Bring Weapon Arsenals to Pandaria Remix - The Much-Needed Quality-of-Life Addition

Pandaria Remix has been an incredibly ambitious breath of fresh air for many players who would have taken a break during the last season of Dragonflight. As players traverse Pandaria, from the Jade Forest to the Isle of Thunder, many are focused on one thing: collecting as many unique transmog appearances as possible before this time-limited event disappears and The War Within begins.
Blizzard has certainly given players a plethora of things to collect in Remix - from 30 new mounts to 44 unique-to-Remix Ensembles and Arsenals, all the way to guaranteed ways to obtain some of the most highly sought-after World Boss drops in the game, players have almost an entire expansion's worth of new appearances and goodies to snag; and the best part is, you can just buy them, no RNG required.
Well - at least, most of them.
While Pandaria Remix has given players an incredible amount of agency in choosing the loot they want, it also is missing a baffling, and rather critical, section of the gear - weapon drops, by and large, are entirely RNG-dependent in Pandaria Remix. We're taking a look at this design decision to see how it impacts players, as well as diving into some possible solutions for this lack of player choice.
The Missing Arsenals
Virtually every piece of gear in Pandaria Remix (except for a few Cloak transmogs) is available through Ensembles purchased in the Infinite Bazaar. Whether you want a class-specific set like
Ensemble : semblance de veilleur pandashan
or something more agnostic such as
Ensemble : vêtements de la perle du soleil
, one of the vendors will have you covered -
unless
you're looking for weapons.
While there are some class-specific Arsenals available for completing the
Île du Tonnerre
achievement, general weapons, such as those that drop in every zone, raid, and dungeon across Pandaria, have no Arsenal to learn them - only the frustrating, random nature of RNG drops.
If there were only a few of these weapons, it might be more understandable - after all, why would Blizzard spend the time to make something for, let's say, 5 appearances? However, we've previously
categorized the unique weapons
available in Pandaria Remix, and there are
a lot
- almost 250 of them.
Some of the iconic appearances that are completely unique to Pandaria Remix - you can't get these colorations anywhere else.
It's incredibly time-consuming - not to mention unlikely - for players to try and collect 250 appearances completely randomly. With no true targeted way to farm them aside from opening
Cache de trésors infinis
and hoping, it's entirely possible players will go the entirety of the Pandaria Remix event having never seen certain items, thus missing out on their appearances, possibly forever.
Intentional Skip? Or Forgotten QoL?
The decision to have these weapons remain random drop only is an odd one, particularly given Blizzard's stance on appearances thus far in Pandaria Remix. We
previously reported
on bugged behavior of Ensembles in Remix, which was then
quickly addressed by Blizzard
and was a huge win for players looking to collect every possible transmog that they could. This shows Blizzard clearly wants players to collect in Pandaria Remix, and is trying to ease barriers of entry to the collection game.
Blizzard themselves have also spoken on the intent behind putting appearances on vendors in Pandaria Remix:
This allows players to purchase items that were previously unable to obtain or difficult to obtain as random drops by simply spending this new currency to add them to their account’s collection.
Many items were given a cost and put onto a vendor in Pandaria Remix,
specifically to combat the difficulty imposed by random drops.
While for many, this was a welcome respite to farming
Galion
or the
Sha de la peur
, others expected weapons to fall under this umbrella as well - only to be met with
doubled
layers of challenge, as not only are they still random drops, they're also time limited.
Not only that, but the design surrounding the way these weapons drop is an additional layer of frustration: since they are actual weapons and off-hand items, you can only loot gear that your class can use. If you're playing a Druid? Say goodbye to that

you were hoping to grab - you'll have to create an entirely new character for that. Blizzard clearly wanted players to be able to collect as much as possible with one character - the fact that you can buy and learn Ensembles for armor types other than your own proves that - but weapons are still left out of the equation.
Logically, it would make sense that this may have simply been overlooked on Blizzard's part - after all, why say you're attempting to make items easier to obtain and then ignore a large portion of the drop pool? It hasn't gone unnoticed by players either, with many
turning to the forums
questioning the decision to leave weapons out of the
Bronze
-covered fun.
How Can we Fix Weapon Drops?
Unlike the previous bugs related to Ensembles, these weapon drops have, at least on the surface, a relatively easy fix - simply add Arsenals to one or more of the vendors in the Infinite Bazaar (such as
Mahra Sylvecourbe
or
Durus
). With the recent implementation of

, players will have no trouble scrounging up the required
Bronze
well before the event ends, leaving everyone happy: Blizzard enticed players into Pandaria Remix, and players were able to collect everything their hearts desired.
Even adding weapons as individual purchases wouldn't be amiss - after all, the starting weapons such as
Arc du cours du temps
and
Épée du cours du temps
are already sold piecemeal by
Erus
- and players would retain the ability to choose what they want to purchase instead of having to rely on the whims of RNG. The system is already in place to add these items to vendors no matter how they're split as well; not only could you separate weapon drops by the zones they are exclusive to (making Arsenals on
Mahra Sylvecourbe
a breeze), but you can separate them by Raid and Dungeon difficulty as well on those associated vendors.
Pandaria Remix is incredibly close to what could arguably be considered a perfect system - the addition of Arsenals would truly bring the quality of life in Remix to the next level for players, and make this an event to remember for years to come.
