View announcement
Wowhead's latest feature has just entered beta: the
Completion Tracker
!
You can now use the
Wowhead Profiler
, in conjunction with the
Wowhead Client
, to keep track of a ton of handy new data, including:
Quests
you've completed
Mounts
and
companion pets
you own
Recipes
you know
You can track all this info, show off how much you've completed, see what you're missing, and even link people to your recipe lists! We thought you'd like to play with this new toy, so
let us know what you think
!
For more info on how it all goes down, join us after the break!
Help
It only takes a few minutes to complete the process, and the information will be available on Wowhead
immediately
!
How to Upload
All the uploading is done with the
Wowhead Client
. Make sure you have the latest version by launching it first. Users who are running the Client will automatically have their data gathered and updated over time—when you log into a character and open the window that has the relevant information in it, the Client will automatically record that data.
If you want to update your data immediately, just log in on the character you want to update and type
/wl collect
. As soon as you do, your recipe/mount/pet/quest information will be saved—then all you have to do is exit the program, run the Wowhead Client, and click
Upload
. All of the characters you upload data for will automatically appear on the
Characters
tab on your user page, be resynced to show your most current gear,
and
will have their extra tabs populated!
Note: It may take up to
1 minute
for the quest data to be retrieved if you're outside of a capital city or an inn. The Wowhead Looter will let you know in the chat log when the data is obtained.
Exclusions
When you're looking at a list of quests to complete, Wowhead automatically populates the list with the quests in our database. But what, you ask, about quests you
can't
complete? Do I have to just sit there and stare at these "Incomplete" quests, taunting me?
Well not to fear! We've added "exclusions" to the Completion Tracker just for this purpose! You can also automatically exclude items based on pre-set identifications, as seen in the panel to the right—you can automatically exclude items or quests that aren't available to players, or which aren't available except via loot codes or promotional giveaways. You can also exclude individual quests and items—just go through any list, mark the checkboxes, and click "Exclude" to have that quest, mount, recipe or pet removed from the list and bumped over into the "Excluded" tab.
This way you can decide for yourself what "Completion" really means—and all other profiles you view will remember your settings!
Feedback Wanted!
Remember, this is still a beta! We need your help to find ways we can improve our tools. We're planning a number of other features based on this functionality for the near future too. So let us know how we can improve, and give us your feedback!
Feel free to leave it right here in this thread, or send your opinions to
