I thought that in the second war, Khadgar was greatly and irreversibly aged through Medivh's magic / treachery? That means it made sense for him to appear / sound old when in reality he should be in his early forties. He would have been young as Medivh's apprentice, so the movie (from what I remember) was accurate in that regard. Am I way off? It's been a long time since I read about Garona assassinating King Llane and Medivh showing Gul'dan how to build the dark portal.
I used to care about Warcraft lore a lot, but now I treat it in the same regard as the “lore masters” and writers of the game; I don’t, at all. There are tons of inaccuracies all throughout the game and even in this interview in regards to Khadgar from the director himself. The most egregious of little mistakes recently would be Sylvanas saying they wouldn’t give the Night Elves a peaceful nights rest in the war of thorns. They’re nocturnal!
Sorry for being rude. I thought that someone was offended by my post and hastily deleted it, lol. Stormrage isn't doing so hot right now and it's ruffling my feathers.
I'm tired of seeing khadgar in game for now and its good he isn't in the bfa storyline for now!It was like he's the only one who cared and the only leading hero there....
Khadgar aged considerably because of having his life and magical energy sucked out of him by Medivh. "Khadgar fought and managed to best his master and Sargeras by plunging a sword into Medivh's heart, but not before having his life and magical energy sucked out of him. By the end of the events of The Last Guardian, Khadgar had gone from a young adult to a frail old man with a great white beard."
I remember some speculation that Khadgar had found a way to reverse his aging curse, somewhat. It would have been a more elegant solution, and could have been done with a throwaway line during questing or something.
Anyone who knows who Eitrigg were before his unexplicable appearance in Legion would tell you that these "lore masters" are doing poor job. Right now he just fills the niche of "an orc guy who would play some important part in Horde campaign", nevermind that he had as much backstory to him as Saurfang at this point (including a novel), used to have a son (who might never be mentioned again), used to have very strong connection to Tirion (which was outright ignored in Legion) and is far older than even Saurfang (even said to move slowly due to pain). Why couldn't they just put some other memorable NPC with not as much lore behind it, like Bragor Bloodfist who has been standing next to Sylvanas for 10 years, instead of butchering Metzen's character?
Tirion was "ignored" cos he DIED.As for Khadgar, the years caught up with him. With his shave and makeover, he now looks close to his actual age (which is not young).
I consider lore from WoD onwards fanfiction. I try to... just to keep my sanity. I really stopped caring when I learned they keep trying to push the "Light is evil too" idea. But some of it is actually good, at times. So I take those bits and try to hang on to them, I love Warcraft's universe too much to just quit.
Tbh, I tend to treat the movie as an AU Azeroth given the many differences within it. It makes far more sense to me in that vein, as for Khadgar in game looking younger, well people do tend to look younger when they shave off their beards irl lol
the warcraft movie is an AU to start with so none of its "lore" is relevant to MU unless mentioned in MUthat movie was such an abomination
Wait, didn't they say all along that Warcraft movie was AU lore?I mean garona is Medivhs Daughter instead of lover (quite a difference)...And a lot more...I am sorry, but WoW is known for a lot, but not at keeping the story straight... FFS! they had to retcon their own chronicles o a few minor occasions...Noone really has the overview...WEll I hope we get a few good stories in BfA... but the overarching one was 'Meh' so far
When in doubt just retcon until it makes sense.
