With the release of Patch 9.2.5, some Mythic+ dungeons are now harder due to the key level aura now affecting new enemies in Halls of Atonement, Theater of Pain, Plaguefall and Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder. Be careful of using your keystones!
Introduction
Since the start of Shadowlands, there have been some enemies in Mythic+ dungeons that haven't been affected by the keystone scaling aura, making them always do the same amount of damage and have the same amount of health no matter the Keystone level.
With the launch of Patch 9.2.5, it seems like most (if not all) of these have been fixed making all of these creatures scale their health and damage with keystone level, making them much more deadly than before!
We've listed many of the known changes below; thanks to everyone who submitted a change report to us and feel free to comment below with any additional changes. Blizzard has pushed a hotfix to one spell in Halls of Atonement so far, but this nerfs the base damage, but the damage still scales with keystone level.
You may wish to avoid these dungeons until this is confirmed to be a bug, intended or further nerfs are applied.
Halls of Atonement
The third boss
Gran Giudice Aleez
has
Parrocchiano dell'Oltretomba
adds which pulse AoE damage to the group via
Impulso dall'Aldilà
.
You can see from two logs from Patch 9.2 that on a
+16
and a
+25 keystone
, this pulsing AoE has the same base damage of ~1400. As such, it's clear they don't scale with keystone level.
In Patch 9.2.5,
Parrocchiano dell'Oltretomba
adds now scale with Keystone level making them deal much more damage than before.
However, from logs earlier today, you can see that on a
+15
the damage is ~3.9k damage and on a
+20
the damage is ~5.7k damage. The damage on a +20 is almost 5 times the damage that it was before the Patch.
Hotfix
It seems like Blizzard noticed this issue though as
Impulso dall'Aldilà
received a hotfix in the early morning NA time to nerf the damage by 66%. However, the damage still scales with Keystone level.
Impulso dall'Aldilà
- A rhythmic pulse from the realms beyond inflicts 74012467 Shadow damage to players within 8 yards, and 1850617 Shadow damage to all players, every 1 sec.
5% damage variance removed
Theater of Pain
The
Mordretha, l'Imperatrice Eterna
boss encounter summons
Calcamorte
adds which cast
Dardo Mortale
on random members of the group.
These
Calcamorte
previously did not scale their health or damage with key level, meaning they died very quickly and did very little damage even while alive.
In Patch 9.2.5,
Calcamorte
adds now scale with Keystone level, making them take a lot longer to die and deal a significant amount of damage if casts go off.
Finding a
+20 log
, these now hit for 12k base damage
per cast
making them much more important to interrupt and kill as quickly as possible.
For this boss, you'll want to make sure to place these close to the boss now and make sure to use knocks, grips, CC's and interrupts to kill them as quickly as possible with as few casts going off.
Plaguefall
The
Dottor Skifus
encounter summons
Melma Eruttante
whenever the Tank is dispelled. This
Melma Eruttante
can be stepped on by a member of your group to instantly kill them and triggering
Melma Ribollente
.
These
Melma Eruttante
did not previously scale their health of damage with key level, making it easy for anyone to step on them and not die. Note that slimes on the trash did scale with key level, only slimes spawned from the boss encounter did not scale with keystone level.
In Patch 9.2.5,
Melma Eruttante
adds on the Doctus Ickus encounter now scale with Keystone level, making them much more dangerous to step on.
You can see that in Patch 9.2, this ability
only does ~9.5k base damage
on
any keystone level
. In Patch 9.2.5, a
+15 keystone
now does 26k damage and a
+20 keystone
now does ~38k damage.
This means that you'll probably want your tank to soak most of these because they do much more damage than before!
Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder
The first boss
Zo'phex
summons a
Cella di Contenimento
which does damage over time to the player and explodes for a
Misura di Sicurezza
when killed.
These
Cella di Contenimento
did not previously scale their health or damage with key level, making it very easy to break players out of the containment.
In Patch 9.2.5,
Cella di Contenimento
s now scale their health with keystone level making it take longer to break players out, and the
Misura di Sicurezza
explosion scale swith keystone level dealing much more damage.
Using a
+19 log
, the
Misura di Sicurezza
hits for ~39k damage (up from the
base of 10.5k
) when defeated. In addition, the Containment Cell itself now has
122k health on a +19
(up from a base of
33k on any keystone level
).
With these changes, you'll want to make sure you actually run away from Zo'phex if you're about to be put in a
Cella di Contenimento
since the mob has a lot more health now.
