Zandalari Trolls
The following dialogue covers the creation of Talanji's new council, her insistence that she be viewed as an equal to Sylvanas, and her refusal of Bwonsamid's offer to kill Sylvanas in return for her freedom from Rastakhan's pact.
Sylvanas wonders if the Zandalari will join the Horde:
Our soldiers grow weary. The Horde's ranks are in need of new blood. What are our options?
Warchief, I think it be time to call upon da Zandalari.
Talanji soon gonna be crowned queen. She da one who be sayin' if dey join us.
We sorely need the Zandalari, and their fleet, if we intend to engage the Alliance again.
Before ascending to the throne, Talanji must complete a sacred ritual. It also appears some loa have been sowing unrest in the city:
"I would like for you to stand beside me as I address my council. It is imperative that I have their support for de trial to come.
Speak to me when you are ready for de formalities to unfold."
Good. Gather yourselves and assemble everyone atop Zanchul. I must now face de loa.
"<Princess Talanji kneels before the corpse of a priest. She clutches a bloodied charm to her chest.>
They dropped her body at my feet, $n.
She did nothing except worship Bwonsamdi.
I brought this fate upon her."
"<The priestess rests with a bloodied note pinned to her robes.>
BWONSAMDI'S PUPPET! THE FAITHFUL WILL NOT KNEEL."
Dese are our people, High Prelate. Spare dose who can be made to see reason.
I should speak with de priesthood. Dey are not de ones who brought dis turmoil upon us.
In due time, Princess. De sooner de loa grant you de throne, de better for Zandalar.
My new council awaits you above, $n. Rata and I will be along shortly.
"There is much to be done before Talanji can wear de crown. We must make haste, before de unrest boils over again.
Speak to me when you are prepared to carry out your role in this sacred ritual."
It has been centuries since our people have crowned a new ruler.
To claim her throne, Talanji must undergo our most sacred rite.
Her spirit will be weighed and measured in de eyes of de loa.
You will act as my witness.
If I am found wanting, my people will hear of de loa's decision from you.
Some citizens are upset that Talanji has elevated Bwonsamdi, the loa of death:
De Zandalari are not slaves to de loa of death!
I let my fears get de better of me... Talanji, please forgive me.
I would rather see dis city burn than pay homage to death.
Ma'daaaaaaaaaa!
I will not serve Bwonsamdi!
Talanji is marked with death! It is a curse!
I will serve no queen who bargains with de dead!
Our faith suffers in Bwonsamdi's shadow! I will be silent no longer!
I only kneel to my loa!
No more dead loa!
My loa will not be de next to fall!
No... this is not de way to fix this... Forgive me.
I do not know what came over me.
I need to trust in Talanji. She did not choose this fate.
I see now... Fighting you solves nothing. De Widow was wrong.
Why are we fighting? You are not my enemy!
I was rushing to de Other Side, only I did not know it.
What was I thinking? You could have killed me!
<He is very intently focused on his prayers.>
De White Widow showed me de truth. Talanji would have us all dancing in Bwonsamdi's court. We must stop her before it is too late!
What else can I do? Talanji will doom us all. De White Widow knows it to be so.
"Next you know, de throne will be moved to de Necropolis. Bah!
I will not allow it."
How can she elevate death above all loa? It makes no sense!
As Talanji starts the ritual, it appears Samara is causing the discontent:
I am de voice dat whispers while others roar. I am de spider in whose web you now writhe.
You... you are to blame for de unrest dat plagues de city!
Even now, you cannot see where de blame truly lies. For dat, you must die.
It need not end dis way, Samara. Do not make me send you to Bwonsamdi.
Yes, call your master. If I must die to expose de truth, den so be it!
Talanji then begins the ritual in earnest, completing the challenges of the loa:
Kragwa's Challenge:
Tell me, Talanji... what would you give to protect those who are yours to defend?
All dat I have. My own life, if necessary.
Is that so? Prove it.
Hah! Now they are weak. Defend them!
Do not worry, $n. I will let no harm come to you!
Hah! Your actions speak truth. You have my blessing.
Thank you, huge one.
Paku's Challenge:
This storm stands between you and your crown. Ascend, Talanji!
I can barely see... are you still with me, $n?
Having trouble?
Gah!
The tree that stands rigid in the wind will snap its branches. Bend, my child.
I cannot fight de winds of change... but I will endure dem.
I like your spirit, little one.
This was an amusing lesson. Now, take my blessing. Winds be at your back!
I am listening, great one.
Gonk's Challenge:
My kind draw strength from the pack.
To defend our home, we loa banded together and stood as one.
And so I ask you: Who is your pack?
The Zandalari, surely... but what of your allies? The tortollans, the vulpera?
And what of the Horde?
Think on this, and go with my blessing.
I have, and I will. Thank you.
Bwonsamdi's challenge:
Talanji: Test me and be done with dis.
Bwonsamdi: Well, since ya be so eager to get rid of me... I got a new deal for ya.
Bwonsamdi: Bring me de head of de Horde's warchief, and I be forgettin' all about ya father's bargain.
Talanji: Oh... by de loa...
Talanji:No. De Horde stood beside us when all seemed lost. I will not repay dem with betrayal.
Bwonsamdi: Dat ya final answer?
Talanji: It is. My freedom is not worth my honor.
Bwonsamdi: Ah, dat is a real shame. Been wantin' a warchief's spirit for a long time. But go on. Claim ya crown.
Bwonsamdi also has a message for the player:
"Well if it isn't the wingless wonder, $n!
I see Talanji made the predictable choice of her witnesses. I will act surprised for her sake."
"I wish to test Talanji's determination. I already know you possess a great deal of it, but it will amuse me if you participate.
Are you prepared to begin?"
"How goes de soul collection, hm?
I hope you are keeping count, loa know ol' Bwonsamdi isn't.
<Bwonsamdi laughs.>
In all seriousness, I hope you have not forgotten our bargain."
"<Bwonsamdi rubs his hands together.>
I will enjoy this, yes. Talanji's witness, will you deliver my verdict to de people of Zandalar?"
Talanji introduces her new council:
"It is good to see you agan, $n.
<Hexlord Raal gestures to the other councilors gathered nearby.>
These are strange times for de Zandalari. Ordinarily I would be opposed to an exile AND a Tortollan among our ranks, but after all that has happened, perhaps change is what we need most."
"I am High Prelate Rata, formerly de Will of Rezan.
As my loa is no more, I answer to Talanji now. I hope to serve her well as a voice of faith on de Zanchuli Council."
King Rastakhan surrounded himself with traitors and snakes. Talanji has chosen her advisers wisely.
"Now I know what you're thinking. How does someone like me get to a place like this?
If I'm being perfectly honest with you, I have no idea. I think maybe Torga had something to do with it.
At least it will make a great story! The first Tortollan on the Zanchuli Council, of all things! Hah!"
"This one is Jo'nok, de Bulwark of Torcali.
Jo'nok is chosen to replace Vol'kaal. Slime who served de mistress of lies.
We are made for war, not pretty words. Jo'nok's voice on de Council be that of strength.
<Jo'nok cracks his knuckles loudly.>"
"After that business with G'huun and de siege of de city, Talanji needed someone who could maintain order.
Jakra'zet was many things, a firm hand among them. I hope I can fill his role without de more unsavory parts of his character.
Talanji brought me back from exile and gave me his job. I became General Rakera, much to Kaja's delight. Now in addition to leading Zandalar's armies, I am to give voice as one of de Zanchuli Council.
It is an honor, and a chance to right de wrongs of de past."
Bwonsamdi places himself higher up than the rest:
Talanji: You dare stand in de place meant for Rezan? Does your arrogance have no limit, Bwonsamdi?
Bwonsamdi: Mind ya manners, child. Ol' Bwonsamdi be raised above all other loa. Just like ya father said.
With the blessing of the loa, Talanji is ready to become Queen:
"De loa have given me their blessing. My advisors welcomed me. De leaders of our faith have all knelt before me. My people have many voices, but on de whole they have accepted my rule.
Once I step foot on that dais, I become Queen Talanji. It is what my father prepared me for. It is what I have spent my whole life growing toward.
I am ready. Are you?"
De Zandalari have ruled dis land for thousands of years.
But over time, our empire grew stagnant. We stood alone.
Now, I am queen.
De Zandalari Empire has a long history of heroes, but few of dem can match all dat you have achieved.
Return to Zuldazar, my champion, so dat your deeds may be celebrated and rewarded.
Talanji announces her partnership with the Horde to Sylvanas:
Sylvanas: She thinks to summon me? Hmph. I suppose she is allowed some posturing today.
Talanji: De Horde has been a trustworthy ally to Zandalar.
Talanji: Without our partnership, we may not have overcome de threats dat rose against us.
Talanji: I understand dat you have need of our forces. De Alliance will stop at nothing to destroy you.
Talanji: So let it be official. De Zandalari and de Horde will stand together... as equals.
Sylvanas: Equals?
I am de queen of Zandalar. And a queen kneels to no one. Surely, you understand.
Sylvanas: I see... Very well, Queen Talanji. The Horde welcomes you.
Talanji addresses her people:
With de loa's blessing, our sacred blades and mighty ships commanded de seas.
Threats from without and within rose up to challenge us... to test our faith.
And together with de Horde, we take our rightful place among de great kingdoms of Azeroth. Zandalar forever!
I stand before you, having proven myself to de loa.
But it is your trust dat I must earn.
People of Zandalar.
Many questioned my judgment when I reached out to de Horde.
But without their aid, we would have collapsed under de weight of our pride. These mighty allies have given Zandalar new strength.
A glorious future awaits our empire, and we must embrace it together. Will you stand with me?
Zandalar forever!
When de Alliance invaded our home, heroes of de Horde drew their weapons and fought by our side.
A bond forged in battle is as strong as a pact with de loa. Join our new brothers and sisters, and bring honor to both Zandalar and de Horde.
As we rejoin de world beyond our shores, you continue to represent de greatness of Zandalar.
I am honored to bestow upon you de golden armor of our most sacred champions. Go forth with de blessing of de loa, and de pride of our people.
Kul Tiras
Jaina builds a ship, led by her brother Tandred Proudmoore, as a show of loyalty to the Alliance.
Jaina seeks only the finest builder for her ship:
Jaina: I believe Atwater's ships were the gold standard while you were serving in my father's guard.
Cyrus: That was a long time ago, Lord Admiral. But the name does ring a bell...
Sal: Me? Tides, no. That's my wife. She's inside.
Dorian: My ears still work perfectly fine, you know.
Looking for a shipwright, are you? Too bad. I'm retired.
Jaina: I have prepared a letter in case some persuasion is required. I suggest you take it with you.
Dorian: Sal! Where'd I leave my tools?
Sal: Out back, dearest!
Dorian Atwater mutters something about back pain under her breath.
Dorian: You know the drill, Sal. Get the cart and meet me at the lumber mill.
Sal: Be gentle with $n, sweet pea.
Dorian: All right, boys. Go on and set us up.
You're making this harder than it needs to be, Maynard.
Lads, there's a pile of gold and a pint of ale in it for everyone who lends me a hand.
And you made it sound like they didn't want to be useful.
At some point, the wood needed for the ship must be purified by Ulfar:
The power you bring here is weighted heavily against life.
We must tip the scales.
This land is generous, and strong, and its heart thrums beneath us!
The balance... does not move... easily...
But where there is death, there is also life!
An inescapable cycle, as sure as the sea is vast!
Ahh... The cycle... continues.
No creature can thwart it for long. Back, foul magic!
I have culled the corruption within the vessel, $n.
The Thornspeakers will journey to Stormsong and begin the work of cleansing your lumber.
Tandred then needs a crew, reaching out to Brother Pike, Rosaline, and Dorian Atwater.
<He stares out over the city and fails to notice your approach.>
Jaina sent me to speak with you.
Aye, I was just thinking on her request.
I've a few in mind, but some of them might take more convincing than others.
Brother Pike is currently here in Boralus. He's my first choice for a tidesage. No ship sails without one.
For my master gunner, I'll have none other than Lieutenant Tarenfold. He should still be stationed at Vigil Hill.
Meet me at Outrigger Post, where we can find the rest of our crew.
It has been too long since I have stood upon the seas.
The legacy of the tidesages has been tainted, but perhaps I can help rebuild it.
Besides, how could I refuse the Lord Admiral's brother?
Tandred Proudmoore is putting together a crew. He needs a master gunner. Are you interested?
And leave this gate undefended?
You've been taking pot shots at parrots for a while now, sir.
We're more than capable of holding the hill.
Hmph. Point taken.
Alright, lads and lasses. Looks like I'm off to sea.
Are ya KIDDING me?!
You want me to be your WHAT?
I know how it sounds, but I need a first mate I can count on! And that means you!
You expect me to be flattered? I'm a captain. The Outriggers are my crew.
They'll still be your crew! I want all of you on my ship when we set sail under the Alliance's flag.
The Alliance? Does that mean we'll be giving the Horde some payback?
Well... I would assume so, yes.
Lead with that next time, Captain.
$n, there's someone else I want to recruit. Meet me at Port Fogtide once you've spoken to everyone.
"I had my time in the public eye. I'm quite content to finish out my days in obscurity.
Besides, Sal struggles with crowds."
Name a better boatswain and I'll take them instead. You wanted the best. You are the best.
I'm retired.
How can you build something this magnificent and not want to sail it into the sunset? She's beautiful!
You're not going to let this go, are you?
Not a chance.
Fine. But you'll be getting an earful if you damage my ship.
You have a choice of naming the ship:
What shall we call this new vessel, $n?
Anduin's Wrath - suggested by Rosaline
Dawnsailor - suggested by Brother Pike
Tiffin's Melody - suggested by Katherine
The Lionheart - suggested by Tandred
"This action is permanent and cannot be changed later.
Continue?"
Brother Pike blesses the boat:
Storm above and tides below, hear us now!
Breathe strength into our sails, and guard us against the crushing depths!
Let this vessel be one with the vast ocean, and us with her.
Sea to sea, storm to storm, tide to tide.
Jaina reveals her gift to Anduin:
When you asked to meet me at the harbor, I had no idea what you had in mind. This is incredible!
Kul Tiras and the Alliance once shared a bond of friendship. Now both of our peoples will see that bond reforged.
I can think of no grander gesture, Lord Admiral.
She is yours to command, as is her crew. They will serve you on behalf of Kul Tiras.
Katherine Proudmoore:
Every Kul Tiran shares a bond with the sea. From the tides, we draw our strength. Our courage.
For a time, we let fear and distrust divide us. Lost in a storm of doubt, we forgot what it meant to stand as one people. As one family.
Today, Kul Tiras proudly flies the Alliance's flag once more. Whatever awaits us on the horizon, we will face it... together.
It seems you have made quite a name for yourself, $n. Not a day goes by without your exploits being toasted in the taverns of Boralus.
Now that you have seen the world beyond Kul Tiras, it is time to return to the shores of home. It would be my honor to personally commend you for your service.
We Kul Tirans have always been an adventurous people. I have no doubt that your deeds will bring glory to the Alliance and pride to Kul Tiras.
Please give my regards to the king. And wherever the winds take you, look always to the sea.
Champion, it is with great respect and admiration that I present you with the regalia of the Admiralty's most decorated officers.
Wear it with pride, as an honored hero of both the Alliance and Kul Tiras.
