Luckily, my wife and I just bought the Guardian Cubs. Now if only the plush-and-digital pets (wind rider and gryphon) were still around?(Not liking this captcha thing...)
Digital item going away? This seems more like a "wasn't selling well, let's significantly boost sales" type thing.
What? You can't kill him if he's wearing people clothes!
Sometimes it feels like WoW is becoming more about the store items than the game itself.
And I thought it was my bad luck my shaman couldn't get that dark shaman set.Oh wait it is
"Ethereal Soul-Trader can no longer be summoned in arenas and battlegrounds."NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
So the F2P game (Guild Wars 2) gets constant FREE world, quest and constant updates (Living Story), while all the P2P game (WoW) gets are cash shop vanity item updates. I see now why they call WoW a pay to play game :(
What was wrong with having an Ethereal Soul-Trader out in battlegrounds and arenas?
I might look upon these items more favorably if it was possible to obtain them in-game, possibly through some special quests, or if these cosmetic items weren't so ridiculously overpriced. As for doomsaying, I've been playing this game for a very, very long time, and I've seen the good and the bad. I've also seen a lot of people loudly proclaiming every single patch and expansion to be the worst ever and the doom of WoW, and yet here we are. I will give praise and criticism both where and when they are due, and with the going rates for subscriptions, expansions and services like character transfers, the prices they ask for what are ultimately decorative items are just silly. As for the Free-to-Pay issue, most of the games of that sort in recent memory are more of the Pay-to-Win variety, or quite restrictive to free players. The most egregious offenders even peddle high end gear in their cash shops, along with putting a significant damper on XP progression on free accounts and locking several features.
