These are just quick summaries and not the full details of the raids and dungeons in the Volume, right?
Some quick theories for Chronicle 4;MoP dungeons; Hard to say. But while I would like to paint the horde as screwing over the land with the Alliance there to fix their mess (partial bias, but god damn it Garrosh), that's highly unlikely. I would say they're evened out. I'll at least give the Horde my favorite dungeon, Stormstout. Given Chen's history with the Horde, seems fair.MoP Starting raids; hard to say, but one faction probably did Vaults while the other did both Heart of Fear and followed immediately to Terrace.ToT; Alliance did LFR wings 1 and 4 (dealing with the Zandalari and taking out Lei Shen), Horde did LFR wings 2 and 3 (Caves and Sewers)Before anyone gets up in arms, this is mostly based on quest context; Horde did steel blood golem tech for Silvermoon and Jaina asks Alliance to infuse a staff with Lei'shen's powers.Siege; Alliance does wing 1, Horde wing 2, both finish raid. Both sides of leaders would have been at siege, so Garrosh had to be cooperation. Would make sense for the Horde to start the invasion ASAP to reclaim Org while the Alliance deals with the fallout in the Vale.Highmaul; Horde. Closer to them, plus seems more fitting. For balance, giving BRF to Alliance.HFC was both. No question. All of Legion was both. This is because the focus was shifted away from factions to classes, so they would be the champions of Azeroth with the Artifacts fighting through these Raids and Dungeons.
Ehhhhh, I'm kinda on the fence here. When the word came out that Varian was getting the credit for offing Onyxia - by this point, it was Wrath of the Lich King - my thought was, "The hell you say. We did all the damn work while he was used for the entertainment of bloodthirsty freaks."
I have a lot of rp characters with long biography related with three wars and dungeons... and when Blizzard changing story like that... MY ASS IS BURNIN'!1
How is it that the horde seems to have taken out most of the threats in vanilla and tbc? Like BRS and BWL should be alliance bc it seems like it'd be something the alliance would be able to do. Why not say alliance defeat Ragnaros too bc they were literally right there at MC while clearing BRD anyhow. At these we took out probably the most difficult raids ever: SW, Naxx 40, and C'thun.
Even as I am a horde to the core player, I'm not very happy with blizzard doing this.On the one hand, as these comments demonstrate, no matter how they split the raids, SOMEONE is going to be unhappy. Several someones apparently. And on another, it really does interfere with head cannon in how events happened. I have a lot of fond memories of clearing grim batol on my orc shaman, as atonement for the many transgressions of the old horde, and as a personal favor to the red dragonflight as part of that atonement. That little story is suddenly no longer canon. And that's just one example among many.I really wish they'd leave this one be. I'm pretty afraid of how they'll nullify more of my adventures in the remaining expansions
This part sticks out as a little strange to me:
The picture of Varian is terrible
Which is why we're all the respective leaders of our classes? They've even said that mythic raids are the actual canon of the world.
initially i was iffy on the sunwell being an alliance victory, but that makes lor'themar briefly speaking with varian about rejoining the alliance back in mop make a bit more sense.
Thanks for this. The r/wow post is full of errors. For example he stated that C'thun were dead when the book said defeated.
Hell of a lot of Horde occurrences while few Alliance...
interesting.
