Actually, will Thrall ever become shaman again?
So much neglected lore in Shadowlands and THIS-- Green "Orc Fatigue" Jesus, whose story is essentially wrapped up-- is what they focus on... Couldn't even have Metzen as a special guest to make it worthwhile.

One thing I've gotten tired of in WoW is having faction characters drive the plot for both factions with neutral stories, or trying to pass off faction characters as "actually neutral".It's primarily something done with Alliance characters, mostly humans, though Thrall does stand out as an exception (arguably Saurfang too). While I don't think Cataclysm Thrall was a good portrayal, I think part of the negative reaction to him was because he was essentially doing the same thing as Tirion, Khadgar, Magni, Malfurion, Bolvar, Brann, and others, but was doing it as a Horde character.Side note, but the result of this writing is that most neutral organizations are Alliance-leaning, and the only two Horde-leaning neutral organizations are the Steamwheedle Cartel and the Earthen Ring, and that's also tiring.I'm not saying the Alliance have it good in terms of writing, because most of the Alliance's faction-specific stories are just soap operas between Anduin, Varian, Jaina, and Genn, but anytime there's a neutral story, you can bet there's an Alliance character leading the narrative.
Copied and Pasted from a previous post.Personally, I want to see Thrall have legitimate doubts regarding the Horde and its future. Between the actions of both Garrosh and Sylvanas and the repercussions that followed, it would make sense for him to question his own beliefs and ensure history won't repeat itself, even if it means doing things he'd normally wouldn't do.I'm not suggesting he'd go full tyrant, but I'd like to see him take a more stricter direction to ensure the Horde doesn't dishonor itself, and be less forgiving to those who stray far. Given Sylvanas' actions, he'd also probably take his frustrations out on the Forsaken in some form or another, even contemplate whether or not he should've brought them into the Horde in the first place. And of course the guilt he'd feel for all the destruction caused may affect his own judgment and even his will to fight. In the movie Days of Future Past, Young Xavier makes contact with his older self, sees the future and, for a moment, says Magneto was Right. I want to see Thrall have a similar moment, cause I find it really unrealisitic for him to still be optimistic after everything that's happened. One can only take so much disappointment for so long...
Sometimes I amaze myself with just how much I don't care about Thrall or orcs in general. I wish they weren't the focus of Warcraft to the point that they were the only ones who got decent WoW customizations before Blizzard decided to go "eh yeah we're done."
I played Horde for 15yrs for me Thrall was cool but once Cata hits he kinda went down hill to the point I honestly don't care much for the character anymore like for me he's just that somebody we know in the Horde, like right now other then Sylvanas only Horde leader I care about lore wise and game wise is Lor'themar. heck I think his female counter part is probably what he could've been if he stayed like a shamanistic warrior, like we don't know much about her but she seems to be in my opinion more of a brute then our Thrall is right now, hopefully with this council thing they can make him worthy of sitting at the sit cause at this point the Orcs need someone strong cause everytime the Orcs get a strong leader they either trying to find ways to die or just straight up discover a woman and leave them, I know I just went off topic but hopefully they don't screw dude up more then he already kinda was since Cata/WoD.

Never have and never will understand this Green Jesus bandwagon. I've only heard it from the people who were big mad that he got the kill steal on Deathwing-- which he should've. Letting players pretend they have a meaningful impact on the world is stupid. The world is shared with thousands of other players. None of the kills 'belong' to anyone.
A panel about Thrall with out Metzen is hardly worth the time. It's like having an evolution of star wars panel with out Lucas.
