Thank god they made it less readable. Great feedback, everyone!
what would be more helpful is a side by side of the same item to see the font difference in readability. I dunno if it was just the info provided or the scale of the font because this game is being designed for consoles first PC 2nd so they intent for you to be far from a smaller screen because i guess console gamers are too poor to own a pc so they certainly arent going to have a tv bigger than 30 inches so being anywhere from 10-30 feet from the screen you want to make sure you can read the find so... Blind person mode activated? But yea I struggle to comprehend item stats due to the way they were printed out and having to scroll down to read stuff.Never had to scroll down an items stats to see the whole thing. Never had to do that in world of warcraft. If they want to have things designed purely for the sake of console... Fine but at least give PC master race options so we dont have to feel like we are playing a crappy port. If we wanted that we could play diablo immortal and see all the hot garbage that port has to offer
Doesnt help one version is HD and the other is like 340p. Should have chosen a hi-res shot of the new font.
For me the left font. Just because it's "basic knowledge" that sans-serif fonts are way more readable and less exhausting on digital screens, while serif fonts are better for printed / physical media. I think the artists / developers at Blizzard should know this.I know it's a "design purpose", but honestly I'd like to have the choice of the two fonts (should not be hard to implement), so that everybody can pick his favorite. That would be great. For me, it's more than enough that the Item Names already use the known "Diablo Font".
Right one is so much better and fits more to a Diablo feel for me.
Right one has a really low res image so it's pretty bad comparison, but if you ignore that the right one is way better looking imo.
mayb it is the image quality, but i cant tell them apart xDxDxD
Right one is much more fitting for a diablo game. Left looks too cartoony.
The old version is much easier to read
I prefer the left one also tbh. But, then again, the other one is giga blurry. Also, I care so little about this that it is hard to put into words. It is when my gf asks me what color i would prefer on the curtains, and she gives me three blue colors that are exactly the same. So all in all, who cares? Like, for real, are there anyone in here that actually cares more than 5 seconds about the font?
I as well prefer the old one.
I'd love to see a high quality new one because I 100% like the left one more. I also dont care, but I thought it'd be a fun experiment.
The old one was vastly better.Serif fonts are unreadable and don't even look that good.Like the Friz Quadrata font aka the default WoW font - it's horrible.
The new font looks incredibly horrible... wtf they doing.. and how do they think the right side looks better than the left
The left one is so much better, and for me it also feels more like Diablo.
Left is far better. I'd prefer not to see font resembling Times New Roman while playing a game. Those style fonts belong in school reports and newspaper articles.
As I've stated before, I was thrilled with the font choice made in the beta because of readability. The serif font they've replaced it with is less readable in my opinion. It would be nice if we could be given a choice in the settings under "accessibility" or something like that. I thought the font in beta was nice, big and easy to read. I think I remember there being a font size setting, so maybe the serif font won't look so bad if it's enlarged.
I was excited when I heard they were putting in a new font to replace the boring old one we had. However based on these pictures, the new one is way harder to read, looks worse and overall messy. Why can't you just use exocet instead smh
