Early Nerub'ar Palace Raid Buff Discovered in The War Within

Reorigination Array
style buff was being considered as a soft nerf the first raid tier of The War Within over time, and it looks like an
early version of the idea
may have already been discovered!

We're discussing introducing a system that has similar vibes to Reorigination Array back in Uldir, the first raid tier of BFA, except we'll be leveraging the quest system. It'll buff players over time. Right now we're looking at the buff capping out at about 20% increased player power while you're within that raid and that will also apply to your Warband! That'll be cool, that'll be something that if you come in later with your alts, you can have that extra player power across everyone on your account for that content. Depending on how that's received and how well that achieves our goals, we'll look to expand that system or try to tie it more closely with our itemization system. There's a lot of ways we could expand that itemization, but we wanted to try to do something for War Within.
The
original Reorigination Array
served as a soft nerf for Uldir in Battle for Azeroth, featuring a hidden weekly quest to kill 3 raid bosses to increase its power over the course of 10 weeks. Only working inside the raid zone, this allowed players to grow in power, whether or not they're getting gear upgrades each week.
A hidden weekly quest stacked the power of the Reorigination Array to soft nerf the instance over time.

Unlike Uldir's Array, which also required activating a specific Azerite trait to gain its secondary stat buff,
appears more straightforward and similar to previous raid specific buffs
and
, which also grew week to week throughout Icecrown Citadel and Dragonsoul. Currently not affecting absorption shields, pets, or guardians, the half complete effect may not actually be the final version of what the Associate Game Director has described above though.
Rebel Yell currently stacks
15 times
, for up to +45%, which is well outside of the +20% target point.
Most notably,
lacks the same kind of complicated scaling steps referenced in the Reorigination Array, though this could be held in a different spell elsewhere. The Associate Director also mentioned leveraging the quest system to drive and grow the buff, rather than the Reorigination Array's hidden kill credit, and we've not found any evidence of that so far either.
Our Frost Mage Guide Writer and SimulationCraft Developer Dorovon also pointed out a new
quest and
currency added in the latest build, which seem to be part of the quest to build up the buff each week.
So, for now, all we can really do is speculate, though it seems likely that this is a part or precursor to the eventual system being added to help players progress through Nerub'ar Palace over time. Whether it eventually comes in the form of a direct multiplicative power increase, stat scaling, or otherwise, remains to be seen.
