We have summarized all of the new information regarding developer opinions on Druids, encountering players, and level scaling, gathered from recent interviews with Diablo 4 associate game director Joe Piepiora and art director John Mueller.
Diablo 4 Content Overview Diablo 4 Guide Hub
In an interview with
Eurogamer.net
, Joe Piepiora explained that the chance of coming across other players in the open world is fairly low, as regular regions in the world have a cap on the number of players you can encounter.
Joe Piepiora
From the design side, it is important to us that the player feels they are isolated as they wander around the world. Particularly when you're not in cities, the likelihood of you coming across other players is fairly low. We don't allow for a very high number of players to exist in the regular regions around the world.
when you're just wandering around in places like the tundra in the Fractured Peaks when you're doing a side quest or whatever it is, it is much less likely for you to come across other players because the caps for those regions are lower.
And we're not doing that for a technical consideration. We're doing that specifically because we want to ensure we have created a certain sensibility around the experience as you're progressing through.
When asked by
Eurogamer.net
how level scaling in Diablo 4 works, we have learned that using the "Skip Campaign" function on a character will scale the entire world to your level. This will allow you to start in any region of your choosing.
Joe Piepiora
When you play in a skipped campaign state version of the game, the world is all going to scale to you entirely.
Monsters will only scale up to level 50 in World Tier 1 and 2. This will let you do completionist activities at a fast pace if you have outleveled the content, but it also means that gear from these difficulties will become irrelevant rather quickly.
Eurogamer.net
You can choose to stay in World Tiers 1 or 2, and the monsters will never get higher than level 50. You could be level 60 and still wander around and finish your collections or hoover up any side quests, and you'll cream through monsters because you'll be much more powerful.
In an interview with German gaming outlet
GameStar
, Joe Piepiora mentioned that the Druid is actually one of the strongest classes in Diablo 4, according to Blizzard's internal tests.
Joe Piepiora
The Druid is actually one of our strongest classes, at least according to our internal tests. However, players were not able to experience full potential during our Betas.

But why are druids in D4 fat?

If you look at the class mechanic we didn't get to access during the beta for the druid, on any online builder, it is literally just a bunch of passive stat boni that isn't going to impact how the class plays as opposed to sorcerer's enchant or rogue's combo points.
That isn't entirely true, though, is it? Most of them are indeed passive stat increases, which admittedly I don't find particularly inspired nor exciting, either. But there are some snake and wolf boons that do have more impactful effects on how the class plays, and it wouldn't take that much to change the passive stat increase boons similarly more "interesting" effects. Could it be that one of the reasons we did not get to experience the boons system is that it wasn't finalized yet, and the version of it we see in online builders is only a placeholder? I'm genuinely wondering. And hoping that it is the case.

You are of course right, there are some interesting choices in there.
According to the people who recently announced they had full access to the game for ten days, what we have seen is what is in the final product.
It does however seem that Druids will be quite capable and varied in the end game once we gain access to synergies between legendaries, and it is being predicted to be top 1/2 strongest classes, so according to these people it's mostly about speed and early game power.
We will however see. When Diablo Immortal was launching the same people prophesized Barbarians to be leagues above everything else and they turned out to be utter garbage in both PvP and in the end game activities like clan wars and raids.
