The only decent looking gear so far are tier sets, which is good or bad depending on how much raiding you plan to do. Finally a black(ish) set for warrior. I had to go back to Scryers rep to learn true black plate recipes.Whoever designs and colors the pve gear should have been fired pre-Mists. Weird color combos, "slap a giant gem on it" design philosophy (which is ironic since gear will have less sockets in WoD), and floating belts that make the character look pregnant. Adding ugly scale underpants is really not required to make it a "mail" piece. You take liberties on cloth and plate, take some with mail. The last warrior tier looked like leather for god's sake. Anyway it doesn't make sense for a hunter to be stalking beasts with her chainmail making enough noise to give away her location.
Suggestion for the game art department... when you drastically increase the quality of each expansion added, you should also be aware of the eventual imrpovement of previous expansions assets (talking about transmogrification here specifically)I doubt that these new armor types would fit with vanilla parts or BC ones (polycount/texture), as flashy as they may seem, the short-term impact on release might be more of value to you.If you want longetivity without the preassure of expanding and yet keeping a solid self-sustaining game (visual aspect), you should be aware of those points especiallythats my 2 cents...I thinkWhat I would like to say though, is that on some of the weapons (some parts of armor aswell, though it was just quality-enhancement) they did top-notch work in terms of creativity/diversity!
i don't like the shoulder's on them too big. tier set warrior the belt looks like a head item too big. the crafted plate is the best one.
Is anyone even going to feel like playing something other than a warrior is worthwhile after seeing these sets? Lol.
Holy hell. In my opinion; every single armor set looks great. Also kinda like how Horde and Ally have their own color set, even though that means the Ally set will never be available to me - I still like that it's different!
Las nuevas tier de paladin y guerrero realmente me han gustado, espero también me sorprendan con las demás clases.
The crafted mail and plate items made me orgasm a bit :O
Hate to pull the girl card here, but yeah, some daintier shoulders would be nice, I agree. I demand more sexy time. :)
That crafted plate is hell of a sexy...Guess I know what I'm transmogging my Pala to...
Nice, used hordie for the models, plus... a female... I'd put 1000+ ups in the post if I could, was getting tired of seeing the humans in there :P
I think they need some new designers most of that stuff is ugly, especially for females. I like the sexy outfits for females. the draenor dungeon mail set is dull drab and ugly. more sexy and colorful stuff.
We had some modelviewer issues earlier this week, but they should be resolved now. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Why is the melee leather set bald? Why? Why? WHY?
So is the new expansion MoP 2? I don't see much difference in gear design from one to the other. I read a comment somewhere that WoW gear is looking more and more like "oversized foam cosplay costumes" and I'm starting to agree. Maybe my problem is that I've never really liked WoW gear for the most part anyway. Its almost impossible to distinguish what class a person is since the majority of the armor looks like its made for a warrior. To many games out there with amazing gear design like D3 so i know they have the ability to do it. I guess WoW is just to old and there is no way to change the cartoony look unless they completely redo the game from ground up. Great game and i still love playing it. I just wish my rogue looked like a rogue. Guess thats why i still wear my BC gear. P.S. The new warrior tier set is awesome though. Maybe ill just play my warrior. =P
Look at the shaman tier, JUST LOOK AT ITI don't know what &*!@ the devs are smoking, but i want some
Looking at crafted cloth helm and it looks AMAZING---until I saw it had that chairback, please blizz remove that lmao.
The pally tier to the right has an error, the helm looks huge XD
It is very sad that the questing gear looks better than all of the others. Also, the helmets! Spaceball expansion. Score.
Draenor Dungeon Mail is one of the best sets in the entire game. It's not overly flashy, and aside from the detail and colors, those shoulders and that cowl work wonders on models that have a little too much room between their shoulders and head (male humans..). Too bad about the cloth sets. Was really looking forward to wear gear from this decade, but it looks like I won't be. At least for the first patch of Warlords.
I'm about to get a LOT of hate for this, but this is my opinion, for what it's worth.What. The.%^&*.Blizz?What sense of style are you attempting to convey with these awful armor sets? I understand you've been doing this "design" thing for 20 years, but can we please get some more variety in your Tier armor sets, please? I mean, these ARE the armor pieces your players are going to be chasing after for the majority of the expansion, and this is what we get? Really?I can understand some of your design choices. Not all of them are completely awful, specifically the Mage, Priest, Warlock and Druid sets; they're elegant, well thought out and convey the sense of what those classes do.But everything else is just horrible. My main is a Monk, and, um....what's going on? Am I supposed to be a lava elemental? Am I supposed to be a leather-clad agile warrior? *shakes head and walks away*
