Some random tips for fresh 100s:- Honor gear is really good, it's preferable to wait to spend it to fill in a gap or two with gear unless it'll get you to the breakpoint. If you do Ashran, most honor comes from the objectives instead of the main battle. If you're patient and your faction is capable of winning them, events can be done infinitely, but the static objectives are on a daily reset timer- If you have spare gold, buy up Stage 1 640 BoEs and don't equip them, keep them in your bags. It'll count towards your ilvl as long as its an item you 'can' equip. Resell once you have the appropriate ilvl or other 640 items to equip from Highmaul LFR. Don't try this shortcut method as a tank, easier to pull off as a DPS. There aren't too many good trinkets in LFR, so odds are you'll equip the Darkmoon 640 and keep it for awhile.- You'll need 5k crystals for the legendary quest so I found myself never buying the starter gear- World bosses can be looted by sub 100s. If you play on a high pop you can hang out by the Rukhmar/Drov/Tar spawns. I'm actually doing this already to get more shots at the Solarspire Hawk mount. Group Finder is a mixed bag, leaders can be picky and not invite sub 640 DPS. However if you're a tank/healer/or Warlock role, you'll have an easier time getting in.- In 6.1 the 615-630-645 mission gear tokens will be BoA, which is huge. I don't think it'll be retroactive though, but definitely hold onto those. That'll be the most efficient way to gear up for fresh 100s if you have other characters to do missions on.- Pair up with a more geared friend to run through Normal Highmaul. When you sign up for groups in Group Finder, you'll show up as a package deal.
Great tips! I don't think the mission gear tokens are BoA though in 6.1, from the ones I've done on the PTR :( Theres some BoA versions of the ilvl 630 tokens, but I haven't seen them attached to missions.
Well that's unfortunate. ><Also on the invasion front, I should mention that the Botani invasion is way easier than the other ones to get gold on, you can approach 1800 on them. So you can farm up your own and then make the group, won't have to worry about groups denying you. IH is also pretty easy and is 1200-1300 usually. It's not the most time efficient thing to do though since the 645 piece isn't guaranteed from the bag, but it is a chance at one of 4 mounts too.
There is some outdated or just plain incorrect info I figured I should point out in this guide. First is that Rukmar is always up and is a separate loot lockout from the other world bosses.Second is that as far as conquest goes, the special events that appear in the four zones of Ashran award 125 conquest and 250 honor if you participate and win. There are almost always"event groups" going that ignore the main road and just farm those rewards. Ask to hon one as soon as you enter Ashran. These conquest points also count towards the 200 Ashran only weekly points, you don't have to win Ashran to fully cap.Lastly, boe drops from highmaul and Blackrock foundry are the iLevel as the loot bosses in the insurance will drop, not just 655. For instance heroic highmaul gives670boe and Blackrock normal gives 665boes. I hope this helps, even if it doesn't make it into the guide.
the engineering googles aren't bop. they never were in live. not sure if they were in the PTR for WoD.
How do you flag a guide for correction? Crafted pieces of armor are 665 at max, not 670.
The engineering goggles aren't BoP they just require 600 engineering to equip.
