What building is the best to build early on?
While you should build what interests you the most, most players find themselves resource-starved early on, especially when upgrading the Garrison to level 3 since that takes 2000 resources.
Two buildings can assist with the production of Garrison Resources: the
Lumber Mill
and
Trading Post
.
The Lumber Mill lets you convert 10 Timber into 20 Garrison Resources. You can increase that to 30 Garrison resources per 10 Timber at Level 3 with the
长青的菲拉克
follower, but if you’re starved on resources early on, you are probably not at this point yet.
The Trading Post lets you convert 5 of a crafting reagent (it varies per day) into 30 Garrison Resources. This is more of a gamble as the Work Order could require you to turn in items you need for crafting or are expensive on the AH, or it could require you to trade in materials which are basically free from your garrison's Mine or Herb Gardwn, or via questing.
If you are poorly geared at first, the
Gladiator’s Sanctum
can give you ilvl 600 and ilvl 620 items via Work Orders. The
Dwarven Bunker / War Mill
is also good while leveling as it increases the chance your quest rewards are upgraded.
In addition, it is good to get your
Herb Garden
(requires 96) and
Mine
(requires 92) set up as you are leveling--Level 1 is free, no Garrison Resources--because you can start generating herbs and ore daily.
Why do I want a profession building if I have a profession?
Having a profession building augments a profession. With Work Orders, you can generate more reagents for your profession instead of being locked into your daily cooldown that only generates 4-10 of a reagent.
However, you can decide not to build a profession building and still have access to all Draenor recipes--just buy the recipes from vendors in Ashran instead of your garrison.

How do I assign and remove followers from a building?
Followers with specific traits can be assigned to their corresponding buildings.
to see a list of traits that are related to buildings.
To assign a follower to a building, go to your Architect’s Table in your Town Hall and click on that building plot. A circle with a + will appear at the top of the table--click on that to bring up a list of followers that can be assigned to that building. Simply click on the follower you like and it will be automatically assigned to the building.
To remove the follower, open up the Architect's Table, click on the building plot, and look at your follower's portrait. There will be a small red crossed out circle at the top right of their portrait--click on it to remove them from working at the building.
Are there non-profession small buildings?
Yes, there are a few:
Salvage Yard
and
Storehouse
.
The Salvage Yard generates crates when you complete missions and these crates can contain BoEs (including old transmog items and new ilvl 665 epics), class-specific transmog gear, and items that boost your follower’s item level.
The Storehouse lets you queue more Work Orders at once (great when you are going on vacation) and provides easy access to banks and Void Storage.
What perks from buildings are not included in tooltips?
The level perks on tooltips are fairly detailed and our guides for all buildings break down what they do in detail, but here’s a brief rundown of what isn’t clear on tooltips:
“Unique bonuses” for Small Buildings. We’ve explained all of the perks on our
Garrison Calculator
and building guides--they range from extra daily quests to the option to change the glow on your weapon. Assigning a follower also increases the chance that your Work Order yield is doubled.
Dwarven Bunker
: At level 1, you unlock Stormwind and Orgrimmar guard transmog, and at level 2, you unlock Orc Clan transmog. The Work Orders can also award
钢铁部落碎片
.
Fishing Shack
: The Level 3 Fishing Shack allows you to recruit
纳特·帕格
as a follower. Through catching his special fish, you can puchase cool items from him like
猩红水黾缰绳
.
Gladiator’s Sanctum
: The Nemesis quests and Highmaul Colisseum event award numerous titles--this building lets you collect the most titles. In addition, there are several banner toys associated with the Highmaul Colisseum event. Finally, the “Conqueror’s Tribute” is a very lucrative Work order that can contain ilvl 600 and ilvl 626 PvP gear--great for gearing up.
Herb Garden
: Vendors starting at level 1 are available who sell transmoggable farm weapons as well as
疯狂的萝卜
in exchange for
德拉诺种子
.
Lumber Mill
: The Lumber Mill lets you recruit two followers:
维尔顿·巴罗夫 / 阿莱克斯·巴罗夫
and
长青的菲拉克
. Completing related quests also awards
巴罗夫伐木工召唤器
and
屠树者的伪装
.
Mine
: Mining carts contain items not normally associated with mining, such as Archaeology Fragments. In addition, you can fish in your Level 2 or 3 Mine for
盲眼白鱼
.
Inn
: At level 2, you can acquire the quest
为了孩子!
, which lets you recruit
米尔豪斯·法力风暴
and obtain the toy
法力风暴的复印机
. At all levels, you can purchase the transmoggable weapon
切肉斧
if you have 700 Cooking. It should also be noted that some of the Inn rewards are very powerful, like
奥拉留斯的低语水晶
and
艾维娜之羽
.
Menagerie
: The “unique rewards” at level 3 refer to distinctive battle pets that can be found inside the rewards satchel.
Salvage Yard
: The Level 3 “Player items” do not refer to special BoEs--they refer to ilvl 610 class-specific weapons and armor that resemble the gear boosted characters receive.
一大箱回收物资
is a box that is guaranteed from level 100 missions and has a chance to appear when completing 95-99 ones.
Stables
: At Level 2, you can acquire the
塞泰的黑暗之爪
which lets you complete
进阶畜牧业
for
装甲霜鬃野猪
mount. At level 3, you can acquire the
铁颚狼齿项链
which lets you complete
兽栏管理员
for
装甲霜狼
mount. In addition, you can obtain whistles that summon all training mounts so you can easily defeat all the enemies needed for achievements.
Why am I not traveling as fast as I thought with a Level 3 Stables?
The Level 3 Stables perk,
斥候大师
, does not stack with the guild perk
骑乘加速
or passive class abilities such as
死神降临
.
Do outposts affect my buildings, like the Lumber Mill in Gorgrond and the Lumber Mill building?
Each Garrison outpost offers you a choice to make as you are questing in a zone. This affects what your outpost in a specific zone looks like, the combat benefit you get, and the followers you get as rewards from each outpost questline.
While several Garrison buildings have quite similar names to Outpost options, they are not related. The Gorgrond Sparring Arena offers no benefits to your Gladiator's Sanctum, for example.
