I like the new poster for Garona's pose and the warpaint but miss the mountain backdrop. I agree that it's really weird they can't get her skin color right for some reason, but I way prefer her with clothes on and fighting instead of looking like a stereotypical 'damsel in distress' character (I really hope they do her justice in the movie instead of using her as leverage for gross geek money...) I also agree that the Worgen face looks real bad, but can see how the Goblin looks a bit plastic-y. The Tauren probably needed more work, too
Original is better except for Garona's skin color looking like human.PS But tbh both are pretty crappy ~_~
I prefer the original poster. It really comes down to the lines. In the first poster all of the lines draw the eyes to the centre of the poster, whereas in the second poster the lines go all over the place, leading to confusion.
Wait.. that was supposed to be a Worgen? I thought it was a Gnoll or something.
I watched the full episode of Face Off when it aired... and I was blown away by the Draenei DK. Anyone else think it was ready to hit a movie screen with that level of detail?
I like bits and pieces from both posters, though like most everyone else I also think they still can't get Gerona's skin tone right. If I had to choose a poster, though, I'd go with the first one. I like the mountains and how the elements fill the whole space.
If these were the actual make-up artists for the movie I'd not even bother to see the movie for free. That said: they probably have less means available not to mention the CGI possibilities for the movie. I think the dude making the Draenei had the "easiest" job. Daenei have the most human-like basic face structure features. The tentacles and forehead can simply be added to a human face. The leg part of course is a little more difficult but that did not seem part of the challenge. The other races have much more difficult face structures since they do not really match a normal human face...
The prot warr animations all look pretty good, though i still think heroic throw looked better in its old version where you actually chucked your weapon, instead of the teensy little streak you see now. Neltharion's wrath could be beefed up a bit, perhaps the dragon head could be larger, more transparent and actually emerge directly from the shield.I like the new attack sounds and the way you actually voice now with taunt and shouts, I want to hear what the other races sound like now
Looks like devs took liking in JoJo. Might of Vrykul is definetely looks like stand.
Troll really was the best out of the bunch, but the actor didn't have the stance to make it work.Undead Spacegoat and Tauren are terrific, technically, but don't look right as far as wow characters. (Though would be pretty awesome in a Lordi video)Goblin and Worgen - Just didn't work
I prefer the second poster, since Garona (even though her skin shade is all wrong) looks much more badass and less like she's about to take the stage at a topless bar. She's approximately the same size as the first poster. Also, the black allows for the two "main" characters to be more effectively highlighted. As for the Face Off episode, they didn't care for the gobbo because the makeup looked very fake and like a mask. I personally preferred it to the worgen, even with the muddy paint job and extra shine on the goblin. That worgen is just.... ugh. The judges even mentioned it was unfinished, even though she did hands and feet for the worgen. I think it was a close call on the bottom there.Rob Kazinsky said it best about the Tauren. It's a great makeup, but it's not an accurate representation. I thought the guy did a great job w/ the makeup as a whole, but the face and general lack of that "MASSIVE" feeling you get when playing a Tauren was missing. The girl who did the troll totally killed it. I loved the troll! And the winner, the Draenei DK, basically looked like he walked outta the game, to a certain extent. It was a good episode. :)
good
My wife and I stopped watching Face/off a few years ago because the talent was getting weak. Glad to see that we are still not missing anything.
