Currently @ LA's MDC on Alameda St. this was a plea deal, he'll probably be in a halfway house in six to eight months; before he is ultimately deported, at which time he will return to Budapest.Removed
Justice served. We all know how frustrating it is when we can't log in for whatever reason. Or when we get DCed. That DC may have happened in the middle of a tough quest, a raid, right at the last boss of a dungeon, while I was doing my third cap in Warson Gulch (go you Ironman!)...We vent our frustration on the forums. And in many places elsewhere.People read of our angst. I(^&(&$ unreliable servers! (*&^%(&654 Blizzard! We are talking lots of dollars in damages here.Plus, back in 2010 the Raid scene and WoW in general was pretty serious stuff.Gear Score! VoA (was that its name?), Ruby Sanctum, Lich King runs. Man, the number of guilds aspiring to greatness. I was there! (But never great lol).Blizzard could have taken him down for a whole lot more.Yup... we've all been ripped off with some really dodgy gear ninja-ing and distribution. Sux.But you'd have to be a total whack job to organise a DDOS.
Removed. On topic, this is a solid response seeking to make an example of a criminal for a crime many expect will never be punished. It thus makes it clear that organizing a DDOS attack WILL have repercussions.
That is taking nerd rage to a whole new level
Am I the only one concerned that now the US citizens have to pay for his jail time with our tax dollars? Jail time no...hard labor yes! Jail should mostly be for violent criminals. We need trash picked up off IH35 in the hot 100 degree Texas heat asap.
On one hand, I dislike the notion of government being used to punish enemies of a corporation, however justified, because corporations, as a group, are evil.On the other hand, Blizzard is an exception to the rule of evil corporations, and this could be grouped with theft as a non-violent crime, so meh it makes sense. On a third hand, BURN THE DDOSers, BURN THEM!
Blizzard should troll him and wait a few hours after he's released to delete his account , so he thinks he still has a life then bam acc deleted.
So who is going to take blame when BFA launches and the servers crash again.... lol
