The Titans are deeply invested in our reality, our world, and a very specific "true" timeline - but why? Nobbel87 asks this question in his latest lore speculation video.

Where do the Titans REALLY Come From?
I think it’s an interesting question to consider, especially when looking at the Worldsoul Saga and the true plans of the Titans. The question is: why are beings of Order - why are the Titans - homegrown in our reality?

What is the real purpose of all of their cute little installations slammed into the side of the planet? Do we know everything we need to know about their real intentions for our world?
I had not really considered it before - the difference of the Titans compared to the other cosmic domains. We’ve gotten more story about the different cosmic domains - Light and Shadow, Life and Death, Order and Disorder. The cosmic forces that make up the Warcraft universe, all in this constant tug of war.
Next to that, we’ve learned about different zereths - so a Zereth Mortis for the domain of Death, or a Zereth Ordus for the domain of Order.
We’ve also met the Pantheon of Death, similar to the Titans but connected to the Shadowlands. That’s where they’re created, that’s where they come from, that’s where they can be replaced. With that in mind, I think it's safe to say that each cosmic domain has a similar force or Pantheon or units working for them.
We’ve also seen other forces try to manifest and push their influence into our domain. When the Void Lords wanted to corrupt a Titan, they pooled their powers together and shot out the Old Gods - while the Void Lords are still in their shadowy domain.
The Naaru have been great ambassadors for the domain of Light, even fought great wars when their domain was threatened by Revendreth and the Shadowlands.
So Why Our Reality?
Knowing all that, the question for today is.... how come the Titans are born in our reality, in the so-called physical universe? How come the Titans come from the World Souls - they don’t originate from Titan land, from the domain of Order?
That is what we’ve been told after all - that Titans popped into existence after the Warcraft universe came to be. From the Chronicles we learned that,
Even more extraordinary than the naaru were the colossal titans. Their spirits—known as world-souls—formed deep within the fiery core of a small number of worlds. For ages, these nascent titans slumbered, their energies suffusing the celestial bodies they inhabited.
When the titans finally awoke, they did so as living worlds. Cosmic winds howled across their gigantic forms, bodies shrouded in a cloak of stardust, skin crisscrossed with silvery mountain peaks and oceans shimmering with latent magic.
With eyes that shone like brilliant stars, they observed the fledgling cosmos and became enraptured by its mysteries. Whereas the naaru set out to safeguard life, the titans embarked on a different journey. They wandered the distant corners of the Great Dark, searching for others of their kind.
This grand, far-reaching voyage would one day alter the course of creation and shape the destiny of all living things.
No one knows when or why the first titan awoke, but legends hold that his name was Aman’Thul.
Though Aman’Thul was alone, he knew in his heart that others of his kind must exist. Thus, he explored the worlds of the Great Dark Beyond, intent on finding more titans. His quest was arduous and lonely, but it was ultimately fulfilling. In time, he discovered other nascent world-souls. Aman’Thul lovingly nurtured these newfound kin and roused them from slumber. Those who awakened devoted themselves to his noble search.
Aman’Thul and his siblings later became known as the Pantheon. They were benevolent by nature, creatures aligned with order and stability. The Pantheon possessed a natural affinity to the latent magic in the universe. Fully aware of their incredible power, they bound themselves to a code of temperance toward the civilizations they encountered, even those of the unruly elemental spirits.
The titans of the Pantheon came to realize that order was crucial to finding others of their kind. On each world they encountered, they employed techniques to ascertain whether a world-soul was present. The Pantheon would first pacify the world’s raging elemental populations. Then, they would reshape the world, forming great mountains, fathomless seas, and roiling skies. Lastly, the titans would seed myriad life-forms across the newly ordered world. In doing so, the Pantheon hoped to call forth the world-soul and help bring it to maturity. Most of the time, however, the worlds visited by the titans proved inert.
The Pantheon vowed to maintain and protect all of these worlds, even those that did not contain a slumbering spirit. To do so, they empowered primitive life-forms to uphold the integrity of their ordered worlds. The Pantheon also embedded colossal machines in the surface of the worlds that they had shaped. Through these devices, the titans could monitor their worlds—and purge them of life should their evolutionary paths succumb to disorder.
To aid the Pantheon, Aman’Thul called upon a mysterious race known as the constellar. These celestial beings observed the many worlds ordered by the titans, staying vigilant for any sign of instability. When it was necessary, the constellar could initiate a fail-safe procedure to scour life from a world in the hopes of resetting its evolutionary process.
Over the ages, the Pantheon discovered fewer and fewer world-souls. Yet they remained undaunted. They knew that the universe was vast beyond measure, and even after epochs of exploring the stars, they had only plumbed but a small corner of creation. Unbeknownst to the titans, malign forces were also hard at work in the distant reaches of the Great Dark.

What have the Titans actually been doing since the dawn of civilization?
That’s information from the Chronicles which, as with most lore these days, comes with a side note - an asterisk which reads “point of view”. This is the information they want us to know, which can change at any time, but we need something to speculate with.
On top of that, we do have a more direct retelling of a Titan spirit growing up.
Now she lived a history that surpassed the existence of the universe.
Blink.
It was energy, spinning out into the cosmos.
Blink.
It found warmth near a sun, and a world formed around it to protect it as it grew.
Blink.
Generations of life lived and died upon it.
Blink.
It was betrayed. It was bound by something powerful.
Blink.
Pain. Pain. It hurt so much. Its only solace lay within its dream.
Blink.
They enslaved worlds. They burned worlds. They used its strength to revive their fallen souls. It hurt so much.
Blink.
They found another. It was much more powerful. They wanted to claim it, too. Then they would be unstoppable.
Blink.
It screamed into the cosmos for help. Two children answered the call. Two bright lights.
Blink.
Two bright lights... from Azeroth. A world that was like Argus.
Alleria ripped herself free. Now she was lying on her side. Turalyon was shaking her. “Wake up! Alleria! Wake up! We have to go!”
She reached up, grabbed his shoulder. "Did you see?" she whispered.
"See what?"
He hadn’t. Why hadn’t he seen it? Why had she?
"Argus has a soul. This world has a soul. And so does Azeroth. That is why the Legion wants it."
That’s a direct view into Argus’ memories, who came out as a Titan - but wasn't exactly born the same way the others were born - and the dreadlords had pumped him so full of Death magic that his spirit flew off into the Shadowlands instead of going wherever it is that dead Titans are supposed to go, causing a whole bunch of problems… But point being, they were able to transform it, mutate its spirit from being aligned with one cosmic domain to another.
That’s what the Void Lords have been trying to do as well, infect a slumbering spirit and turn it to their corrupted Void state... but how different is that, really, from what we’ve seen the Titans do?
Can We Trust Aman'Thul?
They’ve described it as bringing order to the planet and giving that slumbering World Soul a chance to grow and thrive, to become like one of the Pantheon, but is that really the natural state of these World Souls? If we’re going to go on a journey of discovery, figuring out what the Titans really wanted to accomplish, then let's look back at what we know...
Aman’Thul was the first to awaken and recruit the others to his side.
Aman’Thul charged Nozdormu with protecting the so-called true timeline.
Aman’Thul lost his sh*t when Eonar stepped a toe out of line of Order and dabbled into Life.
What if Aman’Thul is like an Old God or a Naaru, but instead he’s connected to the domain of Order and has wormed his way into the physical universe. As established with the cosmic forces, they’re all about trying to get the upper hand - be the dominant force. What we’ve been led to believe so far - the Titans slumbering inside of worlds and offered help from the Pantheon by bringing Order to the universe, might just be that - Titan propaganda. Fake news! There are definitely World Souls comparable to each other growing within planets, but are they originally Titans or have they been molded to be that way?
That could be what they mean by learning about the true intentions and goals of the Titans and their machineries, but then a question that automatically follows is… why? What would putting the Pantheon in this light - in this forcefully transforming of worlds - offer or change for the story? Well, imagine that Aman’Thul is the only one that’s really part of Order and the rest of his Pantheon are those he himself transformed to be on his side.
This revelation could cause fractures within the Pantheon itself. We’ve already read about Eonar and Aman’Thul having completely different viewts on how far you can move away from Order before it becomes chaos. Perhaps that difference is there because their origin is different. Could Eonar step away from the Highfather and perhaps side with the domain of Life, or Elune?
What about Sargeras? The noble champion of the Pantheon fought against the darkness of the universe until he discovered that the Old Gods were trying to mold one of them to their shadowy side. He was willing to go on a Burning Crusade to prevent this corruption. How would he react to the knowledge that the Pantheon itself is no better, and tries to enforce their own way of life?
What about Azeroth herself? She’s been Orderd for millenia now. What state is she in? Did the infection of the Old Gods play a role in her formation? What about the imbalance of elemental spirits? How would an original Azeroth look? What kind of connection do World Souls have to the forming of the Warcraft universe? Something that made the Jailer very interested in her lifeblood… in her soul.
Then looking beyond Aman’Thul and gazing into the domain of Order, there is the potential of a force behind the force. We’ve got Old Gods but behind the Old Gods there are the Void Lords. If we’d put Aman’Thul in a similar category - like a herald or an agent to bring Order to the universe - then who might be signing his paychecks? What kind of powerhouse would have the capability of spewing out followers that in turn can control the very essence of time? What would the world of the Titans look like - a world or domain we know exists because that’s where something like Argus was supposed to go?
There’s quite a bit of story they could open up by changing the true essence of the Titans and their goals with the universe. All that said, we are still the children of the Titans. Regardless of intent or misinformation, to us as players, our position in the universe has been secured by the actions of the Titans. A universe dominated by the Void or the Light would not have given rise to mortal life as we see it play out for us today - the Titans definitely did us a solid and yet, there’s something to be said about being turned into unknowing, unwilling pawns - into servants of Order - based on false information. I wouldn’t mind a confrontation with Aman’Thul about this, perhaps siding with Azeroth and Xal’atath…
