This looks fantastic. Kinda makes you wonder how Blizzard can't achieve the same level of quality.
When fans put more effort than Blizz....
One of the things that I think made the Warcraft setting work well for WoW was that it was a post-war world. WC2 was a massive, world-wide total war that affected an entire generation. But, it was a war that happened about 30 years before WoW.Meaning it was long enough for young adventurers to not experience it, but short enough for veterans to remember it.Long enough for some to forgive it, short enough for others to still hold grudges. It was one of my favorite things about WoW's setting. The legacy of the Second War was a rich backdrop that isn't 100% necessary to know, but added a lot of context for the story.Narratively, it was a really good setting for a faction-based MMO too, since it allowed room for competitive and cooperative faction narratives. It's a setting that's kind of been broken by BFA's whiplash storyline. Though I don't think the story devs really understand that. They don't recognize that by trying to replicate WC2's total war, things can't just believably go back to normal. The forsaken attempted genocide, the void elves committed war crimes against civilians, etc. etc. There are a lot of examples I could give, but the point is that there isn't really believable room for people to have just magically moved on in the span of less than a year.I don't believe there's any plans for a time skip, but at this point, I think it's the only way to repair the setting. Unless they retcon the events BfA. That, or they stop making the Horde and Alliance magically get along and be friends -- but we all know that won't happen.I feel super disconnected and uninterested in WoW's story these days. but it was really cool to see these assets make their way to modding. It reminded me how much I used to love the Warcraft franchise.
Such a disappointment that Warcraft reforged could be so much big by making all series or even more from ground zero, but yeah you know what happened in the end 😢 What I've imaged that they could release new chapters periodically instead of releasing it all even before the WC I making this a release festival for Warcraft fans.Anyway Kudos to LoreCraft Designs and Hive Workshop 👏👏👏
Activision Blizz should hire these creators. I'd buy story-telling like that
the team of CSW is very happy that we're featured on Wowhead, fellow Warcraft fans deserve to know that there are people who are working tirelessly to bring this game back to life, if you like to follow us, here's our Discord https://discord.gg/DX9DBe6Veh
That looks AMAZING, i need to install it!
What, it isn't obvious ? It's because they're money hungry led by Bobby Gallywix. Activizard's credo nowadays is to make as much money as possible with as less resources as possible. Look at them last Blizzon, most things they revealed were only "remasters". There's a trend in the gaming industry to make remaster after remaster instead of coming up with something fresh (invest resources). If they can milk the players a lot of money so Bobby Kotick can get another yacht, that's all that matters, Activizard is utter trash.
So I keep seeing people saying "Blizzard"... however, the original Blizzard (vanilla to WotLK) that anyone knew ceased being just that whenever Activision/Vivendi got involved. The original crew actually gave a ^&*! and didn't want to release a garbage product. All Activision cares about is the bottom line, got it, but the product is still being marketed to a consumer base which in turn means they have to be taken into consideration to some degree. Idk, it just pisses me off when I see "Blizzard" said/get drug through the mud, even though I know---Blizzard, is no more...
pls give us wildhammer dwarf druids in game
Ummm... was that a Wildhammer Druid?
At least with this (and now José BV's Warcraft 3 series), the Reforged assets are being put to better use.
