My usual goals for an expansion are to level & gear my main & her professions & rep. Then (partly in parallel), level my 8 main profession chars & their professions (as of SL, on two servers as the profit margin is slim to negative on my main's server - I don't understand why crafters there post 15 items for 1g profit, when the sale rate is 2-3 items before you are undercut, and posting cost for each failed sell is 2-6 gold each time it fails to sell?). Then collect all the patterns for the expansion. Then start to fill gaps in patterns on old expansions.Getting gold is not a goal per se, but having "enough" to collect is, particularly with the price of patterns this expansion (and as I only casually raid with my main's guild now).I can honestly say it's been a lot tougher this expansion, and my initial enthusiasm for the new profession system fast disappeared as I don't like sitting in Valdrakken all day spamming adverts for my crafts. This means I've had to rely on alt-orders to level up the professions from 50-100 and this is still a work in progress on 3/4 of my chars, even at this late stage of the expac. With the added requirement for reputation for the pattern unlocks for Master profession tools, It feels like I can't catch up a lot of the time, which feels frustrating. I've barely started filling gaps in old professions - mainly when I feel I need a time out /off- including the new-old Scholo/Naxx ones.If they keep these systems next expansion my three wishes would be:
Professions this expansion has been a bag of mixed feeling on one side is not worth getting it to max quality, lets say alchemy, is ridiculous more cheaper buying the potions and flask than make them yourself which kinda defeat the whole purpose of having that profession unless you are only looking for one of their unique benenit for your character. On the other hand all of this has cause to get most of the products and or enchanments very affordable. All in all i think they should take a look at some of the flaws that professions currently are facing and make some adjustment that can benefit everyone.
