Hunter specific tips:
- In my guild we have a warlock to pull caster-twin and a hunter to pull physical-twin
- Pull with aimed shot to get aggro (distracting shot won't work on him) and so that you don't loose aggro to healers
- When you've run over to mt use detecence if you have it (and aspect of the monkey ofc)
- When mt has hit the twin at least 2 times (preferably 3) you can feign death and join the others
- No aimed shots after 5 sec warning to teleport, aimed shots might go off, follow the twin after his teleport and you'll aggro him right away
- NO MULTISHOT! remove it from your bar, even I have pressed it by mistake after having downed them about 6 times
- Only aimed shot and rapid fire are any good to cast here while nuking
- Hunters run right after teleport, not when melee'ers run

A very fun fight that gets everyone involved. There was a very big sense of accomplishment from any guild that could down these folks. The fight consisted of mad amounts of DPS, extreme sense of raid-oriented-coordination, very skilled healers that could tell who
needed
heals, and requires
everyone
to pay attention.

One of the most skill sensitive boss fights I've seen. Do not attempt with PuGs unless you know they are commited.
Good tip if you are pugging/haven't done - have two pallies at both sides and have them consecrate every 25 seconds so upon teleport there is damage ticking on the caster or the melee boss. This at least helps hold them there.

Both emperor's are impossible for a death knight or a paladin to tank as they tank with a mixture of physical and magical damage. Meaning that your threat is less than half of what it should be. That means that the most either can do in this encounter is to deal with the bug adds.

The Splintered Hand, of Turalyon-EU, just five-manned the Twin Emps at 80 in a mix of heroic and Conquest gear.
Setup: warrior tank and resto shaman stayed on one side for the entire fight, holy priest plus arcane mage and druid tank stayed on the other. Physical tanks used aggro abilities to grab Vek'nilash on the switch each time as usual; mage and shammy picked up Vek'lor when he turned up on their respective sides. Priest kept the mage healed, shammy healed himself. Physical tanks picked up and despatched the bug adds while Vek'lor was on their side, since they had little else to do.
Be careful; the aggro after the switch can be
very
twitchy. In particular, it appears that a high-threat ability used immediately before the switch can dump threat onto an Emperor a split second afterwards (possibly due to latency) causing him to charge over to the other side of the room immediately. Both physical and magic tanks need to be aware of this and be ready to fire off some threat moves immediately; it helps if physical tanks position themselves along the path that Vek'nilash will take to get to his brother, so he has to come though you (and you're not chasing him around).
Most importantly,
do not use DoTS.
After the switch and subsequent aggro wipe, it would appear that the first action on each Emperor's threat table gains a large chunk of bonus threat. This, I believe, is what creates the impression that you can grab high threat through proximity aggro. But if a DOT ticks straight after the switch (even something relatively minor, like the burn effect from a Mage fireball) the tick will generate huge threat, and the Emperor will typically charge straight back across the room. With our Druid tank using Lacerate, for example, I couldn't pull aggro back even with a 9K+ Shield Slam. He had the same problem with my Deep Wounds.
We downed the Emps with two minutes left on the berserk timer; we didn't allow them to heal even once. It's doable, just takes a good deal of concentration. Good luck.

These guys were hellish for me on my hunter, even though we wiped hard on them in that fail pug I was in. 90% of my abilities seem to count as "magic" even though they don't get reflected by any spell reflects (and +spell damage is lol-worthy on a hunter) so I could only use auto and steady shot against him, and could only throw arcane shot against the other twin to avoid the dot from explosive shot, even though it was only three seconds. Couldn't use black arrow, or serpent sting, so just stuck with scorpid sting.
Had a trinket that helped when rapid fire was on CD...as well as berserk. Being a troll has benefits sometimes.
It was just so awful testing to see what would and wouldn't work and watching as it said "Immune" to explosive shot. Kill shot wasn't even part of the equation as we didn't even get 10% down before our tanks' brains hemorrhaged.
500-700 DPS cut down to about 90-200 dps for one fight before we wiped. Jeez, that sucked. These bosses are not a huntard's friend.
Didn't help that my pet kept dying because the other twin kept pulling it with his AoE because our tanks were retarded and couldn't keep them apart.

I found that for PuGing the twin emps, its best to have 2 tanks (caster and a melee) on each side. 4 total. That way switches are easier.
DPS must stay on their toes and swap between veklor and veknilash.
This fight is one of the most fun encounters I've ever done, even doing this at 80.

Our pug had 20 people, a few of them 60s and 70s, the rest 80s of varying gear levels. On each side we put a strong tank (we used pallies) and healer apiece, then magic dps on Vek'lor's side and physical dps on Vek'nilash's side. The raid was instructed as follows:
Stay on your designated platform for the whole fight.
Keep the target you start with through the whole fight, do not switch when they teleport.
Use as many dots as possible as often as possible.
No AoE or multiple target attacks.
The twins got three teleports off before downing. After each teleport they immediately ran back to their original corners. They did heal in passing but were damaged far more than the heal before teleporting again.
Once we tried this strategy this was the easiest fight of the raid. I highly recommend it to any raid with plenty of firepower.

Tried this last night as a guild fun run, I took my lvl 80 paladin tank (in ilvl 232 gear), we had about 9 in the group, at first we tried pulling them together and nuking them as has been suggested - complete fail - we just had to give up eventually as we could not out dps there heals.
I've seen it suggested you need at least 15,000 dps for this to work to out damage there heals, in theory we should have had that but as it was a social group that may not have been the case...
On the second try we attempted to keep them apart and failed again, this time it was simply a case of not understanding the mechanics, and so on switch over they would imeadiatly sprint across the room, passing each other and healing up.
Another attempt with the same result made it clear this was not going to be a simple level 80 nuke for lol's and move on, so we took a little time to read tactics and set out roles and positions.
On the forth atempt we had a pala tank (me) and a lock tank on one platform with a healer, and a warior tank and a lock tank with a healer on the other, our 2 melee dps were assigned to Vek'nilash, and all the other caster dps were assigned to Vek'lor, everyone was told not to use any kind of dots or AOE.
This started much better and we quickly had them down to 75% with all going well, then they swaped for about to 3rd time and I was unable to get agro, Vek'nilash then sprint back across the room, they healed yup, and we were back to square one...
We had to break off then as it was late but reading the comments above I can offer the following feed back:
If you want to try nuking them down together, out pacing there heals, you need alot of DPS, 15,000 seems light to me, but we are going back so I will test and update...
If you want to tank them in the conventional way, warriors by far seem ot have the best threat on them, and no taunt fail issues.
Hand of reckoning does not work - but Avengers shield does work as a ranged taunt.
Be careful; the aggro after the switch can be very twitchy. In particular, it appears that a high-threat ability used immediately before the switch can dump threat onto an Emperor a split second afterwards (possibly due to latency) causing him to charge over to the other side of the room immediately.
I am in agreement with this, speed of pickup after the teleport is the key to this fight, time it right and you can just bat them back and forth happily until the dps get them down, but loose that initial pickup - and they will break loose and cause havoc.
2 reasons for this are:-
Dots of any kind, even from the tank (Seal of Corruption is a no no, I went with Seal of Righteousness).
Latency, as quoted above, if you are too quick on the pickup they may not have quite cleared down there agro table and so your taunt although it hits - it effectivly misses as they then clear down moments after your taunt and so go charging back accross the room, I saw this first hand...
A Paladin can tank Vek'lor with holy spells, but not enough to be dps'd as well, and the aoe knock back with slowing makes this very very dificult, and as a caster he is hard to kite so your back is to a wall.
Overall a fun and challenging fight, be prepard to come prepared and not face roll this, I'm looking forward to going back and downing these guys...

He also has some kind of Sword Specialization with a chance of doing an extra hit (like the old one or windfury).
Not sure if he still has it but i remember some wipes back in the days cause of such double hits right after an unbalancing strike.
Good thing to counteract this, was to shield the tank right after an UBS.

Currently trying to 2 man this encounter using 2 warriors
the amount of dps needed to get them down before 15 minute Berserk is 2405 dps TOTAL
we using 0/31/40 spec
using the 0/31/40 spec and being mostly 264 geared we managed to get them all the way to 13 % best try
when berserk hit , the Veklor Tank got smacked pretty fast since we where not ready with cooldowns and kinda messed up a bit and the best attemt was far from perfect..
going with some dps trinkets and dps gear for next attemts and i thik we got it since incoming damage is MORE the manageble
you simply use Bloodthirst to regen health on all the small bugs on the floor while tanking Veklor
the threat from that roughly 1.1k heal per hit + the 5k initial threat you get after teleport is more than enough to hold aggro ;) T10 4 set bonus and the Corroded skelleton Key helps loads aswell(using this/theese at the end of Veklor tank period)
Enragedregeneration we used for backupheals while tanking Veklor only (using it when tanking veknilash will most likely overaggro the veklor tanks
when Veknilash comes to your side use Retaliation and Deathwish whn possible combined with improved revenge (killing the adds at the same time) and the dps needed is possible to achieve ;)
its all about getting it *perfect' and stopping your dps in the EXACT right moment to get as few seconds as possible with 0 dps (getting a hit on Veknilash yust as they teleport can be a disaster since the attack can actualy hit the target after he has teleported to the other side )
GL to ANYONE attemnting this 2/3 man i can promise you 15 minutes of shear fun ;)
to person in above post talking about *an extra attack* is eather that unbalancing strike is on another swing timer then the auto attack 2.0 speed swing timer he usualy has OR its simply a parry haste attack

Last night we 3 maned Twins, your grp was, Prot paladin, Deathknight in tanking gear Frost spec, Resto shaman in Elemtal gear,
I (the paladin) started vek'lor while the Deathknight started on vek'nilash
Dk pulls Nilash (the melee one) all the way to the wall, I Just do exo and range attacks on the caster,
after the Teleport, Lor will be at the wall with the dk tanking him thus making him only being knocked back at the wall and able to melee, with out any problems, While I Take Nilash to a wall , thus making every teleport the caster will only knock us at the wall so making it very easy to melee etc,
The shaman alway's follows Vek'lor he does more dmg since we can avoid most of the attacks on vek'nilash,(melee one) there shouldn't be any healing pressure, 1 heal per teleport is more then enough + with the shaman following vek'lor he'll be able to dmg him aswell,
paladin make sure your not using seal of truth the dot might Aggro him, back to you after the teleport,
I can imagen to paladins soloing this easily most of our ability's work on both of them. "Judgment seal dmg and Avenger's Wrath and even Shield of the Righteous works on both of em
We had 5 mins left of Enrage we' were average 264 I hope this helps ya,

This encounter is able to be 2-manned - we duo'd it last night with myself as a feral tank in a mix of gear ranging from 232-264s and blood DK in ICC25 gear. (Shock, not two paladins!)
The fight was fairly simple but with not much room for error. We pulled and kept the emperors on the two platforms, obviously tanking them with our backs to the wall. We remained stationary, and simply immediately picked up the emperor that teleported to our side; this switching was the key to staying alive without heals.
The fight was essentially the same on both sides. During Vek'lor we would just focus on staying alive. (I was able to pop out and heal, and we both needed to use cooldowns). We would then use Vek'nilash to heal up (Leader of the Pack, Death Strike), and DPS them down (since we both had primarily physical damage). So for each of us it alternated between stay alive, self heal/dps, stay alive, etc. Did this for 12 minutes, and epic win.
Some things that we noticed:
- You need to be with your back to the WALL. Both platforms have a sort of alcove or corner, and you want to avoid tanking them there as much as possible. We did this for a while because it minimized knockback, but this seems to lag their teleportation a few seconds, eliminating the short time window to grab threat and allowing one to run to the other. In the end this left too much room for error.
- Kill Vek'linash's mutated scarabs. It just lessens the incoming damage.
- Be quick to grab aggro. This meant Icy Touch/Faerie Fire for Vek'lor and whatever physical attack was up for Vek'linash. We didn't hit the enrage timer so we would have been able to manage some heals, but the issue was that once one they started running to the other it was almost impossible to separate them again.
Fun stuff!

Was able to solo today Elemental shaman 359iLvl, 4pt11,
Was able to solo by speccing points into resto Totemic Focus to allow for 3+mins on earth / fire elemental and laying them on opposing platform. starting off on non magic immune boss i was able to burn with flask + lust + pot + EM them down to roughly 30%, when melee swapped onto me fire elemental was able to pick up threat and hold magic boss on other side while i swapped to 2hnder with WF for kicks :P, 30-40 seconds later the caster boss ported back, i repotted , prepotted first time popped EM again and burned them down, all in all, took about 3-3.5 hours of trying, mostly waiting on Earth elemental cooldown. I'm willing to go on a limb and say that elemental shamans + warlocks are probably the only class that will ever be able to solo these 2.
my apologies in advance for bad grammar/english... i have been bashing my head on desk like this was heroic nefarian for last 4 hours :P.

There's a video of a rogue pulling Vek'nilash alone. The footage is actually pretty useless, he simply runs up to the boss and for some unexplained reason Vek'lor does not join in.
- One of the nearby anubis mobs tags along. Since he charges in mounted, it may have been an unnoticed/ignored tagalong, or triggered by the boss since the encounter aggros any skipped anubis trash. It may also be deliberate and part of the exploit.
- He plays a rogue but there's no vanish involved. In fact, lolrecupe is insufficient with the anubish around and he flees with vanish, only to engage
again
without Vek'lor triggering.
The video description simply says "Using good timing i pulled Vek'nilash alone" but since his only actions are standing around and standing around, I'm not sure just what event was timed.

There's a clever C'thun solo in there too, so "Private server." isn't a very solid theory.
EDIT:
I've heard a few more details now that it surfaced on mmochamp's front page. First, it was PTR work. Second, rather than responses, youtube comments upset about the blatant obfuscation are being "removed by author". As more and more people call BS on the pull and there's no statement, "Private server." starts to gain weight.

some warrior messaged me explaining how he can almost solo due to maintaining ~ 31 K dps
Don't think it's only a dps issue though.
To maintain 31k, sounds very impressive btw, is not really enough.
That just deals with the healing rate. Then you have to start killing them, and that you would have to do pretty fast since if you can pull that amout of dps you probably don't have a lot of defensive stats.
The huge issue with this encounter is
#1 Dps - At least 30k and that is pretty tough atm.
#2 Suvivability - You have to survive for a while. They're still boss level and they still hurt.
These two points are in conflict.
So verdict: Yeah maybe within two patches, or if a mechanic work around is found maybe earlier (this is highly doubtful though.)
Final word: It's really impressive that a boss encounter 25 levels below cap still causes unwairy players so much headache. Well done Blizzard =)
*Edit* It seems like a warrior has done it. Found the vid on youtube and it seems legit (

Note that the
5/11 patch notes
include the following hotfix:
Select classes are no longer able to aggro and pull a single enemy NPC from a linked group through various measures of sneakiness.
This suggests (but does not prove) that Jider may in fact have been able to pull one twin and not the other without being on a private server. Since the hotfix is grouped under "classes", this was something that only certain classes could do, rogues possibly included (being the "sneakiest" of them all, after all). However, it's still only conjecture and does NOT explain HOW he was able to do it or how he could de-aggro the emp to fight the add. That is the explanation that is still missing here.
I suspect that it in fact was a bug (which is now hotfixed) and that Jider was aware of this, which is why he has not come forward with a detailed explanation.

I found the comments on here very contradictory when trying to 2 man this encounter, so I thought I'd do my best to clear it up.
I 2-manned twin emps as an 85 warrior with an 85 warlock friend. The biggest issue for us was making sure to put DoTs up at all times - a few comments on here said no DoTs, and while this may be the case for classes with hybrid damage, because both of us could only damage one boss we had no issues with damaging the other bosses. We would make sure a DoT was up at all times (Rend and Corruption) and hit escape when the teleport happened, while tanking on their respective spawn platform.
When they teleport, the DoTs would grab aggro and they will run past each other back to you. Yes, they will heal, but we had no trouble out dpsing their heals and neither of us has spectacular gear.
Good luck.

Did this tonight with the following group: Ret Pally, Shadow Priest, Fury Warrior (myself), whom all were level 85.
We had a fair bit of trouble getting these guys down as one of the bosses is immune to magic attacks (Vek'nilash) and one is immune to physical attacks (Vek'lor). However this is how we pulled this fight off.
The Priest and the Warrior made their way over to Vek'lor while the Paladin ran over to Vek'nilash. Priest and Paladin dps accordingly while the warrior targets Vek'nilash. As soon as they teleport the warrior attacks V'n and the Paladin attacks V'l. Same process applies except the priest targets V'l awaiting the teleport.
We had a few mishaps with grabbing aggro which caused us to have to group together (which made them heal around 600k health) and wait for the teleport before quickly separating them again although we did eventually down these bosses.

Tbh it's more to prove that it's possible then a guide. All you need is high enough dps to out dmg the healing that they do while being able to stay alive.

Easy enough to do now. It's a total dps race. You don't have to have both magic/mundane damage. Rogue/Hunter maintained solid DPS throughout the fight did more damage than they could heal, we just switched off when they did.

I'm utterly confused. I on my hunter and my friend on his warrior (both 85) were trying to take these guys down. I started on the caster, warrior on melee and when they ported I simply picked up the melee and warrior kept aggro on the caster which worked fine, however, on random ports, despite having no dots on him the melee came running back to me on the other side when I have aggro on the caster putting the two bloody things together and creating havoc.
Everything works fine, there is no reason for me to get aggro on either of them when they're on the other side of the room as I'm just using steady/aim on melee and chimera/cobra/arcane on caster.
I've read lag can cause final shots before they port to create aggro, but with my ms running at 50 I don't see any reason for this =/

For those who want the achievement now:
As a spriest for this fight it was quite HORRIBLE. My solution was to have 2 melee players help me get it. I just sat back and basically heal those two in a corner. I also did it on my death knight with the help of a melee shaman. So here is my guide:
Pull them to a corner by the stairs so that they wont knock you back. It's okay if they are together.
Dps this guy down FAST. DO NOT bring someone who hits less than 14k. They will enrage and you will die.
It takes a very long time to kill him so yeah if you have patience give it a go!
P.S through out this whole encounter you are basically ignoring the caster
Unless you hit for 30k *this is based off of damage meters* you can solo it! I've seen a paladin solo it, death knight solo it, and a warrior solo it. How? If you are geared, chances are you can solo everything.
thats it. Enjoy and have fun :)

Curious tidbit: If you're doing the stack-and-outdps-the-heal method,
死疽打击
on Vek'nilash will make his health drop faster than his brother's. They both die when one of them reaches zero health, making this and presumably standard Mortal Strike effects a good way to speed the fight up.

Posting to confirm that Twin Emperors are soloable by a level 85 Ret Paladin, ilvl 392.
It was a very long fight compared to others in AQ40 - it took about 12 minutes because of the healing done by the bosses and the requirement of healing myself. It could probably be done a little faster, as my strategy somewhat evolved throughout the encounter. No flasks or other consumable buff items were used.
Balancing damage output, self-healing, and reducing their heals is key to soloing this. My basic strategy was to damage Emperor Vek’nilash, constantly moving away from Vek’lor to reduce the number of heals on them as much as possible. Continuous movement was also required to move towards fresh groups of scarabs (which respawn - very important for healing). Divine Storm was used nearly every time it was up aside from when Avenging Wrath and Zealotry were active.
Constant use of Divine Storm and 3HP Word of Glory (whenever available) was necessary to keep my health up; quite a bit of damage is taken so every attempt to heal is necessary. I had Devotion Aura active, but looking at the statistics after the fight, Resistance Aura would have been a better choice because Vek’lor did ~62% of the damage. Approximately 92% of that was from his Shadow Bolts, so any Shadow Resist will be helpful.
Nearly all the net damage done to Vek’nilash was done during cooldowns (Avenging Wrath and Zealotry). Time in between cooldowns was mostly spent raising hit points back up and maneuvering. Boss health did not drop much (if at all) during this time. Therefore, time your cooldowns to use them AFTER their teleport so that no DPS time is wasted.
Fight stats are noted below for clarity:
Recount – Damage Done for Emperor Vek’lor 09:44:53-09:56:52

It's possible to solo these guys a Rogue now as well, although depending on your gear you may want to seriously buff up and/or reforge up to the expertise parry cap.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRb0oD2-8is
Don't bother using Blade Flurry, except for any additional bug adds, or Killing Spree, as it will only teleport you to the back of the Twins, which means you'll be kicked away and thus effectively lose damage.
Also don't bother about poisons, the melee twin is immune, and the caster twin isn't even able to be hit by your melee swings to apply the poisons.
You also may want to use Feint to ease up on the healing required during the
暴风雪
.
Besides that, it's a simple matter of outdamaging their heal, and outhealing their damage, as for every class soloing this encounter.
I'm currently trying to determine if you're somehow able to make yourself eligible for Vek'lor's loot. You normally aren't, as you don't do any damage to him (and he drops the Rogue token). A single
“易投”炸弹 II
cast at the beginning wasn't enough, although it did damage to him. Maybe
献祭之油
will work, or I need to damage him before their last heal (which could turn out to be quite tricky).

Just soloed as a warrior fury. Patch 5.0.4 item level 384. stand in the corner of the staircase to avoid push ability.
And specc: Second Wind, it is a Must.. pew pew nuke. keep good dps and cleave down the add that they summon. happy farming :)

Easily soloable as an arms warrior as long as you spec into second wind and don't AoE the scarabs. The heal from SW will basically make you invincible once your below 35% health.
All you have to do is stick to vek'nilash whenver he teleports and out dps their healing.
Also, if you pull the boss without having killed the anubis mobs in the previous tunnel, you're gonna have a bad time.

Just soloed as a 395 Fury warrior. The comments below are correct (especially regarding the Anubisath Swarmguards
阿努比萨斯虫群卫士
, that's no joke), it is a fairly easy fight that only requires a little positioning.
However, when I tried this in 5.0.5, I was consistently getting disconnected if I took the position against the wall at the bottom of the staircase on the far right side. Two punts back to back were a DC every time. It does kind of look like wall-walking, so maybe there's some new anti-exploit check in place here.
Instead, take them to the corner made by the pillar and the wall at the top of the stairs, directly behind Vek'Nilash. It's not as tight a triangle so you can be moved out, but it works and doesn't get the server mad at you.

As a DK, after the release of MoP, don't try to solo this unless you can crank out over 30k dps (mostly single-target, not including STDs) in blood spec. The ability "Heal Brother" is now used by both of them, and since they share health pool, they are now healing for 60k every 2 secs, whereas it used to be 30k/2 secs.
Thanks blizz, for "fixing" this.

Very easy to do as a level 90 warrior
Did it with arms spec with heroic blues
Just blew all my cds on Vek'nilash and just out dps'd his heals
i did lose about half my health but health pots and second wind made sure that i wasnt gonna die
For classes that have half magical/half physical dps this fight will still cause problems imo

Its worth noting that while this boss is pretty easy to solo now, pulling them with the Anubis warriors in the previous hallway alive will also aggro them. You might still be able to kill the Emps when this happens, but will likely die shortly after. I suggest clearing them on your way in rather then skip them like I did my first attempt.
Also, for melee (or hunters) you will want to target Veknilash, and casters will want to target Vek'lor.

Tried to solo at lvl85 as Ret Pally and can confirm now that they double heal (After MoP release onward both brothers now heal, doubling their HPS) you need to be lvl90 to effectively solo. During cooldowns was able to get maybe ~40% of his health down, but during downtime between they slowly healed him back up to full.
Should not be an issue at 90 though, as other comments are saying.

Ok I just solo'd it with my itsy bitsy ilvl450 hunter.
Clear all those big guardians in the other room first.
Buff up, set pet on passive and camo sneak behind Vek'nilash. To make things easier put a raid symbol on him. You want to squeeze yourself tight into the corner right behind him, up on the platform.
MD pet and fire away. Blow all CDs you have and maintain Widow Vemon.
Never ever focus or fire on anything else, bugs will attack you and the twins will switch once but even then do not move from your corner and do not fire on anything else, just wait for Vek to come back into range. You are tough enough to handle to blows, trust me.
You'll burn through Vek at a nice pace, just keep popping CDs, use readiness wisely, use widow venom and you'll bring him down.
This took me a couple of tries, first time I forgot a couple of the guards in the other room, then I stupidly fired on the other twin when they swapped and this just messed with me, third time the charm.

Just soloed this as a combat rogue. My stats:
ilv 476
Food 300 agi
Elixir 275 haste
Leeching and Deadly Poison
I wasn't very prepared tactics-wise and the attempt was a bit sloppy but I think decent gear and buffs made the difference.
By far, the biggest problem is incredible healing from Vek'lor. Need to nuke like crazy but at the same time keep your health up with Recuperate and Shiv, cause in prolonged fight they can take you down. Also used 2xCombat Readiness and 2xEvasion to gain some air and healing potion just to be on the safe side near the end of the fight. Didn't drop pet but it won't be a problem to do it again.
Good luck.

Made a few attempts at this as a Lv 90 Enh Shaman, 480 iLvl, but couldnt really get anywhere on it. Damage during the fight is trivial, but there is no practical way to out dps the healing being done with only 2 melee abilities that are constantly being parried, even at exp cap. My best attempt was about 75% with lust and wolves out, but all it takes is one Stormstrike getting parried and all your work is undone.

Possible to solo as Enhancement Shaman, but very annoying. Tips:
- Stand with your back to a wall/in a corner so you can't be knocked back. Once you find a good spot, don't move
- Damage Vek'nilash at all times; he can only be damaged by melee damage
- Use Chain Lightning with Maelstrom Weapon when you don't need healing to get rid of the bugs and damage Vek'lor (only so you can loot both bosses)
- Don't use any totems except Healing Stream/Healing Tide, and no cooldowns except Shamanistic Rage/Heroism either, as he is immune to all your nature damage and will attack elementals, totems and wolves instead of you. This will lead to him healing while you can't reach him (knockback and 70% slow)
- Use Unleashed Fury (talent) and keep it up as much as possible
- Only use Stormstrike and Unleash Elements with Windfury on him
- Optional: Reforge haste instead of mastery
The fight took me 8 minutes and was quite annoying. When I tried to burst down Vek'lor instead with totems/wolves/ascendance he would not fall below 60% before I get knocked around/slowed and they teleport while healing, so this is the only way I made it work.

I just solo'd this as a 90 BM hunter (458 iLvL), mainly like how is shown in
this video
.
There really wasn't much I could do in the way of attacks apart from auto-shot, Kill Command, BW when available, and MDing with Multi-Shot/Barrage after the teleport spell (though I'm not sure how effective they were at anything really). The only way I was able to out DPS the healing was to keep Widow Venom up on Vek'nilash at all times.
Keep your pet backed into a corner and attacking Vek'nilash, keep Widow Venom up, and mash Kill Command. c:

After reading the comments about trying to solo these bosses I can confirm I have succeeded as a lvl 90 fire mage. Pretty straight forward really! I concentrated on Vek'lor and nuked him with Pyro, kept Living Bomb up & fireballed with Pyro proc. Timewarp & Mirror Image helped. The only frustrating part was getting batted around from melee hits. Waspleasantly surprised when both bosses died at the same time! 36k dps was more than enough to do the job.

Soloed Twin Emperors as an Affli Warlock with Voidlord.
Talents:
Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Unbound Will, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs:
Demon Training, Soul Shards, Siphon Life
Tactic:
OMG, I hate those Bosses...
You should tank Vek'lor, which is immune to physical dmg and your Voidlord should tank Vek'nilash, which is immune to magical dmg. Easier said than done. Every 30-40sec, the 2 Twins will switch places. There is a complete aggro wipe and the Emperors will attack the closest person to them, who will receive a big amount of threat. Vek'lor uses Arcane Burst, which will knock back your Voidlord after switch and slows its movement speed by 70%. Whenever the Twins get within 60 yards of one another, they will spam heal each other - nuke Emperor Vek'lor and watch how slowly dies. Remember that before you pull the Bosses it is necessary to clear the trash in the room before their room! Good Luck and Have Fun!
With patch 5.1 Twin Emperors became easier to solo - recast time for Heal Brother has been increased to 3sec (was 2). In addition, they can now drop

I tried to solo this fight as a ilvl 452 survival hunter without knowing the mechanics and, of course, it gave me serious trouble. I was was trying to out-DPS the healing, knowing that I should be able to do it, but was surprised to find I was doing less than half my usual DPS.
Of course, as hunter, your DPS is split between physical and magical damage. How I handled this fight simply was to switch to a marksmanship spec and only fire shots that caused physical damage (and to always target Vek'Linash. Steady Shot and Aimed Shot, along with all of my talents and cooldowns, were enough to take him down. (I tagged Vek'lor with Serpent Sting as I'd heard you may not get credit for him without attacking him at least once.)

For you Death Knights, you can solo this fairly easily though it takes a while, and can get a bit frustrating. I'm Frost spec, 472 ilevel, and used a rotation of
Necrotic Strike
,
Death Strike
, and
Frost Strike
(other spec related special strikes should be fine, but Necrotic and Death are key). Whittled him down after about 10-15 minutes without coming close to dying.

The trick? Target Vek'nilash(this guy, the physical dps)and burn him to high hell. It'll take a while before his brother gets within range, and hopefully by then you will have gotten his health sufficiently down for you to out-dps the heals.

Just solo'd the twins as a 87 destro lock, wanted to offer up my experience to other pet hunters.
Sorry in advance for the overload of information, but hoping non-locks will be able to glean something from what I did to help them.
First off, a pic of where I did the kill.
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg84/VSUReaper/twinempsexplained_zpsc0afae00.jpg
I originally started by having my voidlord go and pull Vek'nilash, and then ordered him to stand (with back to the corner) in the corner by the stairs.
I had placed my Demonic gateways up so that I could rush to the other side with Vek'lor and just try to stay alive when they teleported back and forth with the stairs separating the bosses (keeping them out of range of heals, but in range for Soul Link to be active), but for whatever reason, I couldn't get Vek'lor's attention.
When I realized that they were teleporting on top of each other, and I had no way to pull one of them over to me, I decided to just try and see how long I could last and how much damage I could do to them. Took me a few minutes to realize that I could burn about 4% of their health down on Vek'lor before the heal would heal 3% of what I had just done. I stuck with it, burning all my CD's as often as I could and eventually got it.
Damage to me was mostly trivial - empowered bugs would come over and take a few swipes at me, and Vek'lor kept casting Blizzard on me. Most of the healing required came from my demon who was soul linked to me.
A few things to note:
- I had a cookie jar next to me for most of the fight - ended up using 5 of them.
- I used my Burning Embers for Ember Taps and Chaos Bolts - more ET than CB.
- Since I'm an herbalist, I used Lifeblood on CD, and at one point I fired off 3 CB's back to back and used a Life Spirit (herbalist item - counts as a potion) to bring us back up.
- I was also hitting Mortal Coil on CD (extra 15% heal).
- I summoned the TerrorGuard, but I dont think he did very much - he seemed to start to DPS, and then after a teleport just stood there and did nothing.
- My dragonling from my trinket on the other hand was extremely active.
- Only focused on Vek'lor, saw him getting about a 30k heal every 4-6 seconds - some comments on wowhead said that its a 60k heal.
- I MADE SURE I RAN OVER AND MELEE'D VEK'NILASH TO GET CREDIT FOR DAMAGING HIM AND TO GET ACCESS TO HIS LOOT TABLE!
My setup as a destro - I like to think I'm slightly above average with my gear/stat levels, but not 100% sure.
417 ilvl
208.4k HP
10,852 spell
13.9% haste
9.01% hit
16.96% crit
52.83% mastery
Items of note - I'm using a Rain Poppy Staff with Elemental Force (for killing Viscidius) and a Ghost Iron Dragonling (Hit/Haste/Mastery) and an Alchemist Stone.
Talents: Harvest Life / Mortal Coil / Soul Link / Burning Rush (not needed for this fight) / Grim of Supremacy.
Glyphs: Burning Embers / Demon Training / Siphon Life (extremely helpful!).
I hope all this info helps, if you have questions, please reply and I will try my best to answer.

Just solo'd as an Arms Warrior, I didn't need to have SW specced as some have stated, ilvl 471 + reforge + gems. Pulled Vek'nilash, dug into the corner or the staircase and started burning him down. I got Impending Victory off twice during the fight, ran back to the corner whenever I got knocked around, and hammered Cleave whenever I spotted an add.
All in all a pretty simple fight without any 'oh shi-' moments.

The proc of
Elemental Force
does
count towards tagging
Vek'lor
(the caster). So, if you have a any brawler class unable to do magical damage naturally (warriors, paladins, etc - no, NONE of the paladin holy damage abilities worked for me). This enchantment really is the way to go.
Be sure to hit Vek'lor with your enchanted weapon and watch the combat log to verify when the proc occurs, after that you can safely slay Vek'nilash without having to worry about the loot.

If you're a Rogue, this is much easier as Combat instead of Assassination. Vek'nilash is immune to poison so your SnD will keep dropping off, and more importantly a lot of Assassination's damage is from poisons.
Go Combat and kite Vek'nilash around the room. Use Sprint/Shadowstep/etc to close the gap back to Vek'nilash when they swap positions to reduce their proximity healing in this window. He should drop fairly fast. Compared to Assassination anyway.

As an iLvl 455 Blood/Frost DK, could not solo the twins. Tried switching to Frost to out-dps Vek'nilash, but couldn't pull it off. Healers-Have-To-Die addon was going crazy on both twins, so I guess they heal eachother. From what I'm reading here, ranged dps seems to have better luck, as well as higher iLvl geared plate wearers.

Finally managed to solo this as
Enhancement Shaman
, even with the 'fix' that makes their healing even higher.
I pulled them to a corner, beside the stairs. This way, I can line of sight Vek'lor until he comes very close. When the first teleport occurs, Vek'lor comes to melee range and Vek'nilash gets his place a little farther, but then both are within melee range. Also, in that position, Vek'nilash can't kick me away, so I'm always within melee range.
When they were in that position I started actually killing them:
1) Was using Windfury Weapon on both weapons and ALWAYS attacking Vek'nilash.
2) Was mainly using auto-attack. Used Stormstrike and Unleash Elements the instant they got out of CD.
3) Kept Magma Totem up at all times. I wasn't keeping track of Vek'lor's health, but that seemed to help reduce their healing (maybe when Vek'lor's health wasn't full, the healing didn't splash to Vek'nilash. Maybe).
4) Whenever I had Maelstrom Weapon at 5 stacks, I either healed myself with Healing Surge (+glyph of Healing Storm) or used Chain Lightning (which missed on Vek'nilash but splashed to Vek'lor and whatever scorpions that wandered in). Again, I wasn't keeping track of Vek'lor's health, but this seemed to help.
5) Popped Bloodlust, Lifeblood (herbalism), Elemental Mastery, Feral Spirit and my Agility trinket (basically, anything that boosts your melee damage and speed should work). This way I managed to get Vek'nilash to about 1.5M pretty quickly.
6) Sometimes, when I wanted to Chain Lightning some more, I used Ancestral Guidance and Healing Stream Totem to help me out on health. I used Life Spirit (heals 120,000 - herbalism) once and it saved me some more Chain Lightnings in a row.
7) Whenever melee cooldowns were active, I used them. Same for Feral Spirit. Now, when I popped Feral Spirit, I had to be sure to have Stormstrike and Unleash Elements out of CD, so I could imediately hit Vek'nilash hard enough to avoid losing threat for the wolves. If they grab aggro, Vek'nilash may kick them away and then move to where they landed, screwing the whole thing by getting out of position.
8) I kept going and eventually Vek'nilash got to about 950k health. That was 10 minutes later, when my Bloodlust was again out of CD, and I could pop everything again and down him to about 200k.
9) I kept doing the melee cooldowns whenever able, Feral Spirit, Chain Lightning and Magma Totem, and about 2 min after the second Bloodlust Vek'nilash died. Phew... I was tired.
Things I tried on my first (failed) attempt:
- Earth and Fire Elemental Totem. Fire probably would help, although I didn't use it, as it would replace Magma Totem, which I didn't want to replace. Also, the Fire Elemental could have screwed by grabbing aggro, since I wasn't hitting with my full force. Earth Elemental just sounds like a horrible idea, since he taunts, so I didn't use it either.
- Ascendance to hit Vek'lor with nature damage. Didn't work because I just spent time hitting the wrong boss, and Enhancement can't keep magic damage all the time. I gave up and just focused on physical attacks.
- Flame Shock on Vek'lor. I used some of it on my successful attempt at the beginning, but then I realized I often 'tabbed' to scorpions, and that only made me lose physical damage time. If you're awesome in switching targets, maybe this could help.
About my gear and level:
- I was obviously at lv90. Since Enhancement is my offspec, gear was very low (item level 455), with a 463-ilv and a 450-ilv weapon. It doesn't require raid gear...
Hope this helps.

This fight was ludicrously easy as a Ret Pally. I pulled him into a tight corner and unloaded. I didn't even notice I had Seal of Insight on until about halfway through the fight.
He caught a few heals from Vek'lor, but my damage was high enough over time to mitigate their effect. Twice during the encounter I was somehow booted across the room, despite having my back to the wall, but no biggie. Made sure to thump Vek'lor once to get his loot, too.
After it was over, I sat back in my chair and chuckled...the Twin Emps almost shattered my old guild back in the day, and there I was, standing beside their corpses after soloing them. Times, they are a-changin'.

Blood DK
Talents: Runic Empowerment
Blood Presence
Skills used:
Necrotic Strike
Death Strike
Rune Strike
Heart Strike
Your goal is to land as many Necrotic Strikes as possible on Vek'nilash. This is achieved through Death Strike activating Blood Rites which makes your next Frost/Unholy rune a Death rune when activated. Make sure to keep your back against the wall / in a corner to prevent knockbacks yada yada. There's nothing else to it really. Sometimes they swap positions, I just stay on the spot and wait for him to come right back. Tap Vek'lor once before killing Vek'nilash for loot.

Some outdated info here...the brothers no longer heal each other for 30K/tick, or at least not as often. I soloed this as a level 88 fury warrior tonight, and I was only averaging 12-14K dps. It was a long fight, but not obnoxiously long, my rough estimate would be 6-7 minutes.
I had tried this as a fresh 85, doing maybe 8-9k average DPS, and couldn't get through their heals, so I'm guessing 10k is probably the break even point.
EDIT: just did this again on my Warrior, and while the Emps do heal for 30K, the ticks are spread out. Although, in my combat log, the timing was somewhat erratic, with some heals two seconds apart and others as much as five seconds.
Also of note, and as someone else said below, they do heal each other separately, both for 30K. HOWEVER, since I was only damaging the one brother, the other's heal was counted as overheal and so was essentially wasted. This is important to note if you are doing this on a mixed damage type class--I tried this on my 87 frost DK, thinking it would be easier, on account of being able to damage both brothers at the same time. But it essentially doubled the healing I had to get through. Guess I'll have to wait until 90 to do this on my DK.

Just solo'ed this tonight as a level 90 human warrior. I backed them both up in a corner with me having my back against the wall. No matter how much they kept me catapulting in the wall I kept damage on them. No matter how often they switched places they were still on top of me. I just kept bashing the dps and eventually he started to lose more health than gained through the heals. Took a good 8 mins and I spammed all my buttons mostly, but I finally used Bladestorm and took them both out at once.

I just added a similar comment to this on the other Twin's page as the strategy is essentially the same. Your focus/main target for damage will be the only real difference and the following information applies to both Emperors.
Ok, I see a lot of these comments which are great and essentially right, but they aren't actually telling us the main requirement of the mechanic that makes it possible to loot both bosses in a 1 man/solo situation.
After some experimenting, here it is:
The secondary/off focus boss must have at least SOME damage on him
at the time
the twin you are doing your primary class damage upon dies. That's it, simply put.
Here's the "catch":
Remember that they heal each other (essentially) during the fight. While that won't be a problem DPS'ing down your boss at level 90 (you can easily overcome the rate of heals doing as little as 20-30k dps, maybe less), the off twin will be getting healed, too. Therefore, if the only thing you do is to drop a DOT on him do get in the obligatory damage at the beginning of the fight, it WILL be healed by the end of the fight (much sooner, actually) and
you will NOT be able to loot that Twin
. Remember, he (the off-boss whom you are NOT concentrating the majority of your effort on)
cannot have full health at the end of the fight or you will not be able to access his loot table
,
period
. Start dropping your DOT/doing some damage on the off Twin once your focus Twin gets down to less that 15 or 20% health and keep it up.
The reason I am being somewhat ambiguous and not giving specific boss names is because the boss you (your class) needs to focus on may not be the same twin as another class. One boss only takes melee damage and one only takes magic damage. Find the one you can damage (I.E.- it doesn't say IMMUNE everytime you damage him with your main abilities) and he will be your main focus. As a hunter, I just kept a serpent sting (DOT) up on the secondary boss, to make sure he had at least some damage at the end of the fight.
Do NOT worry about keeping their damage percentage equal, it will be near impossible with most classes and unnecessary for all.
Do NOT worry about keeping them apart to prevent heals. Your damage at 90+ on your primary target will easily overcome all heals. Any healing mitigation spells such as a hunter's
Widow Venom
will be helpful to keep up on one of the Twins, but not necessary.
DO keep a little damage/dot rolling on the off focus twin, especially near the end of the fight!
FYI- Tab targeting is a pain at times because of the adds. Putting down some AOE damage where you are fighting at will help clear the area. The best thing I found to do was to "Set Focus" to the off Twin so you can click his face and drop DOTS on him near the end of the fight and then manually switch back to the boss you are actually going to kill, outright.
Edit- Just to be clear (for anyone who doesn't understand the fight at all): Once you kill the Twin you are focusing upon (the one which your class can actually do serious damage to), the off-Twin will hit the ground dead very soon thereafter no matter how much life he has left. As long as he has some, any, a little damage on him when this happens you will get to loot both bosses, including the pet, etc. If you aren't interested in looting both bosses (for whatever reason), just zerg the boss you are able to damage and both will die.

I had a few tries first trying different pets. Tanking pet did too small damage.
Widow Venom was up all the time for 25% healing reduction, very important due to berserk timer.
Mostly spamming Arcane Shot, Beastial Wrath macro using all the offensive spells possible incl. trinket.

I think the comments of "You have to damage both" might be outdated now. I don't know if it was a stealth patch fix at some point or what, but I just went in with my 90 warrior, did all my damage to Vek'nilash (and some scorpion adds), physical DPS only, zero damage to Vek'lor, and still got to loot both.
Intrigued by this discovery, I relogged to my 90 mage, cleared back up to Twin Emps, and focused 100% on Vek'lor with magical damage and left Vek'nilash untouched. Both bosses died with loot sparkles again.
Recount screenshot showing damage to only one at a time, picking up both Vek'lor and Vek'nilash loot:

So this fight is really annoying no matter the spec or class. So here's what I did to kill these annoying bosses.
I started playing this game since right before BC, so my knowledge of this raid was not so substantial. So when I first went in I did not see the emperor on the left, just the right side. So I charged in as Frost Spec, and low and behold her comes the other emperor healing the first one. I couldn't overcome the heals in this spec. I noticed on my last yet successful attempt in Blood spec that these guys were immune to my diseases. So that could be why my Obliterate was not hitting as hard.
My successful attempt was when I switched to Blood and started spamming Necrotic Strike after I had used Death Strike to get my Death Runes required for Necrotic Strike. This absorbed most or all of the healing. I pretty much rinsed and repeated the whole process. The annoying part was when the brothers did the switch and the one that I was attacking, the melee brother, would go after my blood worm and the healing brother would blast me away. So I had to do a little chasing.

As a DK, for 5.3 this is very easy;
I went as Frost, Unholy presence for faster rune regeneration, nudged close to Vek'nilash, brought out Army, engaged, and leisurely burned Vek down using Necrotic Strike and Obliterate. Conversion to keep health up. Stayed in a corner to avoid knockbacks.
Ilvl 488, nothing impressive.
PS: I also did Howling Blast on Vek'lor to ensure I could loot him, but comments for 5.3 indicates this isn't necessary.

There is a special system to kill these two bosses easily in only a couple of minutes
.
Target Vek'nilash and hit him with a ranged shot or spell. Retreat to the door that you entered (now closed) and stay very close to it. When the two emperors come for you, keep hitting Vek'nilash with everything you have got. You will see his HP falling rapidly without his brother's healing having substantial effect. In less than two minutes the two emperors will be dead.
I can confirm this system working twice and solo with my level 90 enhancement shaman.
---------------------------
In my third attempt to solo this, I switched targets and targeted the twin that came close to me at any time. It was Vek' lor. The system worked for him too. His HP fell rapidly and when he pulled away, Vek' nilash came and I targeted him two. When he pulled away and Vek' lor came I targeted Vek' lor. Strangely, Vek' lor's HP were pretty low though as if his brother was not healing him (probably because he was busy fighting me). I kept hitting Vek' lor and soon the fight was over. It took me about 4 to 5 minutes this way and I had lost about 1/3 of my shaman's HP.
---------------------------
Fourth solo attempt to run the dungeon in a single session. The system works. Twins are defeated the same way. This attempt, also game me the
诺兹多姆的子嗣
achievement.

If you are a 90 feral druid this fight has no tricks, just out-dps the heals with all your burst damage and feral charge back to this guy when they switch places. It does help to keep moving back a little at a time, the distance dims down the heals and makes this a bit faster. Make sure to clear the mobs before the room though as they can be painful in high enough numbers - enough to make this a pain in any case. Keeping DoTs up is key.
This could really count for any melee class though too!
Good luck fellow kitties. :)

I tried this as a level 86 blood dk. My first attempt was a fail, just couldn't get through their health so I let them kill me. Went here to read up and then it hit me, a bit too late, necrotic strike, had totally forgot about that ability. I returned to try them again...
After hitting on them for 22 minutes they finally died. It seemed they healed less often when they hit berserk but I could be wrong. One of the most boring fights I've ever done, alone. I remember doing this quite a while back in burning crusade and it was quite "easy". Never had the pleasure of doing any of these old raids when they were new.
Might add my dps was a whooping 11k during the fight.

Is there any significance to their room being shaped as a triangle?

FROST DK - EASY SOLO
less than 10 min fight Spamming Obliterate/Death Strike/Death Coil.
2 key points though.
1. Position - (ALL Melee classes/specs) - DO NOT GO TO VEK'NASH SIDE EVER. He is your target though. Hit Vek'Lash once to loot after kill. then wait for Nash to come over. On the Lash side only there are nooks at platform pillars. These will ensure you never get bounced out like you sometimes do on lash side. Place your rear facing the nook, set focus on Nash spam as above. I popped army to start. Ghoul and used Death Pact once. ilevel 512 no buffs other than Horn. So try not to fall asleep watching for the switches (although you could just listen for them) and hope for 1 of 2 cageable companions. etc.

After reading many of the comments here, I anticipated this fight taking several minutes and potentially running into a few issues.... but this was not the case. So I thought I could maybe put a few people's minds at ease.
On my Feral Druid ilvl 512, I stealthed behind Vek'nilash, Berzerk-SR-Ravage-Rake-Shred-5cp Rip-Shred-5cp FB = Vek'nilash dead.
He did receive one heal but was dead before Vek'lor could get to our side of the room. The fight was over before the 12 second Savage Roar ran out.

Solo'd as a
lv 72 hunter
rather easily.
Have pet attack one on one side, you focus on the other one on the other side, keep them separate. Your pet will not die, you will not die.
When they teleport swap, make sure you target the one your pet is supposed to attack and hit Ctrl+1 to keep your pet and its target on the other side of the map. Focus on the one in front of you.
It is really easy.
I do not think that they healed each other the whole fight, perhaps because of the distance I kept them at.

Fought and died. L94 mage solo. The door seals when the fight begins. I let them kill me finally. It was too much for me. Going to look for a friend.

Funny enough, his corpse is immune to Loot-A-Rang.

As of Dragonflight it is an easy 1 shot kill, no need to worry about them staying apart.
