New quest chapters have been added to the Battle for Azeroth alpha. These
Ready for War
quests take you into enemy territory to give you a taste of the other faction's storyline.
Story spoilers in post.
In Battle for Azeroth build 26231, some Alliance quests were open, primarily in Nazmir, for the
La guerra en las venas
achievement. We learned at the recent Battle for Azeroth Q&A that this campaign was tied to the BFA champions and currency
Recursos de guerra
.
Nazmir
In this questline, we attempt an alliance with the Blood Trolls, who worship the dangerous god G'huun. We accompany Brann and his pet monkey to an Alliance base in Nazmir. Here we'll also find "Silvermoon" Harry who has an unhealthy obsession with blood elves. In fact, he reveals he was tricked into the mission as he thought he'd be helping blood elves, not blood trolls.
We learn quickly enough that this plan has gone south, as Brann finds Alliance soldiers sacrificed to G'huun. We then try to rescue Captain Conrad, who seems pretty happy among the Blood Trolls at first...and then tries to sacrifice
us
.
This place gives me the willies...
I like it! Anywhere yer hackles raise, there's an opportunity for adventure an' the prospect o' knowledge.
We sent Captain Conrad ahead to build a fort. They say the blood trolls here might even be willin' ta trade, but I cannae imagine that'd come at a price worth payin'.
Still, this here's a land that works 'gainst the Zandalari and their Horde associates. The enemy of yer enemy is yer... wait, what's that sayin'?
No matter. Look. Listen. Keep those sharp eyes peeled. Unforgivin' lands aren't known ta forgive the unwary, $n.
And... eugh... keep yer nostrils pinched. What's that foul-as-death rottin' stench?
Looks like our welcome party is here. Harry's an interestin' one. Don't pay him no mind.
Welcome! Welcome!
We've been expecting you, our esteemed advisors and future fast friends.
Captain Conrad left me with instructions.
Ofrenda dudosa
:
Cannae be sure o' the wisdom o' this Captain Conrad. Sendin' our own on these blood troll bats with offerin's? Somethin' about this stinks more'n an armpit after a bar fight.
Where's the Captain?
Ah! Ah ha! Right to the point, yes, yes. Not to worry! All is in order. Let's retire to safer environs behind our fort's walls, yes?
Alright, no sign o' the Captain then. What's goin' on?
Nothing untoward, I assure you! Our glorious Captain is off negotiating trade agreements with the local trolls.
Heard they were savages wot practice bloody sacrifices.
Oh heavens! Well, indeed, yes. I suppose that is accurate, mmm. But Captain Conrad is a glory to behold. Impressive, no doubt.
Sangre de Hir'eek
and
En honor a los caídos
:
Spooky chantin' in the next room can only mean one thing: someone's askin' for the ol' what-fer! I'd give ya a hand but I gotta drink a couple-a potions before I'm back on me feet. Take out that blood witch and I bet the magic'll dissipate.
This is a shameful situation. Unforgivable! The soldiers weren't carryin' offerrin's to the blood trolls, they WERE the offerin'! It'd be right difficult to bury 'em proper in this hole. Best we can do is get their dog tags. Poor lads an' lassies.
Fanáticas de Zalamar
:
We're surrounded by the enemy, <name>, and it's got me blood ragin'! I'm fit as a fi... instrument... and ready to help get us outta this forsaken cavern. Let's show 'em the end o' their miserable lives, eh?
Vuelo desde La caída
:
Let's get outta this hole! Hairs on the back o' me neck won't settle down. Was hopin' I'd find some artifacts, or treasures, or haggis, or at least a few worthwhile trinkets down here. Those bats look like the ones that we came on... hopefully they'll take us back to Fort Victory and not some rotten grotto with no valuables inside.
Trade agreements with trolls! We even have bats prepared to send another trade offering to Zala'mar.
Blast that! They won't get another red copper from us before me an' $n go see what's what.
What's this all about, Harry?! Those offerin's you were sendin'... The soldiers were sacrificed! Blood drained from their bodies like a mug o' ale at Brewfest.
<Harry's blood drains from his face.>
My... oh my goodness. Surely the esteemed Captain Conrad had no knowledge of these macabre circumstances.
Knowledge or no, it's time to get to the bottom o' this. Where'd this Captain head off to?
Zul'Nazman, I believe. Or Tul'vor? In fact I believe they are one in the same. Or nearly so.
Zul'Nazman
:
Not sure if I like this Harry fella. He's growin' on me, though. Got some wild ideas about the blood elves, but he's not all bad. What were we talkin' about? Ah, right. Captain Conrad. He said the Captain went to Zul'Nazman ta commune with the blood trolls there. Seems... less than well planned. Let's go see what there is to see, shall we?
Cultores Nazmani
:
The rumors o' the blood trolls from back in Boralus don't line up with the letters from Captain Conrad. Open to trade? Willin' to work with us against the Horde? Ready to teach us their magic? Hogwash. Only time worth spendin' with these evil trolls is time killin' 'em.
Ofrendas a G'huun
and
Capitana Conrad
:
Been watchin' these cultists with both good eyes. Those big glowin' jars o' theirs look important. Opened one up and it sent a shiver down me spine, but nothin' seemed worth the takin'. If it ain't worth stealin', I guess it's worth smashin'.
Looks like there's couple o' guards posted by this hut. If I had ta guess, Captain Conrad'll be in there. Somethin' still feels off about this place, though. Why don't ya go on ahead and I'll hang here in case things go south fast? I got yer back, <name>.
Lecciones de los Malditos
:
When I arrived here in disguise, the blood trolls thought me some sort of messenger of their Blood God. I seized the advantage and played into their primitive beliefs. I came here intending to open trade and learn how we can work with them against the Horde. What I discovered was altogether more compelling. I will show you.
I have established more trust with the blood trolls--these Nazmani--than I anticipated.
They can be powerful tools against the Zandalari trolls and their Horde allies.
There is much to understand about them yet. This blood magic...it is more potent than you could possibly imagine.
The methods of the Nazmani were...offputting at first. But I know them now. They are a simple people with simple desires.
The desire for power. The yearning for the greater truth. The will of blood.
Here, let me show you what I have learned.
We will continue our ... what are you looking at me like that for? DO YOU NOT APPROVE?
This is nothing personal, you understand. But, you cannot be allowed to interrupt the progress I have made. The things I have learned...what I have yet to discover.
You then escape and return to the fort:
Captain Conrad... is well, I trust?
WELL?! That lassie was madder than a murloc on moon mead. Tried to sacrifice our lovely $c here to some blood god called G'huun.
Oh dear. That is much worse than I feared. My deepest apologies for putting you in such a risky situation, sir Bronzebeard.
Eh, not the worst I've seen. Still a sad story, though. We'll need to dispatch a messenger to let the High Commander know what transpired.
Zuldazar
In this questline, the Dark Iron Dwarves land on the shores of Zuldazar, fight over a powerful archaeological relic, and go on a satisfying quest to obliterate hundreds of goblins with a fiery construct, reminiscent of
Gnomeliminación
. This questline seems a bit incomplete.
The questline also parallels the Nightborne camp in Zuldazar - both sides are racing to unearth some relics and clash with each other.
Fragmento de las Tierras de Fuego
:
The rumors o' yer capabilities seemed overblown, but it appears yer indeed a competent one, aren't ye? I underestimated ye, <name>. For that, I apologize. Don't tell Thaelin. The components for the ritual are now prepared. All ye need to do is add the Firelands Slag to the Unstable Magma an' a great bein' from the Firelands will heed our call. You'll gain control o' it and can eliminate the nearby goblin threat with nigh invincibility.
Los huesos de Xibala
:
Our allies in the Explorer's League have alerted us to an exciting find. They have set up camp in the Xibala region of Zuldazar. Make your way to the camp and help them uncover anything that may advance our cause.
La inspección de Morgrum
:
Oi. Since yer hands are already dirty, what do ye say we make a deal? To give it to ye straight, there's a relic here called the Breath of Xibala. I don't know who Xibala is or why the Alliance wants its breath, but there's a hefty sum of gold in it fer me if we deliver. That means there's somethin' in it for you, too, if ye get my meanin'. I started a survey with me equipment but haven't got me results yet. Go on out into the ruins an' give the boxes you see a little kick to hurry things along.
Ecología de Xibala
:
I want to take m'boys out and really dig our picks in, but every scout I've sent into the ruins just came back half mauled to death. Some didn't come back at all. From what I can tell, the ruins are home to more'n just these spiky grass-eaters. Do you think you could be a peach an' thin their numbers a bit? I'd caution ye against tamperin' with the local ecology an' all, but in the interest of not gettin' eaten I think I'll let ye make the call.
Eficiencia arqueológica
:
Suppose I owe the lass her bones if I'm t'be monopolizin' yer time. And I will be. Go on out into the ruins an' use this here stone to call one of my rumbly elemental friends. They'll blast away any dirt 'tween you an' the fossils. We could go about this the ol' fashion way, but do you really want to spend all day digging? Course ye don't. Acadia will see that a little efficiency gets everyone what they want.
No son nuestros elfos púrpura
:
Ye know, <name>. I don't think these elves are with the Alliance. Leastwise, they're a lot more aggressive than this ol' Dark Iron is comfortable with. On the offchance it'll piss off the Horde, ye mind killin' a few of them?
Hurto mayor de telemancia
:
I'm not opposed to honest competition, <name>. But teleportin' it right out from under our noses leaves me feelin' dirty. Go teach that thievin' elf what it means t'steal from the Alliance. If they're fightin' dirty, then so will we.
