In the Patch 8.3 N'zoth Assaults, you'll be able to use your Flying mount to help get to locations more quickly. However, N'zoth has released some annoying creatures in the air above the assaults, that will annoy you and slow down the speed of your flying mount.
The Great Worm From Beyond
Good news! You can fly in the N'zoth Assaults!
Bad news... you'll probably become very annoyed with the
Grand ver de l'Au-delà
. These large worms have been released by N'zoth to annoy you during the Assaults.
You'll find these creatures flying in the air above both the Uldum and Vale Assaults. These worms fly closer to the ground in the Uldum Assault, compared to the Vale one.
They're quite large and easy to see, but don't get too close!
Great Worm's Foul Stench - Slow Mount Speed
Fly too close to the Great Worm and it'll attack you with a bolt of
Puanteur infecte du grand ver
, slowing your Flying Mount speed by 30%
and it stacks
. You won't aggro it when it fires bolts at you, and it'll keep flying around its path. They have a massive range (tooltip says 100 yds but it was recently nerfed to about 40ish) so you have to maintain quite a distance. This stacks to a maximum of 11 stacks. At this point, your mount is traveling at 50% movement speed and you should land and use a ground mount to travel faster than walking speed.
This debuff lasts for
3 minutes
, so it's really in your best interest to stay low to the ground and avoid them. Because of how low the Uldum Worms fly, it's very easy to find yourself with a stack or two when you're doing the Uldum invasions.
