Pandaren Racial Starting Zone
Though Pandaren live in harmony with their native land, wanderlust has gripped a small portion of their hearts for as long as they can remember. To satisfy that wanderlust, the ancient scholar Liu Lang set out long ago – on the back of a turtle – to explore the world he knew waited beyond Pandaria’s shores. Liu Lang made several return trips to his homeland, each time bringing with him stories of the wondrous things he’d seen; each time, Shen-zin Su, the turtle that carried Liu Lang through the waters, seemed to become larger and larger.
Liu Lang has passed on, but his followers still depart Pandaria’s shores to see the world. The turtle has grown massive, the size of a small city. It’s here, on the "Wandering Isle" that young, eager Pandaren train and learn, engaging in mock combat against one another and mastering the tools and forms of martial arts.
Life on the Wandering Isle is pacific and enlightening until the day the Wandering Isle travels through the seas near Azeroth’s Maelstrom. The ground becomes unstable, crops wilt, and Shen-zin Su seems to wobble in the ocean, drifting in an unsteady pattern that may be a death spiral.
As one of the most promising Pandaren wanderers, you’ll uncover the true threat to the Wandering Isle. But the problem facing the great turtle has several potential solutions, and the students of the isle are split on how to handle it. Do they act immediately (but rashly) to save their home before all is lost? Do they deliberate, attempting to find a safer (but slower) way to heal the land and deal with the dangers in their midst?
Your decision will shape the future, and set the path of the Pandaren in a changed world.

Is there a stable master in this zone? I'm a lvl 10 Hunter and want to capture a pet.. the Orange Tiger thats in that zone.. Everytime i try ti capture one it says I have to many pets.. Just have my starter pet atm.. So is there a stable master there and can we come back to this zone after we leave the zone...

I found a forge & anvil on my second time thru this zone. They are at

If you don't have coords, they are at the Dai-Lo Farmstead. Go to where
Ji Firepaw
is trying to wake up the little elemental fellow. Go west about 15 steps and you'll see them under a tree. (which is strange, because the blacksmith is in the pagoda across from the gong)

You'd think an Island of fat bears would have fishing & cooking trainers!

A nice little thing I found. There is a way to enter the Pei-Wu Forest without completing all the quests leading to that point.
Follow the river that passes the Ki-Han Brewery south. just as the water is falling off the edge of the map, there is a flat area to your right. This leads to Pei-Wu Forest.

Upon first seeing this zone was on the back of a giant turtle, my thoughts turned to the Dark Tower series:
"See the TURTLE of enormous girth!
On his shell he holds the earth.
His thought is slow but always kind;
He holds us all within his mind.
On his back all vows are made;
He sees the truth but mayn't aid.
He loves the land and loves the sea,
And even loves a child like me."

Does anyone know how to navigate the in game map to this after leaving the zone? I try to reference places from it when I Role Play later, but I'm forgetful and want to look it up so I can have a reference to look at.

You can't leave the island early; not even through death. If you try to touch the water, the turtle's shell ridge is too tall to let you back up (where's a conc when you need one!), so you'll 'faint' from fatigue and end up collapsed in front of

Is there a shorter quest chain to get out of the starting zone? I've done them all once, and that was quite more than enough.
Edit: So.. I've progressed to the quest "Preying on the predators" to kill the tigers.. but...
.... I just can't seem to get them to drop "candles"!
By and large, this zone is full of pointless quests having nothing to do with lore or skill building. Seriously, how many times have you had to jump from post to post over water?
Blizz, If you have me doing a kill the mobs for the sake of wasting game time quest, I WANT MY DAMNED CANDLES!
Edit... I just rolled a new panda (for the guild achievement), and did a search on wowhead. It seems, that unlike every other starting zone, there are NO "green" or "blue" quality items from the zone quests.
I'm tempted to find the prof trainer, take skinning and leather working and MAKE a green, just to spite blizzard. LOL.
*** edit.. apparently there are SOME greens that drop, but very few. The only ones I have seen are chest or pants nearly at the end of the zone (just after you go through the gate to kill tigers and gather bamboo**
I'll probably do LW and skinning just to kill time while i level. Im on my 3rd panda in 3 weeks.. OMG! (guild achieve again.. lol)

If you go on the roof of the Inn, just South of Temple of the Five Dawns (48,57) you can jump across to the lake and swim north to (39,51). There you can drown. And you pop up at (34,37) back near Morning Breeze Village.

Okay two things that are bugging me about this zone.
1.) Is it at all possible to max out the Reputation with the Shang Xi Academy?

There are zero mail boxes on The Wondering Isle.
If you want to mail heirlooms to your new panda toon, you'll have to wait until you choose a faction to use them. This happens at level 12.
If you make a pandaren, and send it mail, or, have completed the achievement

waiting for you in the mail... you will
not
be able to delete this character until you pick a faction. Your only other option is to write a ticket and ask a GM to delete your endangered panda toon.
There are no mailboxes as your panda is neutral with horde and alliance.
Hopefully the Heirloom Journal will be available soon for all our heirloom needs!

The Wandering Isle is a giant turtle named Shen-zin Su that left Pandaria 10,000 years ago and began growing. Pandaren afflicted with wanderlust accompanied the giant turtle, venturing out to explore the known world. They were gone for such a long time that their own homeland was even lost to them. Forests lush and green sprang up upon the turtle's back, and the pandaren erected buildings, temples, and farms. Wildlife native to Pandaria also live upon the turtle's back.

...not leave the island by any known means, this includes zen pilgrimage, mage teleports, glyphed astral recall, death location exploits, dungeon/battleground queues, graveyard exploits, and outside assistance from players in another faction, as all these means have been either hotfixed to not work or never worked to begin with.

As of 6.1 we have an heirloom tab that allows Neutral Pandaren to use heirlooms on the isle. The heirloom mount however cannot be used until you pick Alliance or Horde due to the faction specific drivers each have.

With more and more players trying to reach higher levels on the Wandering Isle it would be nice if they added primary class trainers and daily quests.
Maybe NPCs that become visible or that you can start interacting with every 20 or more levels for more quests so players don't have to rely on questing high level outside characters and giving the exp to their Pandaren. Don't know if that trick was blocked off, but it would be nice to not have to rely on tricks, glitches and outside characters to reach high levels and still keep your sanity. It would still be a serious pain to level, but it would be a
closer to sane
challenge and there would at least be more to do to break up the monotony and make time spent on the island more enjoyable. Personally I wish I could catch the long-eared mink for a battle pet.
Perhaps as a reward for reaching a high enough level you can pick a faction to leave with, but when you arrive you can say this isn't for me walk away neutral. You'd be be too powerful to stop. Don't know how being neutral would affect your gameplay in the outside world, but there are scattered neutral places allover where you'd no doubt be accepted. Problem is, would the side you walked away from see you as a traitor and other still see you as the enemy or would you be given free rein to roam wherever?
I'd like opinions and suggestions.

There is a chance this is just me - but has anyone else noticed when you are on the Wandering Isle...
The first time you enter the Temple of Five Dawns, you enter from the NORTH, and the statue of Shen and Liu are facing you. Every time thereafter, when you enter the temple it is from the SOUTH, and the statue is now facing you in that direction as you enter.
Just some food for thought. :)
Additional note: The innkeeper remains by the North Entrance. Things to make you go Hmm...

For those wondering how to get up in the Temple of Five Dawns there is a whirlwind that you click on to get to the upper level. Don't try to walk around the Temple as blizz has made it impossible. Don't bother looking for a FP either. Argh!

For those of us who wish to level as a member of the Neutral Faction this is our zone from 1 to level cap, which changes from expansion to expansion. Get used to it.

Here are all the subzone waypoints for The Wandering Isle (starting zone version), for completionists. Note that TomTom doesn't support using the zone name "The Wandering Isle" in waypoint commands - it will give you a zone not found error. However, as you will definitely be in the zone when entering these commands (since once you leave you can't return anyway), it doesn't matter really.
(Note that this only covers the starting zone version; the order hall version is slightly different and has some additional subzones like Valley of Sighs, Stormstout Inn, Hall of the Seasons, Hall of the Twin Brothers and Terrace of Clear Thought.)

When you arrive on the island, initially you are restricted to only the Shang Xi Training Grounds. However, very early (after accepting the quest

) the door will open and you get access to explore the vast majority of the isle. As another commenter noted, you can even get to the final area of Pei-Wu Forest, by following the river south of Ki-Han Brewery and stopping just before the waterfall that would drop you out of the zone.
The only area you can't access from this point is the west side of the island, covering The Dawning Span, Morning Breeze Village, Fe-Feng Village etc. as they are too high up. Only after accepting

then a whirlwind will appear in Temple of Five Dawns, carrying you to the top floor of the temple from where you can access the west side of the island. There are still some areas only unlocked through quests, notably The Wood of Staves which is unlocked after completing

Once you have completed

, the whirlwind will disappear and it's no longer possible to get to those areas on the west side of the island normally. However, a trick from

still works - basically go to the Wreck of the Skyseeker and walk around the south coast, staying as close as possible to the centre until you are forced to drop into the fatigue zone. Wait until the fatigue kills you, and your ghost will spawn at the graveyard in The Wood of Staves (assuming you've already unlocked The Wood of Staves as above). By rezzing there, you can get back to all those areas on the west side of the island.
Once you leave the island as part of
新的命运
, you can't come back (although you can enter a very slightly different version if you are a monk, as their order hall).
