One of my favorite things in WoW has always been the holidays. Pirate's Day is a fun and silly interlude before Brewfest - which is one of the best holidays! Great guide, and I'm really looking forward to the next couple months!
I really love WoW holidays, they're one of the few things that keeps me coming back. Having said that, Pirate's Day is one of those that's not really worth doing after you've done it once. I'd love to see Blizz add a little content each year, even if it's a small tweak. Give me a reason to fly down to BB.
I've heard that you can loot the gold yourself from Big Bag of Booty which counts towards Got My Mind On My Money--probably not what you're looking for, but unexpectedly useful if you want the achievement.
Thank you for this info perc. :)
I just got the 50k version of Got my mind on money. I didm't know there was a 200k one. Looks like I need to get to work.
I'm member of Brew of the month club, but they did not send anything at all, is it bugged? or do i have to do something?
Yarrrrrr i gona get all the booty from Big Bag of Booty and pluder all that get in my way
As for druids - when I shapeshifted into my form, the Pirate Costume buff remained instead of changing into Steroid Panther. Not sure if it's intended or not, but I liked it.(However, in both land/flying travel form and aquatic, it switched back to the druid forms. Didn't test it in bear or normal cat form.)Big Bag of Booty is not worth it if you wanna grind loot the achi, since it costs 300 gold, but even if you pick up all the gold, you get only around 270-280 back (according to comments on the item's page).Furthermore, if players wish for new content or additions, a single gold-sink item isn't really what they have in mind.I've noticed multiple times that event guides in forms of a news post usually get rather late on the front page of Wowhead.I'm asking to publish these sooner, since on EU realms the event is usually underway for many hours already when these posts show up. (As for times, the event runs from 10:00 A.M. today to 10:00 A.M. tomorrow here.)I know, I know, you are probably waiting to check personally if there are any new additions, but people from the EU could comment on that and the post could be updated.
Hah. So I didn't realize that the Big Bag of Booty was a stackable item that got used up when you used it. For anyone else thinking this was yet another something that would stay in your bags, it isn't. Also, I did not get nearly as much money from picking up the stacks as I spent on it, but I've only tried it once; so, my experience may not be the norm.Enjoyed listening, as always, and definitely looking forward to BlizzCon at this point. Apparently there haven't been as many blues on the General Forum of late on the WoW forums, and it has me thinking that they must be gearing up for all the stuffs to come!
Thank for the pirate speak tip, I'm certainly going to enjoy that add-on. (: Arrgh!
Thanks for the reminder about the limited-availability achievement!
For those that have done Shipyards in the Garrison, there are also Hats from rewards there there to complete the outfits also.Fleet Commander's HatCaptain's Hat
Too many pirates RPers in Ashran today.
We'll look into getting the news up sooner for EU - if you're curious about Brewfest, our holiday guide page is already updated with the 2015 additions. Also neat suggestions about Shipyard hats, will add.
Two of my favourite in game holidays! Has anybody managed to get Pirate Speak working?
Woo. Time to spend a lot of my money.
Harvest Festival is a European and East Asian secular festival celebrated around the moons cycles in September( harvest moon), it's the same as thanksgiving in the US and Canada (Pilgrim's Bounty) because it's tied IRL to the September moon's it doesn't make sense to move it to August and I speculate that paying homage to heroes is just a way of making it non secular. The Bounty of the Harvest given at the end relates to the custom of laying on a feast by farmers for all those who helped out during the crop harvest.
