For the first time since the release of Diablo II's first and only expansion, Lord of Destruction, Diablo II: Resurrected's development team will add new items to the game. A total of six Unique Grand Charms also called "Sundered Charms", seem to offer an incredibly creative way to deal with one of Diablo II's most complex issues: monster immunities. But how exactly do Sundered Charms work? Are they well-designed? And how will they impact the ancient Diablo II build meta?
How Sundered Charms Work
Here are the six Sundered Charms as they can be found on the Patch 2.5 PTR:

Monster Poison Immunity is Sundered

Flame Rift
Grand Charm

Required Level: 75
Monster Fire Immunity is Sundered
Fire Resist -75%
Sundered Charms decrease a certain type of resistance down to 95% if said resistance was higher than 95% before. Simply speaking, these charms break monster immunities: Monsters with 100% or more of a certain resistance are immune to damage of that resistance type.
This Sunder debuff is also applied before other resistance-reducing modifiers, which means that players will be able to further decrease resistances with their own spells and abilities such as Cold Mastery or Lower Resist. The obvious downside of equipping a Sundered Charm is that your character receives a whooping 75% resistance debuff.
The Good Things about Sundered Charms
After quite a bit of testing and community feedback, we have summarized a few of the most obvious pros and cons of Sundered Charms in their current state on the Patch 2.5 PTR:
The Bad Things about Sundered Charms
In general, the addition of Sundered Charms to Diablo II: Resurrected is one of the best choices made by the development team, solving one of the most pressing issues of the game in a very elegant way. The majority of design issues can be solved in the short term, and the remaining, more complex problems are simply outweighed by the number of positives like build diversity that Sundered Charms will bring to the game. Together with the addition of the Terror Zones feature, Patch 2.5 looks to have a long-lasting positive impact on Diablo II: Resurrected's build and end-game meta - and that without directly touching a singular class or build.
