As a venth PvE hunter, I'm liking any flayed shot buff.
Holy hell, that buff to dancing with fate tho... >.>
Yoooo they implemented my suggested NecroDruid change, that's pog!
Hopefully. The momentum build plays like crap.
NECRO MM IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
That necrolord mage buff is so damn inconsequential, it's not going to make a bit of difference. Meanwhile NF is effectively a dead covenant if you're not Fire..
As a Necro Hunter, I welcome these changes!
Already top performing classes are getting buffed and still no changes in enhancement shaman for 5 patches in a row now? Dead talents, spec bugs, spell bugs, RNG gameplay, limited legendary usage, hard capped aoe…ggwp, I’m out.
Eh. As a Necro hunter, it's more or less missing the mark imo, along with the Flayed Shot change.First, let's talk rotation - Both MM AND Survival essentially will always have buttons to push for their rotation. This means that any ability used that takes up a GCD is an opportunity cost, so the more GCDs you spend casting that ability, the larger the opportunity cost becomes, and it needs to be taken into account. So let's take a look at the SMALLEST GCD cost - Wild Spirits. It has a 2 minute CD, meaning an extremely small opportunity cost. Because it's CD is so long, Blizzard also put more power into it - Assuming no haste, and you use an ability every GCD (Not as likely for MM, but very likely for both BM and Surv), it'll deal up to 2902% of AP in damage (5 targets) every 2 minutes for the low, low cost of 1 GCD. Even with just 1 target, it's still 577% of AP o damageThen let's look at Resonating Arrow - With a 1 minute CD, it has twice the opportunity cost as Wild Spirits. While it's direct damage is pretty much insignificant, it grants a 30% crit chance (So roughly a 30% damage boost overall) for 10 seconds. BM loves crit, MM likes Crit, and it's a decent stat for Survival. Overall, it grants a 5% damage boost every minute, for only 2x the GCD cost of Wild Spirits. Then we move onto Death Chakram - At 45 seconds, it's nearly 3x the GCD cost of Wild Spirits. Unlike Wild Spirits, Death Chakram will ALWAYS deal 353% of AP in damage. Thus, over a 2 minute period, you are looking at roughly 1006% AP in damage (2 full uses of Death Chakram+Partial use), which is nearly 1/3rd the max damage of Wild Spirit, at 3x the opportunity cost. Of course, in single target situations, it's slightly less then 2x the damage of Wild Spirits, but in any AoE situation it's just terrible.Death Chakram also gives a small amount of Focus per use - 21. So slightly less then 2x extra Raptor Strikes, not quite 2x Cobra Shot, or 3x Arcane Shots - Roughly 200% extra AP of damage for all 3, providing you don't cap focus (Strong possibility for Survival)Finally, Flayed Shot - Costing exactly 4x more GCDs then Wild Spirits, Flayed Shot's raw damage sits at 450% of AP damage. You also get, on average, 2 free empowered Kill Shots per Flayed Shot - 2300% AP damage over the course of Wild Spirit's CD, coming in at 2750% of AP damage (Upped to 2950% with the direct damage buff)As we can see, while Wild Spirits is by far the weakest ability in single-target situations, it's also the strongest in AoE situations by a solid amount. Flayed Shot is consistently powerful in single target, but has the highest opportunity cost as well, sitting at 12 GCDs per 2 minute period. There's also stat scaling - Death Chakram does NOT scale with Haste, unlike the other 3 covenant abilities. It ONLY scales with MM's Mastery.Overall, Death Chakram is just @#$%ty ability design. I'll likely swap my Hunter to Venthyr once I've finished off all of the Necrolord's vanity items in a few months.
Why feral is not touched in pve(m+) at all? Just only some necro conduit. Feral on m+ sucks af and still nothing changed in this direction....
Necro Hunter sounds really fun and i would love to play it but i trink it needs a little more to compete with NF/kyrian
Hunter anima powers should have some permanent damage buffs, just like the ones for other classes. Throw away all these temporary and phylactery-breaking things. There is none in boss' rooms anyway... SV needs something for raptor strike/moongose too.
That anima power that makes your pet (hunter) to kill a mawrat on sight instantly and gain 100% damage, they removed the 'Cooldown' on it? Did I read that right? If you jump into an army and there are a lot of mawrats, does it mean your pet will insta-kill one by one, every second and keep the buff longer? Dunno if this is right, since BM and SV, at least, depend on their pet's attention to use Kill Command for example, and they won't use their basic attacks that much if they constantly move out of their target to snap a mawrat...
