I love the Secret finding community!
Huh, my taming video got mentioned? Neat! It's not the extended one, but to be fair I blame nobody but myself...at least the short 30s one doesn't deal with watermarks. xDDefinitely was fun helping the Secret Finding Community with this hunt.
How flippin interesting! I was trying all sorts of things yesterday. Great find!
Neat! I was trying on both my MM and BM hunters the last few days and thought it was just the devs not wanting to give us mutant big cats :CNow I just need to finally get a hunter going that has an in-character love of cats instead of foxes or puppies lol ;;;;;
Was watching Petopia forums all night for this, lol. Finally got a yellow one. It doesn't seem that the meat drops in a group. Although this isn't confirmed. Me and another hunter are testing.Edit: just got 1 meat while typing this. Solo.
Good to know, ty!
There's quite a bit of progress being made in other discords, like the Lucid Dream. These little puzzles are so exciting!
Oh, cool! I used Beast Lore a couple of days ago and saw that they were tameable (or at least the yellowy ones were), but that's neat that there's a trick to taming them. It's still not as cool as tracking the Pandaria rares, but it's pretty neat.
Still not fond of how a totally normal animal requires a stupidly low drop rate item just to tame. I tamed one, but I was lazily farming for 3 hours with a few others before I saw ONE drop. Terrible. Good on the secret finders for figuring it out in such a short time, but a big "screw you" to whatever Dev thought that was clever to implement. Put puzzles on cool vanity stuff like the sun darter or the pink mechanostrider mechanical pet, not normal hunter pets that litter the entire new zone.
I've done this twice now, failed both times :(I used freezing trap, went to use the meat and before I got in range it aggro'd on me?unless you're not ment to drop the meat on top of it and place it near the panthara instead? any idea's?edit: tried a third time using camo, still failed :(edit 2: PSA to hunters trying to tame panthera's, make sure you DO NOT have active, seriously it will save you alot of stress.
Fresh Talbuk Meat Farm Route: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8K_bjrYX6s&t=164sAnother Taming Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGvzgUWEMCMAgain Special thanks to the secret finding discord, was actively on when the first tame was successfully reported this morning, had some really bad rng with meat farming so just now got an upload.
Hi Peeps, I am not good on creating guides. I am here though to share whatever happened over with our WoW General Secret Discord community that was part of the secret finding. Feel free to use both WoWhead and the pet-information we have gathered below for your peruse to refine a better Guide in WoWhead or your personal Blogspace. I will try to constantly update this comment as more findings are shared from our tests on both PTR and Live.From @Kode#1674 ( Me ) Before we start, we need to understand, this is a Delicate and Difficult Process for us Hunters. You'll need to comprehend two important aspects for this tame as a Hunter besides knowing a Beast tame basic. ( No Proc effect items, buffs)Tame Requirements :- Camouflage - Fresh Talbuk MeatYou will have to also spend a short span of 30 minutes to hours farming for an items drop call;Fresh Talbuk MeatOff these poor creatures which we will be slaughtering in Korkuun. Chitinous Cragscaler and / or Wild CragscalerNow, this is THE most difficult part of the preparation process. As of this current writing, the most efficient way to farm this item drop is only in Korkuun to the Grove of Narou. Farming Route Courtesty of @Frosty#8454 Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8K_bjrYX6s&feature=youtu.beImage : To be updatedThe Drop Rate is 1%-5%. Fresh Talbuk Meat CAN be traded by players in your Realm at the moment. It cannot be traded via Cross Realms. But wait, this is not where the magic starts. Hold on to that Meat that you found even if you have it in your inventory. We'll explain it why later. For now, to the Taming technique section summary!From here, this is the most delicate part of the Taming process. By delicate, I mean a very short window time-frame. In summary, the tame process goes like this;From @Tomb#8847 In summery: * Kill any Argus Talbuk until they drop the SUPER rare Fresh Talbuk meat. (People can also sometimes sell the Fresh Talbuk Meat at the Auction House.)* Find a lone Panthara.* Freeze trap it without getting aggro. Survival spec is prefered. For camo. (Feign death to drop aggro if you got it when throwing freezing trap.)* Throw meat on top of the Panthara. * Start taming. The buff do not last long!Tame Process Explanation From @Dogren#2261 Okay, so here are the hints we currently have:Make sure that you put the meat directly on the cat, otherwise the bloody effect doesn't always work. Also, when you approach the one you want walk up to it until you aggro it, then take 3 steps back and then feign death, that is the spot you will go back to after you put the meat onto it and start capping as fast as possibleWhen having trouble getting the meat, try this. due to the new grouping up process, a group of 5 working together can all loot the same talbuk, so going in a group and killing is a good idea.To add to the above sharing, we have successful tames in a party ( even via Cross Realms). You can grab the Tame so long as you do not established Aggro and the Panthara is Bloodied along with / CC-ed by Freezing Trap. The Bloodied buff is invisible to the Unit frame so your party needs to do a careful co-ordination on this to perform the uninterrupted Tame. There are claims you do not need to CC with Freezing Traps. As of this writing, it is indeed proven doable! The Freezing Trap suggested is for pure Assurance as well as an Indication, a Hunter Tame is in progress for Etiquette Purposes. Proven Methods- Ensure you follow Tamer Basics 101 ( No On Proc Effect Items like Trinkets,Enchants, Bodyguard Buffs, Talent Buffs like Lone Wolf )- Be in Survival Spec or Marksmanship for camouflage as the Throw Distance is very Short- Pick a Panthara (ideally asleep and stationary, out of range of other Monsters / Critters), Freeze Trapping it is a good measure for assurance- Camouflage and approach from behind, taking good care to sneak and not jolt it's aggro table to be established - Get your Party member to Camouflage in near the Panthara and ensure he/she isn't on Aggro table- Preferable use Discord or Voice Chat to co-ordinate instead of Text Chat- Throw the Meat directly ON to the Panthara (Ideally the Head and Torso upper section)- Once the Gore Splash is over the Panthara, have your Party member start the Tame ( Ideally from behind or within Tame Range )- Enjoy your new companion! :)- *NEW You can perform a successful Tame on a Bloodied Panthara should it attack you after you see the Meat Splash from your / partner Meat Toss as you channel Tame Beast. So long as you maintain that channel, you'll get the Tame. It is not known why but this 3 sec window of Blood Splash Effect without establishing an initial Aggro Table holds the Key to this tricky Tame.Needless to say, You must NOT establish Aggro once the Panthara before Bloodied as the Tamer.I've personally conducted both LIVE and PTR tests to localize the bug tames during the process of Bloodied effect and after the Bloodied Effect. See the *NEW for updated information for the heads-up Proven Debugs and Tests-You cannot Tame successfully a Bloodied Panthara on Aggro-You cannot Tame successfully without a bloodied Panthara due to the passive Defensive effect called Shimmer-You cannot Tame successfully if the Panthara has aggro on other targets including you ( such as a griefer establishing aggro )-You cannot Tame the 112 Level Ultra Huge Cats yet- You cannot tame so long as the Shimmer Effects emotes out ( There is still a mystery debunk at the moment as we are grabbing reports from all around, some tames are pickier than usual and decided to shimmer despite performing 2 known methods of procedure to tame )* NEW - You cannot perform Tame Beast once the Bloodied Effect is over. The bloodied Effect lasts approximate 3 secs from Throw.Take into account for your network latency- You will not be able to Beast Tame successfully if the Panthara engages during a scripted combat ( such as a Talbuk )Theories to Debunk - Rogue Sap / Distraction with Meat Toss and Tame BeastVideo Links on Proper Taming By @Kym#6910 *UPDATED with Mac'Ree*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHKhmLUvW6YBy @Frosty#8454 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGvzgUWEMCM&feature=youtu.beWOWheadhttp://www.cuckhead.com/news=271022/taming-panthara-pets-discovered-by-petopia-and-secret-finding-discordLike I mentioned earlier in chat, my theory could never have worked out without the help for the whole lot of you in this community. Why... it is Bloody Nyan-fying!"My Theory Started off with the Eco-system of Argus and the news we have new tameables. Every beast can be tamed normally with 1 exception. The Cats called Panthara. I've Tried hours taming it, working around the Shimmering effect it gets whenever a Channeling Spell such as Beast Tame, Light's Wrath is incoming. I 've scoured areas on Korkuun for a suggestive interactive object to this Beast after mind mapping every single action, idea this Discord community has suggested, tried, cried and failed. I took everyone's quietness, failings in and try their theories personally wondering why it was so before coming out this theory. It took me 3 hours to mind map our findings together over on an A3 size paper. It has to do with the Vanilla Pet Happiness. To do that, we need Food. From the environment scouring earlier, they love Talbuks. On Beast Lore, they enjoy Meat and Fish. Snap. I went on a grand crusade of killing every single Talbuk I can find. On the 5th hour of farming, I got what I need from the multitude of molars, droppings, Leg bones, viola...FRESH TALBUK MEAT. Now, TaliHawk did mentioned this. I got curious. I ran to the closest Panthara that was sleeping. In my excitement, I fumbled ( or at least, didn't knew the range was so short an arm's throw). I managed to land the Meat onto the Panthara and myself. I attempted Tame. The Shimmer effect still is in play. I got very very upset. Disheartened, I killed the creature and head back to this Discord to share my findings.This was when Ali and Alphariana came in to offer to test, encourage that we MIGHT have a Lead. Ali shared the Meat IS the Answer. I was skeptical since the last encounter. We did a WowHead search. Turns out, the meat is STACKABLE. That prompted us all into endless discussion that the possibility wasn't a normal Beast Tame...but a combination of NOT deactivating the Shimmering Effect aggressive, but BEFRIENDING the Panthara with happy food. ( Like a kitty! when it needs food! Oh those nyans..~ XD ) We farmed hours for some stacks of Fresh Talbuk Meat for redundancy. That was when the community shared, "with such a low drop rate, and a short Potion cool down, it has to be it. Why not you collate the meat and throw some at the Creatures to see if the theory works out for any effects?" That took us all by storm. Before long, everyone started contributing. Everyone started testing on this insane theory of mine that I almost abandoned. It wasn't the process or gimmick we need to get the tame, it was the SHARING of how to get it! I felt stoked. Colortinker, later on, helped break it to the world then, by been the world Discord group's first Panthara Tame to prove that this crazy, insane but wild theory worked. ( I was tired and got to sleep by then as I'm only working on a theory, the activist and contributors help steer the boat even further to make it successful )And the rest, as we now know it, become History. :)I am still reeling a little. Thank you Everyone at WoW General Secret Finding Discord. We've made not just myself happier a mystery solved but everyone, as a hunter out there, got their wonderful and just deserved Nyan Companions. Now, on to sleep.
Finally, I recently left my pet from the 5th slot at the stables to tame the Panthara pet.
well then my Tame must've been a fluke I had a yellow Panthera the Apex Panthera to be precise . as soon as I got over to argus I skipped all types of Quests to go straight for it.
If you have a Demon Hunter friend you can do this rather easily, given that you have the Talbuk meat required. Imprison works on these guys, so if your DH friend goes up to the one you want and imprisons it (without aggro'ing it), you can throw the meat and tame it. Just did this with a pal of mine and it worked like a charm.
tried four times still wont tame,grats to all that got one i give up
already wasted one meat on fail, so much I don't like about this patch, can't find quests, mobs that can't be targeted, let alone be tamed...
After 80 some kills I get one meat. After 200 and some I get another. I had removed the trinkets and did the freeze, both tames failed. I don't really want a panthera, after all. Challenges are good, but come on Blizz!
