Today's Legion news covers Tier 19 Shaman Armor, Battle Pets in Val'sharah including
Jeune sabre fantomatique
, and how Artifact Knowledge works.
Tier 19 Shaman Armor
Earlier in the week, we posted Shaman Tier 19 models (Normal, Heroic, Alliance, Horde). Today we have videos of the tier set, as well as the more elaborate Mythic and Elite PvP models!
These videos preview the armor sets on all Shaman races and the mythic sets also show off Shaman artifact weapons--
Marteau-du-Destin
/
Fureur de la Pierre-Mère
,
Poing de Ra Den
,
Sharas'dal, sceptre des marées
. You can browse more Artifact Weapon Appearances on the
Artifact Calculator Appearance Tab
and preview them on your character in the
Legion Dressing Room
.
Below are images of the Mythic and Elite PvP Shaman sets, click on the images to enlarge them.
Here is a comparison to the regular look - the shoulders are less elaborate and the armor in general is missing unique lava effects (mythic) or blue jagged details (PvP).
Artifact Knowledge
Players have been asking how catch-up mechanisms and gating will work for Artifact Weapons, and it looks like Artifact Knowledge on the alpha may be part of the answer. This system is likely to be changed as the alpha/beta progresses, but here's what it's like right now:
At the top left of the Artifact Trait UI, there is a number for Artifact Knowledge. This number reflects the amount of traits you can activate in game. While you can acquire as much artifact power as you like, you are limited on spending it all at once.
Before the holidays, knowledge was capped across the alpha server at Level 6. When the servers came back up in January, knowledge had increased to Level 8. There appears to be no way for players to change the Knowledge Level on their own.
In addition to gating how Artifact Power is spent, the Knowledge level affects the cost of each Artifact Trait Rank. As the Knowledge level increases, the Artifact rank cost decreases. For example, at Knowledge Level 6, the first two points cost 100 Artifact Power, the third cost 200, and the fourth cost 300. At Knowledge level 8, the first four points cost 100 Artifact Power each, and the fifth costs 200.
So in its current form, a higher Knowledge level serves as a catch-up mechanism for alts and players who started the weapon process later, as the earlier ranks will be cheaper to acquire.
We have added the Artifact Knowledge number to our Artifact Calculator and the costs now reflect Level 8, up from 6.
Val'sharah Pet Preview
