The new Necrolord Legendary -
Éléments brisés - is thematic, though upon release numerically underwhelming
The legendary is a weaker cousin of the Anima Power
Bâtonnet élémentaire fendu, providing half the benefit. Its best case use scenario is one where we'll consistently have 3-4 targets with
Horion de flammes active when we proc it.
To get an idea of the expected power level of this legendary without sims to assist us, we look to the only legendary that provides a similar benefit,
Réminiscence ancestrale, and a bit of napkin math (elongated form of said napkin math can be provided upon request, though this comparison will be slightly tilted in favor of
Éléments brisés). In an ideal scenario (always 4 targets when you proc it),
Éléments brisés provides an average of a ~4.3% Haste Buff. Compared to
Réminiscence ancestrale, which will give slightly different benefits based on the length of the fight in question though I'll use 5 minutes for this comparison (average sim length) which gives us an average of a ~4% Haste Buff.
In a Mythic+ scenario, we expect
Réminiscence ancestrale to give us a ~3% overall dps boost as it stands, and so we can expect that
Éléments brisés will give us somewhere in the neighborhood of a ~3.5% boost that could be bumped up as far as 4.5% or so through use of the
Fracas des vagues conduit. As a result, considering that
Échos de la Grande Fracture is gives us close to a 20% boost in a similar scenario, there's little chance we'll use this legendary as it stands. Even if it were buffed significantly so that its ideal use case were to compete with
Échos de la Grande Fracture for AoE (which would require at minimum somewhere in the neighborhood of a 200% to 300% buff), then it still wouldn't be able to compete with it on Single-Target where
Éléments brisés loses ~75% of its strength.
It does not change our choice in covenant at this time, for any content.
Éléments brisés is the first revealed covenant specific legendary for Restoration Shaman, and its not off to the greatest start.
Getting a chunk of haste after using
Vague primordiale is alright, although not particularly intriguing. When it comes to healing it won't be the strongest option for Necrolord Shamans, especially because it has to compete with strong and consistent options such as
Noyau de marée primordiale, and it directly competes with
Focalisation naturelle de Jonat with them both working off of
Vague primordiale. In M+, a haste buff on demand might be more useful, but not sure yet if its strong enough there either.
The best case scenario (outside of the passive use) would be setting up
Éléments brisés into the
Averse torrentielle buff, where you'd have the strong
Pluie guérisseuse,
Totem de marée de soins and a lot of
Remouss out, which all scale with haste - which still does not seem too strong and a bit niche. And while haste is a great stat for damage output, I don't see this legendary being useful for damage output, especially when you can just pick up
Pierre de secousse tellurique instead.
All in all I don't think that this will replace any of the current legendaries and it is also not something you're going to swap covenants for.
