The World of Warcraft China Anniversary Event concluded this week, with some very
big announcements
for Classic players in the region. On the
22nd of November
, World of Warcraft China will get its very own fresh Hardcore and Classic Era servers!
World of Warcraft in China went offline in January 2023, only returning earlier this year. It has already been a whirlwind six months for the region, with a special expedited version of Wrath of the Lich King that launched in June. Wrath of the Lich King Classic has been hugely popular for Netease, with
Warcraft Logs
reporting over
11 million characters
raiding Ulduar in the region.
The timing of this announcement will raise an eyebrow for some. Classic players on both EU and NA have been expecting some sort of Hardcore Fresh to be announced at
Warcraft Direct
on November 13th. The <Onlyfangs> Streamer guild had previously announced they were returning to Hardcore in October 2024, only for the date to be pushed back to November by Guild Leader,
Sodapoppin
. This curious change of date seemed to coincide with a heads-up from the Blizzard team that something was coming.
Do you expect to see fresh Hardcore Classic servers this year? Do you think they will be announced at
Warcraft Direct
on November 13th? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
