer?), rewards npcs will spawn and you can buy stuff from the "winner" vendors, farm the elementals, and zone into vault of archavon. this means both factions can potentially be able to raid at the same time.
"new battlegrounds" -> stand of the ancients, and isle of conquest launches later in wotlk expa. no changes with the battlegrounds, it's still the same as before.
"new arenas" -> dalaran sewers and ring of valor. no changes compared to retail.
"arena system changes" -> arena rating is personal and not team based, "heartbeat resist mechanics" are removed (pvp cc mechanics randomly got removed early by design but this is removed entirely for classic for cc will go full duration and not break early with the exception of diminishing returns and dispels), removal of nitro boosts and other engineering usables, gladiator mount added for 2v2 arena bracket
