Blizzard's
Welcome Back Weekend
starts today, reactivating all WoW accounts from March 21-24, without the need for a subscription. If you're one of the players returning, you may be wondering what class to play, which would be the easiest to pick up for a few days, or what has improved the most since launch, so we've assembled our simple class and leveling guides below. These guides are aimed at new and returning players, without all the detail of the full guide pages, to help you choose a class and jump back into
Battle for Azeroth.
Simple Class Guides
Our class guides go in-depth on a variety of subjects, including Talent Builds, Azerite, Gear, Simulations, to name just a few, but we also have Quick Tips guides that just give you the basics on one easily-readable page so that you can read less and play more! If you took a break after the start of BFA, or want the basic gist of how a spec operates, these guides are a great place to brush up on the basics.

Easy Classes to Pick Up at 120
With only a few days to play for free during the Welcome Back weekend, you probably don't want to spend that much time learning how to play a new spec. Here are some easy classes to pick up for the Welcome Back weekend:
Havoc Demon Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter
Frost Mage
Protection Paladin
Holy Priest
Outlaw Rogue
Affliction Warlock
Fury Warrior
Most Improved Classes Since BFA Launch
Some classes also had a rocky start at launch. We asked our writers which classes feel a lot better now in 8.1.5 as compared to launch, and they responded with
Protection Warrior
,
Marksmanship Hunter
,
Shadow Priest
,
Retribution Paladin
, and
Windwalker Monk
. These specs may not be the easiest, but if you were interested in them before, they might feel even more exciting now!
If you're just playing for a few days, you may not be particularly interested in the reasoning as to
why
they are improved, but the Overview pages for each spec cover class changes in more detail.
Leveling Guides
Battle for Azeroth
has distinct stories for each faction, so the Welcome Back weekend could be a good opportunity to level up a character on the opposite faction to experience a new side from a fresh angle. Our leveling guides include recommended specs, Legion legendaries, best talents including PvP talents for War Mode, and general gameplay advice for leveling up in the new world. We also have a
Battle for Azeroth Leveling Overview
that explains general leveling tips applicable to everyone. If you quit
Battle for Azeroth
early, you may not be aware of
Fiasca delle Dieci Terre
, or the
other leveling improvements
added in Patch 8.1.
