I still don't understand why ships exist in a world that has mages who can permanently maintain portals....
Ho-ly @#$%. That blood elf boat is perfect. I’m bias to belves but damn that’s neat.Nelf is good. too.
A lot of these old models hold so much nostalgia, but these updates are beautiful. I love that the Northrend ship's rudder finally spins, though ironically a rudder like that would be terrible for traveling through ice, as ice gets stuck inside the rudder and makes the ship's mechanics seize up. You'd have to shut off the rudder or risk breaking the parts inside the ship. I think my favorite update is definitely the blood elf ship! It looks like it would sail faster than the old.
Ok, these new models are absolutely gorgeous. I love in particular the Night Elf and Blood Elf ones, but I am biased!
Realy nice work! And they kept the old models feelings aswell. Warms my heart when it goes like that. BUT i realy miss the ORC ship update /cry. Its not eaasssyy beeiing green!
Love em all! Although I'd rather use the Icon of Blood than the Horde symbol on Blood Elf ship since it looks more Orcish than Elven, it still looks great!
I love most of these updates, but I have one problem. The night elf one feels offbrand. Night elf architecture and themes in WoW, especially something that is supposed to evoke the look of the original design (as most of the other boat remasters do), has historically been the very woody, naturally elegant look. The new boat has too much crafted flare to it, especially with the metal accenting, making it look more like elvish design from a different game than this one.
Ah, the boats that are always empty. :P
I am gonna miss those old models that made these ships look like medieval times constructed structures. Sometimes going "HD" looses the whole meaning of art.
Always prefer the new and updated. Nostalgia is the enemy of progress and I cannot wait until the Live game doesn't have a single cardboard model left in it.
These are amazing.
Interesting. Kinda a bummer that the Blood Elf ship isn't a trimaran anymore. I always thought that made theirs look pretty unique.
Ships are great. It's probably too much to hope for, for the new models to have interiors, except for the first one. I'll be checking, just in case.
