micro-holiday is now live on EU and US realms! On this day we take time to celebrate the hard work that city guards perform. Salute them and show them you care!
/salute a Guard
When this micro-holiday is in effect, there is no quest leading to it. Simply go to a major city in Azeroth, and /salute a guard. Doing this will transform you to match the appearance of the guard you saluted. It works on most guards in the cities like Undercity Abominations, but there are a few exceptions for example the Arcane Guardians and large shield-wielding Silvermoon City Guardians.

Defending Your City
Once transformed, you will receive a 24 hour buff named

. This will also cause you to occasionally get attacked by

s of all specs. Slaying 10 enemies, your buff will now say Defender of "City". As you kill more enemies, your buff will change to Heroic Defender, and then Mythic Defender. The transformation will persist through death and you can travel wherever you'd like with it. If you want a different guard's appearance you would just need to salute a new guard.
