Considering the island is named Avaloren, it may be based on the mythical island of Avalon.
Oh please let Khaz Algar be a massive underground kingdom ala «Mines of Moria»! An expansion that goes back to classic fantasy of dragons and adventure is the perfect time to add such a zone. I really love dwarven culture and architecture and a Moria/Erebor/Ironforge zone beneath a majestic mountain with dark dungeons and mysteries is all ive ever wanted!
I expect one will be 10.1 landmass and the other will be 10.2
Perhaps these heretics are Old God aligned titans/etc and will be antagonists eventually.Or it is a Light themed area? Who knows!
Could this be the fabled Other Side of Azeroth? Also, I wonder if whatever Odyn was up to somehow contributes to the Old Gods breaking free eventually?
finally getting new cool dwarf lore? hoping this other clan/group/kingdom isnt wiped out and we get some cool dwarf transmog from it
The dwarves aren't dwarves. The report says they have like the same culture but look extremely different maybe because of an "anomaly" next to the "new dwarves" so old god prison maybe? What else would be an anamoly to the Titans? I would say this is likely 11.0 or later. Just like the Unseen Guests book found at the start of shadowlands. Gave a bunch of mysterious lore that basically never played out over shadowlands, just info for future plots. This expac probably ends with an Aspect (Alex or Noz) becoming disgusted by the Titans (Titans made dragons unknowing slaves to fight a problem Titans created) then the turned Aspect now goes to the heretics land and plots revenge against Odyn, all Titans/Order.
I wonder if these "rebels" are tied to Helya and we may see some form of resolution of her reintroduction since she got dragged down (lol) by the fracturing of her Shadowlands storyline.
You said that Watchers probably don't go to the Shadowlands. So I thought, "Yeah, they go to the Arcane place, the place of Order. Demons + Illidari go to the Twisting Nether, so why wouldn't they?"Which made me think. We saw no dragons in Shadowlands, right? Except Ysera, who was raised into a constellation as if to say that Elune decided where to take /her/ soul. Where was Malygos, where was DEathwing? Shouldn't he have been in Revendreth? But these dragons were Aspects, raised by the Titans.... So they would go to the Arcane place too.Cept DEathwing was pretty far gone, corrupted by the Void, right?Hmmmmmmm
We're getting an Underdark, it looks like. With the Underdark Dwarves, Duergar. I wonder what they'll be called in WoW and if they'll relate more to the Void beyond curse of flesh?
"Avaloren", given it's description coming from a Watcher, could be very well the titanic name for the Dragon Isles. Remember that Prime Designate Odyn was totally AGAINST the keepers idea of empowering the dragons to become Aspects and thus defenders of Azeroth, task that once was of the Keepers. What if the Dragon Isles were kept hidden from Odyn to protect the dragons? What if there was a faction war between Tyr and Odyn over who should protect Azeroth?
I've already seen enough lore regarding Earthen, Titans and Old Gods in Dragonflight that I'm 100% convinced that we'll get another Ulduar-esque raid in one of Dragonflight's patches. Wouldn't surprise me if it'll be Uldorus itself. And it also wouldn't surprise me if it'll be at that moment that we'll start to see more void/light threats which has been teased about for years.
interesting. :)
