Account Security Warning: Mobile Armory and Battle.net Website
Blizzard
There’s been a recent increase in unauthorized World of Warcraft account-logins via our website and the World of Warcraft mobile armory app.
We’re in the process of notifying any account holders who were not using an authenticator and whose account showed signs of unauthorized access (e.g., logging in from an unusual IP address). If you are among this group, you will receive an email describing how to reset your account.
As a result of these activities, access to the World of Warcraft auction house via the mobile app has been taken off-line temporarily. Upon request, our customer support team will restore in-game items and gold for any accounts impacted.
While no means of account security is guaranteed, every precaution you take to secure your computer and your account—including changing your password periodically—adds another defensive barrier. We strongly encourage everyone to take a few moments to read through the security tips available on our support website and follow the suggestions posted there.

All Character Services 50% Off This Week, New Battle.net Desktop Client
It looks like a new Battle.net desktop client, similar to Steam, may be on its way--a huge improvement over the Launcher. When recently going through Hearthstone data, we found some details on this desktop client:
All Blizzard games are integrated--no more separate launchers for each game.
There are tabs to view information on all Blizzard games, patch notes, and promotions, as well as news and blogs written by Blizzard CMs.
Many Settings options for all games, including game installation, security options, game updates, battle.net app specifics, and network details.
Online/offline modes.
None of the screenshot shown are finalized--this appears to just be an early teaser, although the beta logo at the top left would seem to indicate that we'll hear more about this soon.

Patch 5.3 Will Introduce an In-Game Browser
We saw some LUA strings today that indicated an in-game browser was coming our way and sure enough it was just announced! So far the browser seems to be focused on World of Warcraft support tickets and will allow players to search for answers to their in-game problems without having to leave the comfort of Azeroth!
It's currently up on the latest PTR build--you can clear cache, delete cookies, go to home/next/previous page, and refresh. There is no address bar currently.
We’re adding a feature-limited web browser to World of Warcraft that will replace the in-game support system with a direct portal to the Battle.net Support site. Our aim is to give players in-game easy access to the site’s robust knowledge base and support contact system.
We’ve gone to great lengths to improve our website support systems and we want to offer access to all of its robust features in-game. The new browser will make it it easier to find information to help you resolve issues you’re experiencing or contact our representatives if you need

10 and 25-man Lockouts No Longer Shared in 5.1 on KR Realms
So it's starting to look like 5.1 might have some surprises in store for raiders. The Korean World of Warcraft website
had this update today
stating that in 5.1, 10 and 25-man lockouts will no longer be shared for KR realms--a call back to the days of Wrath of the Lich King where the lockouts were separate and many considered 25-man raids to be vastly more beneficial than 10-man raids. Additionally, 10 and 25-man ilevels will be different giving raiders a further benefit for tackling 25-man raids.
Of course, it remains unseen if this will transition at any point to other realms. At this time, it doesn't appear to be the case.
However, if you look at World of Warcraft's recent PvE scene, it's been obvious that there's a decline in 25-mans that's both felt by the community and heard by the developers. There isn't really a reason to raid 25-mans over 10-mans, as far as time versus reward is concerned; it's hard to maintain a 25-man roster and remain competitive in today's Azeroth. Even world firsts are being tackled by 10-mans

"Appear Offline" Option Coming Soon to Battle.net
In the coming months, we're planning an update to Battle.net that will give you more control over your online presence when playing Blizzard games. Soon, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo III players will be able to select "Appear Offline" as one of their Battle.net social-status options (along with Available, Busy, and Away) for those times when they want to wander Azeroth by their lonesome, dominate the galaxy in radio silence, or slay demons in solitude. When you choose this option as your status, all of your Real ID friends, BattleTag friends, and character-level friends will see you as “Offline” in their friends list whenever you’re logged into a game.
The “Appear Offline” status option will be added to World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Diablo III separately in future updates for each game. For Diablo III, we expect to add the feature in a patch after 1.0.5. For World of Warcraft and StarCraft II, we expect to add the option sometime after the release of each game’s upcoming expansion.
Thanks for your continued feedback, and we’ll share more information on the availability of this new feature in the months ahead.

New Recruit-A-Friend Mount Coming
The
Foguete de Passeio X-53
will soon be a collector's item! Within the next few weeks, a third RAF mount will be introduced and the current one retired from Azeroth.
The mount will likely be
Coração da Noturnala
--apparently it was added to both the PTR and the MoP beta, so it will be the RAF mount! (My bad for earlier saying I didn't know.)
Remember,
you can always post in the Wowhead RAF friend if you're looking to recruit someone before the rocket is removed
. Happy leveling!
Heads up! The current Recruit-A-Friend reward mount, the experimental X-53 Touring Rocket, will soon be cycled out of the RAF program. If you’ve always wanted a Touring Rocket, but haven’t snagged one yet,
this is your last chance to get one by bringing a friend to World of Warcraft
.
While we don’t have an official launch date to reveal for the new Recruit-A-Friend mount, we wanted to give you an early heads up that the changeover will be happening “soon” (TM). You have a few weeks to claim the X-53 Touring Rocket before it goes away.

Blizzard Launches Battle.net Item Restoration System
Back in the day, getting an item restored was a big deal. It took forever and it was a pretty complex process. Everyone had rumors about how many items you could petition for in a character's lifetime and everyone had different stories involving the kindness of Blizzard's GMs.
Well, that's officially a thing of the past now! Blizzard has launched an automated item restoration process. Every thirty days, you can have an item restored via this process. Pretty cool!
Starting today, players can access a new system that will allow players to recover World of Warcraft items that they may have sold, destroyed or disenchanted:
Battle.net Item Restoration
.
With this new self-service option the recovery of an item or items that were recently deleted or sold to a vendor can be restored to a character immediately when using the ticket submission system on our support site. For any items that were accidentally disenchanted the same method can be used to request a review by Customer Support for restoration.
This restoration option may only be used once every 30 days on active Wo

4.3 Raid Finder Loot Rules and Blizzard Preview Footage
Blizzard posted the final raid finder loot rules--a topic I remember many of you were curious about! It looks fairly standard and hopefully will prevent loot being taken unfairly by players who want to grief or gear their offspec over main.
We were also sent a 4.3 video today showcasing Dragon Soul and the three new 5-mans. However, it doesn't have music, so we'll update links if Blizzard's YouTube channel ends up having a different one; we were sent this by Blizzard's PR team and told to post away, but it doesn't seem to be the usual quality for a trailer. Still, it features gorgeous footage and really highlights the instances.
4.3 Raid Finder Loot Rules
As previously announced the Raid Finder will use an altered version of Need Before Greed that provides loot roll bonuses to those that have entered the raid in the role (tank, DPS, healing) that uses those items. Unfortunately the system is currently unable to detect spec, and so this creates some issues for classes that utilize stats that are not "common" to that role.
To help clarify which items you will or will not be able to roll on based on the role you entered the raid i

Diablo III Beta Opt-ins Now Open
Interested in signing up for an advance look at Diablo’s coming invasion of Sanctuary? To be eligible to participate in the Diablo III beta test, you need an active Battle.net account with any Blizzard game title attached to it. If you don’t already have an account, it’s easy to

and clicking the Account button on the upper right. Then, to opt into the beta, just click the Games & Codes section of your Account Management page, and then select the

While running the System Check application doesn’t guarantee you a place in the Diablo III beta, we wish you luck and hope to

Blizzard at Gamescom: 4.3 Announced, Deathwing, Armor Customization, Diablo 3 News, and More
So things just got really serious--4.3, which was a huge mystery, is now pretty much unveiled at Gamescom. When speaking to
Kotaku
and
Gamona.de
, Tom Chilton was very open in just how much content the patch would have for WoW players. " has a whole bunch of content," he said, "three dungeons for five player instances and a new raid instance culminating in the Deathwing fight."
Of course, it's not just dungeons to be excited for. Those ethereals we mentioned a week and a half ago? They're for what most of us only dreamed in our biggest dreams and Blizzard previously said was impossible: armor customization. "We have a wealth of armor sets we created that people no longer use," Chilton said, explaining why they had chosen to add it in.
What we know about 4.3:
Deathwing in 4.3
According to
Kotaku
: "The Deathwing fight will be the most epic boss encounter to date, including a battle phase that takes pla

Real ID Party System No Longer Going Premium
Blizzard announced that their Real ID cross realm party system is now out of beta testing. Apparently it's here to stay as a free service rather than the initially speculated premium one--good news to those of us who made frequent use of this service. Of course, this shouldn't come as any surprise given both its popularity as a service and the negativity it was met with when it was announced as potentially premium only.
We’re happy to announce that the testing period for World of Warcraft's new Real ID Party system is now complete, and the feature is now officially live! We received a lot of great feedback from the community throughout the course of our testing, and we appreciate everyone taking the time to share their thoughts and experiences with us.
For those who haven't yet had a chance to try it out, the Real ID Party system allows players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a 5-player normal or Heroic dungeon, regardless of what realm their friends are on. This new feature makes it easier than ever for real-life friends to play together, and it's available to all World of Warcraft players at no additional charge -- all

News Round Up: Cross Server Real ID Grouping, Valor Point Acquisition, and More
A little while ago Blizzard mentioned that they had a new Real ID feature in development--one that would allow Real ID friends to form parties across multiple realms, so that friends can run dungeons together, even if they are not on the same server.
Well, this feature is now somewhat done and available to be tested for free. Blizzard also mentioned that this will be one of the premium features of the Real ID service, so it might become paid in the future.
When delving into the depths of Azeroth's darkest dungeons, it always helps to have some friends at your side... now you're able to issue a call to arms no matter what realm they play on. We're pleased to announce the new Real ID Party feature is now available for testing! This new feature will allow World of Warcraft players to invite their real-life

of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

News Roundup: Authenticator Changes, Anduin Wrynn and Gelbin Mekkatorque Lore
Just a few new posts today, including some clarifications on the new changes with
Battle.net Authenticators
. Players will no longer be prompted for authenticator codes when logging in from a "familiar" location (as tracked and determined by Blizzard). I assume this means it will simply recognize your local IP and no longer prompt for an authenticator code as persistently, which won't help much in protecting your account from family members or criminals who break into your home to hack your Warcraft account. Those exist, right?
Blizzard has also posted a new installment of their "Then and Now" character retrospective series, featuring Anduin Wrynn. In addition, we've got a new short story in the Leaders of Azeroth series, featuring none other than Gelbin Mekkatorque, leader of the gnomes! Alliance players rejoice, this lore's all for you!
Battle.net Authenticator Changes
If you use an authenticator – and we hope you do – you may soon notice that an authenticator prompt may not appear with every login. We’ve recently updated our authentication system to intellige
