Warlords of Draenor Professions Overview

Our overview takes a look at what's being added for each profession, from useful consumables to vanity items. While Warlords professions will not have combat perks tied to them, there are a ton of neat things you can craft, plus Garrison buildings to help you get crafting materials.
Do keep in mind that profession data is still being updated, and some professions may have additional details yet to come! We'll update this every alpha build with anything interesting we find.

News Roundup: Valor Points, Professions in MoP, Player Feedback
In today's news roundup, Bashiok has been busy on the forums these past few days, covering professions, player feedback, and gearing up with
Valor Points
:
In Patch 5.3, item upgrades are returning at a reduced cost (0
Valor Points
instead of 0
Valor Points
) and several Shado-Pan Assault rewards are being moved down from Revered to a lower reputation requirement.
Justice Points
are sidelined for now, and making players rely so much on
Valor Points
at the start of the expansion was an oversight.
In response to players asking about in-game surveys to provide feedback, Bashiok explained that Blizzard already amasses an exhaustive amount of player data, from talents players pick to what dailies are the most popular. Of course, forum feedback is also useful as it provides insights into player choices.
There were also a few interesting content tidbits:
Black Temple was mean to be in the game at Burning Crusade's launch.
While most of Patch 5.3 was planned out a while ago, Battlefield: Barrens was only planned in 5.2.
Players gave lots of feedback on missing Heroic Dungeons at one point, so Heroic Scenarios are a nod to those players.

Patch 5.2: Guide to Profession Changes
Many professions are getting big changes and additions in Patch 5.2. In this guide, we've broken down all the major changes to all the professions, including new vanity items, reagents, and crafted gear.
Blacksmithing
has the most changes, but there's also a new "Fish of the Day" event, a new archaeology race, and many recipes covering ilvl 522 raid gear and ilvl 458 PvP armor.
We do have one sad announcement to make--
Pierre
, an Engineering pet, is
not coming in 5.2
. Previously he was included in the PTR Pet Journal and PTR characters got level 25 rare versions of him.
Archaeology
A new race is added in 5.2--the Mantid. There are eight common solves and two rare solves (
Mantid Sky Reaver
,
Sonic Pulse Generator
).
Mantid digsites can pop up normally on the map, or
Mantid Artifact Sonic Locator

There are seventeen new achievements--
