Dwarf Stoneform and Kyrian Phial No Longer Removes Some Castle Nathria Bleeds

There have been a lot of talks about World First Guilds possibly swapping to Alliance for the Dwarf Racial Stoneform to remove some bleed effects from Castle Nathria. Some bleeds, including the important ones on the Stone Legion Generals encounter, have been altered in the last Shadowlands Build seemingly preventing Dwarf

from removing them.
How Do Dwarf Stoneform and Kyrian Phial Work?
If you look in the spell details for
石像形态
and Kyrian's
静谧之瓶
(the actual spell ID), you'll see a specific effect pertaining to Bleeds.
Dispel Mechanic (Bleeding)
In this case,
石像形态
and
静谧之瓶
can remove any effect currently applied to you that has the "Mechanic: Bleeding" flag.
Kleia's Ascendant Phial Soulbind Trait
Kleia's
晋升之瓶
Soulbind trait has a slightly different effect.
Apply Aura: Immunity - Mechanic (Bleeding)
This means that you should be completely immune to any effects with the "Mechanic: Bleeding" flag. This is likely important because not only should it dispel any current Bleeding effects, but prevent new ones from applying as well. However, this has not been tested.
What is Mechanic: Bleeding?
Mechanic: Bleeding is a flag that can found on
MOST
but not all physical damage-over-time abilities to classify a spell as Bleeding to the game. This flag can be found on Wowhead in one of two locations on the spell's data page depending on how the spell functions.
Functionally, there appears to be no other difference between a Physical Damage-Over-Time Event that is classified as "Bleeding".
Sources and Testing
For these two spells above:
鲜血之喉
and
撕裂重殴
, we have confirmed in
Log #1
and
Log #2
that these are both removed by the
静谧之瓶
.
However, Rezan's
锯齿
from Atal'dazar does not have a Mechanic: Bleeding flag in either location. To the game, this ability is not Mechanic: Bleeding and just a generic damage over time event. As such,
静谧之瓶
does not remove
锯齿
as seen in
this log
.
The same will apply to
石像形态
, which has been known for not clearing Rezan's
锯齿
this expansion. Another example of a spell that doesn't have these flags is
血流不止
which
石像形态
didn't remove.
What Abilities Does This Affect in Castle Nathria?
We looked through all the Physical Damage-Over-Time abilities in Castle Nathria and have looked for the "Mechanic: Bleeding" flag. A reminder that this could be changed before Raid testing this Friday.
All
signifies that the entire spell is classified as Bleeding, so it's theorized but untested that
晋升之瓶
prevents the initial damage as well.
DoT Only
signifies that only the Physical DoT portion of the spell is classified as Bleeding, so you should take initial damage even with
晋升之瓶
active but can remove the Bleed using
石像形态
or
静谧之瓶
.
None
signifies that no part of the spell is classified as Bleeding, so
石像形态
or
静谧之瓶
should have no effect.

You may be wondering then how
邪恶撕裂
and
锯齿撕裂
on Stone Legion Generals is cleared then if they're not classified as Mechanic: Bleeding? The mechanic on the encounter

actually has a Cancel Aura for those two specific debuffs hard coded into the spell's effects.
Conclusion - Will Top Guilds Go Alliance?
Unless things change further, I think most guild will not be changing faction to
join Exorsus on the Alliance side
. The main reason that most of the guilds were thinking about changing faction to Alliance was the Stone Legion Generals, the penultimate boss in the raid. You can heal through Bleeds on Shriekwing or Huntsman or the other earlier bosses, but for Stone Legion Generals, these were Permanent Bleeds that needed to be cleared using an Encounter mechanic.
However, If you could just avoid doing that encounter mechanic altogether, it was a big benefit and would make the penultimate boss a lot easier. But this would come at a price of top guilds like Complexity Limit and Echo having support from fans on the Horde side giving them additional members for splits and BoEs. Blizzard has to tune all the bosses in Castle Nathria to be done without a Bleeding dispel, but they also need to prevent
静谧之瓶
or
石像形态
from being overpowered and it seems like preventing these abilities from removing certain Bleeds was their solution.
The Power of Immunities and Blessing of Protection
That all being said though, the majority of Physical Damage Over Time events in this raid can still be removed and immuned by
保护祝福
and other immunities which are available to both factions. Every spell in the above chart, except for
震动的地基
and
锁链联结
does not currently have "
Unaffected by invulnerability
" flag.
This does mean that Stone Legion General's no duration bleed can still be removed by immunities, which does include more classes and
not just limited to one faction or Covenant
. Raiders have historically not enjoyed immunity fights, like Mythic
寂灭者阿古斯
or Mythic
N'Zoth
and it'll be interesting to see if Immunities are brought specifically to this fight or if Blizzard makes the Bleeds persist through immunities.
