This just... makes me feel old.
Legend says Usso is still taunting.
Where's the fav button?
lul the thing with the flight path :D
I didn't pay a lot of attention to which patch was which back then, but I think I remember what a difference the flight path change made...
Just to be clear, that first heroic Lei Shen was the 25 -man kill, because Paragon killed him earlier in the 10-man format.
USSO TAUNTA USSO TAUNTA USSO TAUNTA USSO TAUNTA
Oh man, Lei Shen was such a cool fight! The perfect mix between dangerous mechanics, length, and badass! I remember our first kill like it was yesterday. And the whole raid itself had great encounters, maybe only one or two bosses were not even bad but meh. P.S: The Survey has a typo on question 18, it is written "dissatisfied" instead of "satisfied", hence making it confusing not to answer but to read answers (for you) :P
The image of the patch 1.10 makes me nostalgic of this time i didn't even play.
Tier .5 upgrade was probably the most epic and enjoyable content that I have accomplished since I started playing way back in the beta. 45 minute baron and valthalak were challenging to the point that people in full MC gear had problems with it (which made doing it in the gear that it was meant to be done in even more gratifying). Since it was 5 and 10 man content, respectively, there was a much higher degree of personal responsibility... and lets face it, back in 40 man MC, you probably had a decent number of people in the raid who were terrible players, but had enough time to make every raid. The .5 quest-line forced you to be good at your class in a way that I hadn't seen in vanilla.
"and we have World Firsts on 2 of the most iconic raid bosses"Don't you mean ONE of the most iconic, since when did Lei Shen become iconic?
Christ, it's already been a year since 7.2 came out ?Oh and lol, I remember the tier 0.5 stuff - it was a solid idea, but hard and tedious to complete - while it was intended for non-raiders to get better armor, I rarely saw actual casuals with this stuff on, it was mostly raiders who could complete this set once they were already clad in tier 1/2/3. It was widely considered easier to at least get full tier 1 via pugs/friendly guilds, and even one or two pieces of tier 2, if you weren't raiding than to first get all pieces of tier 0 (eight pieces in every other dungeon + RNG galore) and then complete the quest chain to upgrade them to 0.5.
