The Night King will pay for this!
Wait, what about this?
The ending scene of game of thrones se07's finale tho....... blizzard did it before it was cool (wotlk vibes)damn you blizzard , why you didn't make a tv series?
And seriously the wall in Pandaria is obviously the great wall of China rather than the one from GoT...
Another thing WoW has inspired GoT is the way the Night King kills Viserion. The scene resembles a lot to the one where Xavius corrupts Ysera.Of course I also was aware of the Lich King reference when the resurrection happened. My theory is that all the silly stuff with the big chains happened for the only reason NOT to be more similar to the Lich King scene. (Altough it would have been more awesome for the dragon to come out of the ice.)By the way, I don't think G.R.R. Martin pulled this twist from WoW. I don't even think he knows about the Lich King scene at all. (And the whitewalkers resurrecting the dead theme in The Song of Ice and Fire was prior to WC3, so it might have been the other way round.) But I'm sure the creators of the show know about it.
Grasping for straws. Really, really grasping for straws at many of these. Most of these were even in the game before GoT the tv show.I paid for a year's worth of wowhead subscription to help you guys make a better site and then you start churning out stuff like this?First Blizzard and now you guys. For shame.
What about the talking tree Vydhar in the Stormheim forest? It looks like the old tree in GOT.
Horde mount Dire Wolf has a description "Once thought to be extinct except in the far north. Highly sought by those preparing for winter."I think that is a reference to the House Stark words "Winter is Coming" and to the dire wolves that Stark childrens have.
Last few episodes made me relive WotLK Icecrown so, so much.
The kingslayer doesnt have anything to do with the series cuz the achi was released 2 years prior to the series so pls dont make up things
While I can stand character referencess but the titles and other things are so much forced. I know AGOT book is 21 years old and you can try to imply some things but you behave like a typical folk who doesn't realise some words are used everywhere.
ITT: people don't seem to know the books were best sellers ages before the show was even a twinkle in HBO's eye. And just to hush people who have no idea of the existence OF the novels: four of the five novels currently available were released before 2009. In fact only one book in the series has been released since Wrath came out. While Kingslayer is a fairly generic title, people thinking these books weren't known in the fantasy community and therefore a possible source of the reference are just being silly. And if you don't realize there were novels at all, stop posting, please.
OMG - the BOOK series has been around since 1996. Maybe many of you have never heard of it, but it is a very well known book series if you are into the epic fantasy genre. Each book is waited for with bated breath, as he takes FOREVER to write a book - I think there was 6 years between the last book he released and the previous one. We joke that he's going to die before he actually completes the series (he is 68) - its supposed to be 7 books, moved up from 5. Considering many of the Blizz folks are into fantasy etc, its definitely not a stretch of the imagination to see references prior to the TV show game of thrones based on the BOOKs. Here is the A Song of Ice and Fire BOOK series A Game of Thrones (1996) A Clash of Kings (1998) A Storm of Swords (2000) A Feast for Crows (2005) A Dance with Dragons (2011) The Winds of Winter (forthcoming) A Dream of Spring (forthcoming)All of them are award winning books. Also, the TV show and George Martin conferred on the final season as he hasn't completed the book series....
I know this is late but... Oath of Service From the hunter order hall campaign should be up there.
a lot of those are reaches, terrible reaches to get on the GoT hype train cause it's cool now to like it and not whine about nipples on armor. Yet miss The ShadoPan are essentially the nights watch, there's a TON of references to the Night's Watch in MoP.
"Lady" is stretching it a bit too. Could just as easily be a reference to "Lady", the dog from "Lady and the Tramp".
There is also a tree in the Herb Garden for the Horde garrison that looks a bit like the weirwood trees in the HBO series.
