I know we drained the power from our artifacts or whatever; does that mean that the thing itself got out of the dagger? (I've never played an SPriest, so I don't know if we covered this in-game.)
Not Nerubian allied race but I think this directly foreshadows a naga allied race “evolved” to have legs again. One of the most requested playable races. Midnight is all about uniting the elven tribes, nagas are elves technically, we know Azshara is coming back and tied to Xal. Surely there’s some “good” naga that don’t want to ruin the world. The new nerubian models even have multiple arms like naga spell casters. Incoming neutral naga allied race 12.0
One of N'zoth's comments when you get sent back to the Black Empire with Chromie is : "With many eyes, they will see again. They will drink, and be uplifted."
The race that intrigues me in relation to the Nerubians are the Fal'dorei (aka spider-elves from Suramar). If Midnight is supposed to be about "uniting the elves", what are the chances that the mutated, spider ones will be there too?Maybe the Fal'dorei could become our allies, and actually help us explore the world of their Nerubian cousins?Or they could go the other way and ally with the Nerubians, who will teach them their spider ways.I know it's probably a shot in the dark, but it would be a nice plot thread to revisit.
I see a humanoid (with 4 arms but still) Nerubian wearing clothes, allied race confirmed.
Northrend's Nerubians designs looks cooler tbh
Please don't be Suramar 2.0. Class-based society, outcast rebels working against a queen, that queen allying with a greater evil...
Would love a Nerubian allied race the art at the bottom looks pretty sick definitely better than a third dwarf race that not a single player wants no one said “damn you know what would be good a third dwarf race” 🙄
The "uplifted" Nerubians look awful IMO. Original Spiders FTW
Someone mentioned on the wow forums that The Ancient One introduced from hearthstone is Mueh'zala apparently. They do share the same nicknames give in-game during a quest in Shadowlands.
the bipedal nerubians are a solid contender for ugliest race in warcraft
Obtainable Xal'atath cloak WHEN?
I really hope Blizz keeps Knaifu Waifu around for a while. Slightly lower tier villains like her, Queen Azshara, Sire Denathrius, Odyn... ones we can work alongside of at times, against at others, rather than just an all out big bad to kill off and be done with. Makes for much more storytelling than just a Saturday morning cartoon baddie of the week that the big 'world threatening' ones wind up being.
One of those concept arts makes it look like the Nerubians will be using a modified Dractyhr model - so the chance of an evolved Nerubian Allied Race is even higher I think. Especially considering that BfA (subpar that it was in other aspects) still managed to deliver 6 Allied Races on launch, and 4 further Allied Races during patch updates... meanwhile The War Within rolls out ... Earthen, for both factions, and that's it.That said, I wouldn't really play Nerubian but it would be a better addition to the roster than another Dwarf varient with regular hair just stonier skins. Like others, my first thought when I saw those new bipedal four-armed Nerubian models was that the Naga will probably evolve as well so that we can finally get them as an AR (which I would definitely play).
That's quite interesting.
I'll ignore Earthen taking up a race slot if these guys become an allied race.First one in a while that totally feels like it'd make sense for neutral too from both an aesthetics standpoint and lore.
I think the bipedal nerubians look fine, but I wouldn't call them allied race material just yet. While not as egregious a problem as with centaurs, the multiple arms here could complicate how gear fits in a different way; the game only supports two weapon slots, but it'd be kinda ridiculous if a being with four arms didn't use all four. They could work like the dracthyr where they have a race-exclusive class that meshes well with their unique anatomy, but that feels like a lot of work for a design that, at least based on this single comment section, has had a lukewarm reception at best. Maybe work in allied races that have already chosen a side first? Kinda surprised we can't play as ogres or jinyu considering how long they've been a part of their respective factions.
