The lack of a proper catch up with knowledge points means that anyone starting now will forever be behind. I really feel like the treatise should be a catch up mechanic.
A friend of mine works on a ship and he's out for many months at a time so he missed the launch (he was super hyped for the professions btw) only to find out that he will probably never compete unless Blizzard introduces a proper catch-up mechanic. This sucks.
hey thats me :D
Bad profession revamp
i think the professions systems missed in so many ways. overly complicated. blind rng systems. expensive rare drop recipes. work order reliant. trade chat spam reliant. bad or nonexistent catchup systems, which also means professions are anti competitive too. material quality system is annoying, convoluted, and unnecessary. way too much parity in specializations due to arbitrary spec tree forks, and due to knowledge time gating. and that's just the beginning. there's more. the list goes on and on. it's not a fun system to engage with. i'm sure it's a cash cow for blizz wow tokens, so they will see it as a net win for themselves. unfortunate
Dragonflight hasn't even had a major content patch yet, people gotta chill with the "OMG CATCHUP SYSTEM NAO!" stuff. It's too early. Relax, it will come when it is warranted.
“This took probably like 8 hours a day for the past month and a half.”This person leads a very different life than I do to be able to play that much.
When they first announced work orders, I thought they would be integrated with the AH so you'd have one stop shopping. The current system has some things work orders only, other things AH only and it's confusing. I want to be able to request an item from a crafter from a single place. It's also hard to know what a guild crafter can craft, especially quality. You can slog through the profession list in the guild UI but eww. The worst part of crafting is getting stuck at 60+ because the design was for work orders to level you up. Except there are none. Not even after the 4 daily cap change. And if you went down the wrong tree, you're screwed because there's no talent reset. I'd even go for a week or month cooldown on a reset to fix mistakes I made.Without a catchup mechanism, it's too daunting to think of working on crafting alts.I like the concept but hate the execution.
The crafting order system is one of the worse system I've ever interacted with. Goldmaking, and especially crafting, is one of the things I like the most in WoW, but this expansion I have to say I hate it so much. It feels like work but worse. Just make items LQE again, and have a catch up mechanism for knowledge. That's all.
i thought blizzard was putting a halt to systems that degens and incels got the benefit of? 8 hours a day clicking treasure boxes and shard hopping? wtf?
