Why not a single mention of that one Angel holding a shield with a very clear symbol on it? Does that symbol exist in Warcraft lore anywhere? Seems like its a very big clue.Additionally, that stand out angel with a shield is in the identical place where the purple dragon is positioned on the opposite mural.
Misspelled Murozond everywhere as Murazond. (Murozond is an anagram of Nozdormu)
There are hints that Sinestra is possibly still alive. In Legion, "Sintharia's whispers from beyond the grave send Zeryxia to lead the Twilight's Hammer and reborn twilight dragonflight to attack Deepholm." Maybe twilight drakes were there in the beginning all along. Also, those lady figures are good examples of tasteful revealing art done right. Really artistic and not tacky at all. I love it!
One set of dragons that I haven't seen any mention so far are the storm dragons of the broken isles. They are all either red, blue, or purple. As far as I know they're existence as dragons (and not proto dragons) is never explained in Legion is never explained so if they had some connection to the events of DF that could be potentially interesting IMO. However, the mural does appear to be a "regular" dragon. The twilight drakes also were mostly purple and blue and we know survived (if I remember correctly) after a run in with them during the Shaman order hall quests in legion. While it'd be cool if there were a faction of twilight dragons trying to redeem themselves, I don't feel this is likely. Even if there were such a group I doubt they would make enough progress at this point to be included in a mural.Another guess is that it is a new (new to us anyways) dragonflight. One that stayed on the dragon isles possibly as caretakers along side the titanforged. Also, it doesn't really lend anything lore wise, but another spot we see violet dragons is the violet proto drake from the holiday meta achieve.
Are we forgetting that there are angels just like this all over Wyrmrest Temple? In fact, the exact same first mural is there.
Goriona?Edit: its also fair to mention thats ysera, who is not currently around. Yet.
I assume the angel mural with the playboy centerfolds on it is a mistake as it's an old file. I really doubt Blizzard is interested in putting that kind of smut into the new dungeons.
Great read. I love these more speculative posts.
My guess is this is from an alternate timeline where Galakrond wasn't corrupted and became an aspect!
the 3 dragons have their mouth open, the purple one not
That is the exact coloring of drakes of the Chromatic Dragonflight. BFA hinted that some still exist since one appeared as a rare spawn during Black Dragonflight encounters in Island Expeditions. Blizz hinted that there might be someone "more worthy" of becoming the new Aspect of the Black. A previously unknown Chromatic drake would be a worthy successor to Neltharion. As for the mural itself, it being old but depicting current affairs makes perfect sense if you consider that it's a construction of the Bronze. They have knowledge of events to come. This art could be a depiction of the "correct flow of time" and Nozdormu not being part of the mural is a clue to us that we will be seeing his transition to Murozond during this expansion.
The angels remind me of some of the Val'kyr imagery the Valkyra use. The shield also makes me think of the runes in the temple were Eyir is found.
It's just art.
Feels like they may just be updating the Wyrmrest Temple ceiling, which currently has the angel one.
It's interesting that the Red/Green/Blue dragons in the mural have their mouths open (breath attacks potentially?), while the Purple one doesn't.. not sure if that's worth anything but they do all seem to be kind of looking at the Purple dragon as well, almost trying to fight it maybe? š¤
The angels are in Ulduar as well as Wyrmrest Temple. Ulduar also has little cherubs all over the place. I really hope it's an effort to tie new art to existing art to keep the world consistent with itself.
