One of the key developers behind Plunderstorm, MoP Remix, and Follower Dungeons, Lead Software Engineer Orlando Salvatore has announced his departure from Blizzard Entertainment, just shy of 5 years with the studio.
Previously working on multiplayer systems for a dozen Call of Duty titles at High Moon Studios, Orlando joined Blizzard in early 2020, working on World of Warcraft Classic, recreating the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, and continuing on to release The Burning Crusade Classic. Upon becoming a lead within Blizzard's secretive experimental gameplay team, Orlando was a key developer driving exciting side content and game-wide improvements such as the Plunderstorm 60-player battle royale, Mists of Pandaria Remix, Follower Dungeons, and the
Gear Update
system for older character - all while leading a cutting edge raiding guild and welcoming a
new member
to his family in May of this year.
Let's be honest, we've all been there.
Active on twitter and one of the few employees streaming high level gameplay, Orlando brought a degree of relatability (and hilarity) that will be sorely missed among Blizzard developers, but as an avid fan, good friend, and positive influence within the gaming community, we can't wait to see what great new things he'll be creating next!

Plunderstorm was absolute crap.
I didn't find MoP remix fun, but I can see the potential, so I don't mind them working on something like that.
As for follower dungeon... does anyone care? Legit pointless.
Best of luck to the guy, but it doesn't feel like a big loss.
