The movie was great.... for neutral audiences. But as a Warcraft movie it beyond zero.
If we could get another movie I would be so happy
What do you mean "now"? It was on Netflix in my country since like 6 months.
Really should have just been fully CGI in the Mists of Pandaria style cinematic style. No need for human actors to make the rest of the film uncanny. Warcraft has an iconic cartoony style that's charming for a reason. They wouldn't have had to try to make it like LOTR.Honestly I still wonder who this movie was for. It confused general audiences, and just made Warcraft fans mad by the complete 180 on the lore. Will we ever have answers? It's visually impressive, if anything. You just need to turn your brain off.
I hated this movie so much I quit WoW for 2 years and I never really got back into it. Travis Fimmel was easily the worst part of it.
Really wished it did better, so we could see the planed Squeals and more. I dont understand why so much hate for the movie, i went to go see it with 2 people who knew nothing about the warcraft universe, and they loved it wanting to know more to the point they was considering getting into wow
Could always make a netflix Series about Arthas and Durotan
In my humble opinion I think that it was a great adaptation from Duncan Jones. It's like every other book, game or story that made it's way onto the big screen that there will be differences. Peter Jackson had to make changes, and didn't follow the book by the letter. Why? Because you just can't. But that doesn't mean they are bad movies. There are a lot worse adaptations out there, remember Mario, Doom, Deathnote, .... and much more. I don't think that a new movie would be applaud upon, but I wouldn't mind if they made it into a decent serie like the Witcher or the first seasons of Game of Thrones. In that way you have more time to explain and show things then in a normal (or a long) movie.
I explained it to my friends by saying "Imagine if you went to see Batman, and at the very end of the movie, Batman is a newborn child." I don't know or care who wrote it, but it's a shame that person hadn't seen the Star Wars movies. Because if they'd started with Warcraft IV, it probably would have done better in the US.
Warcraft lore is overall pretty bad. There are some cool characters and events that could be put in the movies but if a movie based on Warcraft universe wants to be successful lore has to be changed a lot from how it is in games. That was the main problem with Warcraft movie, it tried to stick to game lore too much and small changes it made were mostly stupid.
As awesome as it was seeing live action orcs - It's a real shame the movie didn't really do justice to the story of Warcraft. Seems like there's a lot of struggled with Warcraft's story lately.
If another movie is made.. I hope it deviates some from Duncan Jones' plan. The second movie sounds.. kind of boring. And the third movie is just the orc part of Warcraft 3. If they do another movie with just orcs and humans and not expanding the world at all I think that would really kill interest in further movies
I actually own it on DVD
Go back and watch some of the cut scenes. Makes you want something like a Snyder cut. It was a decent movie but could have been much better.
