BDGG has claimed the World First kill of Sun King's Salvation! This seems to be the first boss that has given guilds a significant challenge.
Mythic Sun King's Salvation World Firsts
Composition and Classes
In terms of composition:
2 Tanks: A Blood DK and Vengeance Demon Hunter.
5 Healers: 1 Restoration Shaman, 2 Holy Priests, 1 Holy Paladin, 1 Mistweaver Monk
2 Melee DPS: 1 Unholy Death Knight and 1 Arms Warrior
11 Ranged DPS: 3 Hunters, 1 Mage, 3 Boomkins, 1 Elemental Shaman and 3 Warlocks
So far, we haven't seen any Rogues or Havoc Demon Hunters represented in the World First kills.
Fight Difficulties - Why was the Fight Difficult?
This fight was made difficult by some of the
last minute hotfixes
that were applied to the fight, massively increasing the Burst damage required to break the DPS

on the Shade of Kael'thas -- you only have 6 seconds to do over 530k damage. Without Bloodlust, you'll be getting two

per Shade of Kael'thas and you'll need to plan DPS cooldowns for both of them.
Healers will carry a large portion of the fight as well, as they are responsible for the majority of the fight's progression. They also have to break their own
Flammenumhang
but this is made easier by off-healers like Balance Druid's
Flammenumhang
, the
Essenzborn
NPCs and external cooldowns like Paladin's
Handauflegung
and
Schutzgeist
. The longer that the healers take to push the boss, the more adds that the DPS have to deal with. Usually, you bring the fewest number of healers possible to kill the boss faster, but Sun King's Salvation is almost the opposite, bring as many DPS as you need to break the DPS shield and keep up with the minimal add waves, then fill with as many healers as possible to make the phase progression faster.
One piece of cool tech that players have been using is canceling the cast of
Steinabbild
, which is the
Ödschwingenassassine
's DPS check at low health. Guilds have found out that using Disorient abilities like
Drachenodem
actually interrupt the cast meaning you don't need to focus the Assassin at low health!
