The Orc Heritage Armor questline revolves around recreating the ancient Draenor tradition of Kosh'harg for Azeroth. During this festival, all the orcish clans put aside any rivalries to meet in peace for a grand celebration and feast. This questline features notable orcs from all over
World of Warcraft
's history, many of which have something unique to say!
During the feast, Orcs are grouped up at different tables - often based on clan. One surprising addition to the Shattered Hand table is Garona Halforcen - who we get to see be officially invited to the clan!
Before the Feast
The Shattered Hand Clan is known for its spies, assassins, and secret agents, playing a similar role in the Horde to the SI:7 of the Alliance. The leader of this clan is Thega Graveblade.
Thega Graveblade
Do not worry, the Shattered Hand will make sure our festivities aren't interrupted by any of the Alliance spies lurking just outside.
Oh yes, they're out there. Even if we are at peace, we still keep eyes on each other. It keeps us both honest.
Before the festivities begin, it's possible to speak with Rokaro, who was originally added to the game in
Burning Crusade
. Rokaro was introduced as Rexxar's friend to replace his role in the Onyxia's Lair attunement after Rexxar was moved to Outland - and he seems keen to speak with his old friend. Rokaro can be found standing with Kagtha, and is revealed to also be part of the Shattered Hand clan.
Well met, <name>. I am pleased to see so many orcs together, including the Mok'nathal.
It has been some time since I have seen my friend, Rexxar. I look forward to catching up.
Another surprising addition to this table is Garona Halforcen. The half-orc, half-draenei has a complicated history with the Horde. Due to her lineage, she was an outcast in Draenor Orc culture. During the first invasion of Azeroth, she was sent as an emissary to the Alliance, and she grew close to several important members of the Alliance, including Khadgar. However, the warlock Gul'dan had placed chains in her mind and used her to assassinate King Lane Wrynn.
More recently, Garona has occasionally worked with the Horde, and she is a leader of the Uncrowned, but she remained mostly distant from her fellow Orcs. Before the feast, she can be seen with the Shattered Hand's former leader, Gordul, who is also a member of the Uncrowned.
Garona Halforcen
Greetings, <name>. I decided the first kosh'harg of Azeroth was an event worthy of coming out of seclusion for.
I am intrigued that so many orcs answered the call, and that none of them are fighting each other.
Not yet, anyway.
Joining the Shattered Hand
The Shattered Hand is one of the Orc Clans that the player can choose to join as part of the Heritage Armor Questline. When inviting players to join this clan, Thega briefly describes the clan's history and current role. She also explains why she, rather than Gordak, leads the clan now.
Thega Graveblade
You come to learn the ways of the Shattered Hand? I can tell you, but then I'll have to kill you.
Just kidding.
Long ago, our clan dwelled in the Spires of Arak on Draenor. Our founders were comprised of a group of gladiator slaves who escaped from the Highmaul ogres. The clan name comes from a tradition of cutting off one of your hands, and replacing it with a weapon.
...that is no longer a requirement.
These days, we serve as Orgrimmar's spies and assassins. We value ruthlessness, cunning, and the nerve to do what must be done to ensure peace for the rest of our people.
We have watched your many deeds from the shadows, <name>, and would welcome you into our fold with pleasure.
What happened to Gordul? I thought he led the Shattered Hand.
He has been usurped. It is our way that the strongest must lead.
Don't worry, I didn't kill him. He is here at the Kosh'harg if you wish to visit.
The Shattered Hand's Table
During the feast, Shattered Hand members Kagtha, Rokaro, Gordul, Kaplak, Ormok, and Gest can all be seen around the same table. Garona and Thega Graveblade stand a little to the side, and a conversation in which Thega officially invites Garona to join her clan can be overheard.
Thega Graveblade says: You should join us, Garona. Officially.
Thega Graveblade says: You can even challenge me for my position if you wish, we just need more orcs of your skill!
Garona Halforcen says: I have become used to doing things alone, and used to not really being welcome among the orcs.
Thega Graveblade says: Times change, as they say.
Garona Halforcen says: Apparently. I will... consider it.
As an assassin and member of the Uncrowned, Garona would fit well into this clan, especially in a new future of peace between the Alliance and Horde.
Rokaro also has new dialogue at this stage, confirming his own membership in the Shattered Hand. As he says, it's unusual to see them all together like this!
It rare to see so many of the Shattered Hand together in one place. We are so often in the field.
I hope this Kosh'harg gathering occurs more than once a generation!
