,
Sanzeau
,
Mekalb
,
indrek
,
kano
,
Zethd2
,

, and
ozerodash
will all be pushing with their own teams to conquer Diablo and the Lord of Destruction.
Racing Through Hell
The first goal will be to clearing through all five acts of Diablo II on Normal, Nightmare, and Hell difficulties, a single player race which typically takes around 3.5 and 6 hours, depending on class, though teams can complete it in as little as 2-3 hours. As this is purely for bragging rights, there are no stipulations to this race outside of seeing who defeats the bosses first!
Diablo II speed running is generally
split by class and game mode
, with hardcore taking longer than softcore, and Paladin speed runs taking significantly longer than Sorceress.
The Pandemonium Event
After completing Act 5 on Hell difficulty, the team will be challenged with taking on the final endgame content in Diablo II - the Pandemonium Event. Added in patch 1.11, it represents the pinnacle challenge in Diablo II, through a hidden questline very similar to crafting Hellfire Necklaces in Diablo III. It tasks players with collecting three sets of three special keys in order to open portals to Uber Duriel, Uber Izual, and Lilith, who will in turn drop special quest items relating to each of the Prime Evils. Using nine keys in total to collect all three quest items will then allow players to open a portal to Uber Tristram for the final challenge. In addition to a variety of unique monsters, champions and their minions, players will once again face all three Prime Evils, now greatly empowered.
Uber Boss & Pandemonium Guide
Each boss is level 110, regenerate life at twice the normal rate, and have 3,360 defense, making them very hard to hit with conventional attacks. In addition to their normal abilities, they also have new effects to make them even more dangerous:
Pandemonium Diablo
(not to be confused with the
Uber Diablo clone
) is the groups tank, summoning physical immune Pit Lords and casting Armageddon to rain hellfire down on players.
Uber Baal
is a support caster which summons Ghoul Lords and Ghosts, while using all the same harassment spells as his previous incarnations.
Uber Mephisto
is perhaps the most dangerous monster in the game, using Conviction Aura to reduce player resists by 125%, while summoning endless skeletal mages and archers. He is also immune to poison, lightning, and all forms of leech unless cursed with life tap - often considered a necessary strategy to defeat him.
While high level and well geared players can smash through the event in a matter of minutes, it isn't nearly as easy for newly leveled characters. Separating the bosses from each other, as well as their various adds, becomes very important for survival, but defeating all three Prime Evils will award the unique
Hellfire Torch
charm and the
Standard of Heroes
.
Despite being a 20 year old game, there are still players dedicated to theorycrafting new builds and setting new records, though the challenge won't be nearly this easy for newly leveled characters!

Wow some sad people in these comments.. They've been playing the game for decades.. He's been speed running for years. You think that they need to "take it slow" to enjoy the game. They've been enjoying the game in more ways then you can even imagine. They test the game mechanics, create builds, speed run and do everything else the game provides.. People who wonder why they do it, it's because they have an audience and they enjoy it. You might not.. so don't watch. Simple. So many snowflakes these days crying about what other people enjoy.
I think you are missing the point here. This is the classic "World First" debate all over and a plague that is going to happen with remastered games. An arbitrary claim for "World First" for something that isn't really World First. To claim World First, you are a claiming that it has never been done before and therefor you of all people within the globe are going to achieve it. Its a gag for bits and a gag for followers a marketing scheme to get more money, kind of smart and kind of silly at the same time. I personally care less about these silly competitions and I do believe that this is the dumbest thing I have read this week.

Race to world first in D2R? LOL who cares
When marketers discovered a trend and don't understand why it was popular in the first place, then they run it into the ground.
