Flipping raw mats is working best for me right now. I’m starting small and slowly working on other markets. So far on my server I’ve been focusing on only
深海绸缎 and
海妖花粉 (while mostly just observing other items like
浪息亚麻布,
幽影之尘,
镍铜矿石, and others). Set my TSM shopping scan for 80% DBMarket. After a dungeon run, I’ll swing by the auction house and grab whatever is 80% or below. When I have a fair amount (at least 200+), I’ll re list. I shoot to post at 100% DBMarket (lazy people are ALWAYS willing to pay more for the stack size they need), but as long as you’re selling for over 5% profit (to cover the AH cut), you’re going to have gold coming in. Buy low, sell high!
This requires time in the long run, as you want to make sure you understand the market for the item you’re selling. When it goes quickly vs when it’s not moving. Being able to notice pricing trends throughout the week is crucial to maximizing profits.
Test out different stack sizes. Stacks of 200 Siren’s Pollen sell easily for me, whereas I’ve found listing Deep Sea Satin stacks of 30-50 guarantees a faster sale.
Spending a few minutes at the AH throughout the week (when sales are slow and prices are lower) can get you loads of gold as reset day approaches and demand/prices rise. I’ve gotten mats that sell for 60+ gold each for like 12 silver each on slow days. When you’re turning around and selling it in multiple 200 stacks, that really adds up.
Just focusing on two items is pretty small scale stuff, but I try to make sure I undercut a few stacks of 200 before bed, and when I wake up I always have gold sitting in my mailbox.
