So does this mean adding an embellishment to a recraft actually works now?
I added armor spikes to my shield and it worked so guess so.
If there won't be a way to add Tier Set bonuses (only after we've acquired them from another source, of course) to our Crafted Gear, then sadly, no; they won't stay relevant for the rest of the expansion. 5 (or at least 4) of the crafted item slots will be worthless. There should be a way to "extract" a Tier Set bonus from an item, and then "attach" it to crafted gear. Whether it be required to be in the Embellishment slot, or in it's own additional slot, I don't really mind or care. It just NEEDS to be possible!
Was profession rework even worth it
It's probably worth noting that recrafting through the public work order system is a huge risk, and not worth attempting right now. Recraft with your own profession, guild, or target somebody that you've spoken with about what you want from the recraft.1) Just recently it was noted that Embellishments were being consumed AND not put on gear when somebody recrafted it.2) There is no way to set a minimum order quality on any orders. You can put in your current item and mats, and LOWER the item level of the "upgraded" piece of gear. Since everybody is spawn camping the work orders, they are just making the orders as soon as they can, which will very likely result in a tier 1 "upgraded" piece being produced off of your tier 5 starting piece, with a (sometimes MUCH) lower item level than you started with.I'm sure that we'll see improvements and changes in the system as the expansion progresses. But for now, be warned. Avoid public work orders. Only send work orders to people that you've spoken with, either from trade chat or your guild or friends.
I've really been enjoying the Profession re-work. It's not perfect by any means, but it's miles better than the way professions used to work. In the past expansions certain professions become almost worthless after the first few weeks. Enchanting/Alchemy was always useful, Engineering would depend on how much work Blizzard decided to put into it that expansion, and other professions maybe had one or two items that were useful. Now gear can keep up with the +item level items that can be added. Embellishments can add unique effects, certain type of gear (like chrono/azure cloth) had its own bonuses, and you can choose what stats you want. This also allows other professions to be useful. Missives continue to be useful, other ones have embellishments that are interesting, etc. I find the "Specializations" for the professions to be rather interesting, however, I wished it was built out better. For example, a spec in enchanting says it adds +10% inspiration to "enchanting goods", but I have no idea what an "Enchanting goods" is. There are "Illusory Goods", but there's already a sub-spec for those, so it can't be that one. Another mistake I made was usually larger upgrades are notated by a larger Diamonds opposed to the smaller ones that only give +x of something. I thought under "Rods and Wands" all I gained was additonal skill, so went down another line. Come to find out the last note actually unlocked the "Finishing Reagent" slot, which should be the larger diamond node IMO.I have some friends that have zero interest in spending much time with this new crafting system, so I told them to just go down the lines that improve how many/the quality of materials you find. They can then sell them for those that are going to be crafting more. There's also a good point someone made about how set bonuses will work once we start unlocking set gear. This would make profession equipment much less useful. Embellishments *may* help a little, but it'll be like the last season of Shadowlands. Everyone will avoid certain pieces of gear because it's already reserved for set pieces. If you went down a profession spec with that piece, you're pretty screwed since there's no way to re-spec. If they added a way to use the profession gear, extract a set piece (destroying that item in the process) and add it as an embellishment, I could see that as an interesting way to keep professions useful. In my opinion this is a decent start for a more up to date crafting system that can be expanded and improved upon. It's far from perfect, it can be a bit confusing especially after over a decade of professions having never changed, but it's a system they can expand upon. If they take what feedback people are giving, it could turn into a great system in my opinion.
I started playing in 2006, and the profession UI-s are terrible to navigate, even for me.Finishing tools + etc reagents are hidden on the craft tab, until you are specialize into them, so you can't even see ingame that what does those items do, only see their confusingly long names.Specialization UI is a mess, it doesn't show you that you can select connected sub-spec when you put enough points into a circle.Craft orders can only be opened at the profession table... Also, its 98% times completly EMPTY (full pop server), because noone uses it, i wonder why... :-)To place a craft order, you have to go to their NPCs, which is fine, but they are on the other side of the city from the AH npcs, so you literally have to go back-and-forth to know which items you have to buy to place an order. What sense does this make?In the AH, if i want to favorite an item, i now have to select THREE variations of it to see all the prices for a single material.
i was actually worried about this since i plan to scatter my crafting professions across a few of my alts in my personal guild bank.now i'll be able to gather what i need on 1 character. send the crafting order through my guild and still be able to upgrade later on.it allows for a lot more gear loyalty if you craft a piece you REALLY likeand it could save a fortune on transmoging gear later if you have a transmog set you like for a class.
i still gont get it how this crafting order thing is good for anyone. :D i mean for example i want to craft the obsidian seared axe is till need to buy all the ragents form ah because i haveto provide the material, and as a JC i cant craft for exaple Obisdian Seared Alloy so it sounds like an extra hustle to me istead of buying it straight from AH , i buy all the stuff from AH and bring it to a craft order npc where i will have to wait with my weapon missing until its in the craft order market... means i cannot do anyithing unless i have an emergency weapon o_Obut ofc its a possibility im missing something here. so pls help me out. i did my reasearch but did not get much smarter form all the guides... ':D
This new professions system is the most goblin proof yet, it isn't designed to makemoney of course degenerates like myself will find a way. I shuffled every single profession twice, used the Darkmoon faire rep buff, and spend over 3000 artisans mettle that I farmed on alts to funnel my main character into skill 100JC with all 3 prof tools and 145 knowledge points, meaning I'm guaranteed to craft any reagent at quality 3 and prospect only rank 3 gems.Do you really wanna play like that? And even from doing that I was only a week ahead of every other glass specced JC. I was selling rank 3 vials for 400g nos I'm selling for 60 soon to be 40 within 2-3 weeks it won't even be worth my time. All the people who specced into BoP gear that requires a time gated reagent that we only get 5 of have 0 foresight. All region wide consumes/mats prices will tank within 3 weeks and we will all be on a level playing field.I made 12M these 2 weeks I'll be lucky to make that again in the next 2 years. This system is designed to help the casuals...enjoy it
